The hotel is ok. The rooms are small. They are also warm and you can’t change the temperature. The restaurant is understaffed. The waiter did a great job considering he was hostessing, waiting on tables and then bussing the tables himself. Very nice kid though. Definitely not a high service hotel. Great location.

We stayed one night as we had an early train to catch. Although we were upgraded to a large room , the bathroom was small, with absolutely no shelf or flat surface. And there was just a hanging rail , no storage space in the room. The TV did not seem to have any public channels , just a string of "apps". And bizarrely no phone in the room, nor little things like tissues. (We were told it was deliberate choice by the owner. So if you need reception or housekeeping , go back to the ground floor!. ). In the dark lobby there is a bar , but the seating is around a big very low table and "child size/ height " stools... crazy. (Plus a few designer sofas , again , impossible to sit comfortably on). Its popular with groups , so you do need to book if you want to dine there in the evening (at 4pm we managed to book the last table for 2). Breakfast is a bit of a scrum when you encounter a group : its a basic buffet line...the only fruit is huge inedible chunks . There were cooked options : hard boiled eggs or vat of scrambled eggs. Overall a case of pretentious "design" over any practical functionality.

We we're only there one night, so keep that in mind for my review. Everything was great. Quick and easy check in; excellent proximity to the center of town; the food at the restaurant was great (much richer than I'm used to, but I'm on vacation and it was great!).

Stayed here two nights on a quick stopover on way to Svalbard and this was a great place to stay! Clean, nice rooms, comfortable beds! Great breakfast spread. People who say the breakfast was only adequate or rooms small must have really high expectations apparently because we have been many places and this was perfect for price- less than Bryggen and easy to walk everywhere

The location is fantastic, steps away from the train station. After you enter through the black doors you begin to realize that you have kissed light goodbye. They have some of the worst lighting I've ever encountered in a hotel. The dining area is no better, still dark. The room was no better. The mood lighting in the bathroom would make it impossible for anyone to apply makeup. There is no maid service for your stay and if you run out of anything you need to go to the desk where the staff will gladly give it to you. With that said the staff were very pleasant and friendly. 5 stars to them. The rooms were clean and the area was quiet. The breakfast buffet was above average with a nice selection.

Pretty good experience. We for a rather large room with double bed, good sized TV, an actual cold fridge (empty) and spacious bathroom.||The room was very clean and good standard.||Good selection of food and beverages for breakfast. Very tasty pancakes!||Staff seems reasonably acommodating.||And the location is great. Very short distance to train and tram, a short walk to the city center. Very calm and quiet area.||Food in the restaurant seems quite expensive at first glance, but considering they use local ingredients it is probably reason able. Did not try it though.

Excellent hotel option for Bergen located next to the train station. Modern, clean, really good breakfast, and friendly service. Will definitely stay here when I come back. Nice walk to all touristy locations. Ample sized rooms for Europe. Most comments take down points for not having AC which wasn’t an issue for me since i visited in April.

Stayed from 14th April til 18th April 2025 & found the Zander an excellent hotel situated 15 mins from the Bergen hotpots.|Situated directly behind the railway station accessible easily by airport shuttle bus of the light railway system stop. I used both methods & the LRS is by cheaper of thd two but takes a bit longer.|Bus stops outside the bus station (10 mins walk) & the LRS stops outside the railway station (Nonneseter) (5mins walk).|Bus can be picked up directly outside airport arrivals & the LRS drop down one level via the escalator.|The Zander is an excellent hotel. Our room was basic with what you need for a short stay. No coffee/tea making facilities, but a hair dryer is in the bathroom.|They have coffee/tea machines in the main reception, which are free to use.|Breakfast was good with an excellent choice of hot/cold foods to suit all tastes. |A restaurant is available for evening meals but I did not use this.|Staff were always approachable and very friendly.|All in all, it was an excellent choice for a short visit. Our booking was through Booking.Com.

Yelp
We had a 3 night stay for a long weekend-about a 20 minutes Taxi ride from the airport with a shopping mall and Light rail stop steps away. The Fish Market is a 10 minute walk with Bryggen at 15 minutes. Both of our Tour meeting points were in the Bryggen area so that worked out well. Our triple room was tight but had a good size bathroom. I was surprised they had carpet vs wood flooring. We liked the room had plenty of outlets throughout. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are cleaned by request. Exercise room was comprehensive and had all the equipment needed for a good workout. A Safe in the room would have been nice. Another highlight was the Breakfast-free-amazing spread. Full Bar and restaurant along with self serve Coffee Bar were available. Check-in was quick and seamless. Paulo took great care of us. Great location and value for money.

Yelp
We wanted a nice, modern and affordable place to stay given that we will be arriving late in Bergen. We actually wanted to book an apartment but this place caught our eye, as it is literally a stone's throw from Bergen Train Station (which is the final stop!). I would say, I walked literally 1.5 mins to get from the station to the hotel! You can even see the train station after stepping out from the lobby doors - it is THAT near! Upon stepping in, I was pleasantly surprised at how warm the interior was, with very well insulated doors (two layers with a wind catcher). During my 3 night stay here, I even walked down to the lobby bar for coffee/tea in my PJs without any jacket on and I felt comfortable. The decor of the lobby was very modern, urban and yet homely all at the same time. We were very tired from our 12 hour scenic train ride from Oslo and the friendliness and smiles from the check-in lady sure made our night so much better! It is the norm for hotels in Norway not to have any coffee/tea/cups/water kettle in the room but for this hotel, they even provided free-flow of coffee, tea and hot water at their lobby cum bar! Hot water was very important to me as I am used to drinking a hot cup of tea before bed, plus it was crucial to making cup noodles - yes we were craving cup noodles after 3 weeks in Norway! Love the long wooden table in the middle of the lobby where guests would drink coffee/tea, sit and read the papers or do the crosswords in PJs (like me). The room was comfortable, and bigger then most hotels, good enough for us with two mid-sized luggage. The best part of the room, besides its cleanliness, was the shower and shampoo gel! It has a woody scent with complimenting earth notes that was reminiscent of the signature Aesop scent! Zander K was proud of their own collection that they even sold some of their shower gel at the lobby; I was sorely tempted to buy but I restrained myself - bath times became that much more relaxing! Our room rate came with breakfast included and for breakfast, they served the usual widespread of bread, yoghurt, eggs (hard-boiled and scrambled), ham, bacon, all kinds of cold cuts, a very huge selection of cereals/toppings, muesli, salmon, tuna, baked cod fish etc. We were pretty sad to leave Zander K but if we were to go back to Bergen, we would definitely stay here again! Taking the train in and out of Bergen while staying here was really very convenient and easy!

Yelp
A beautiful hotel, restaurant and bar. Very modern and clean. There is a 24 hour fitness center with yoga and cross fit equipment. Nice bar and food available. Staff is friendly and the location is right near the train station!
