Confronting but also inspiring museum memorial really. It was opened in 2012 next to the former home of Žanis Lipke, who bravely rescued Jews from the Riga Ghetto during World War The memorial is designed to resemble an overturned boat or Noah's Ark, symbolizing a shelter of life. It has the reconstructed bunker where Lipke hid the refugees, along with various exhibits that tell the story of his courageous efforts.

This museum is out of the way and a bit hard to find, but definitely take the time to get here. The best way to access is to take a Bolt - only 4 euro from the old city The museum is free and it is perhaps the best done museum in Riga. It gives you an immersive experience without being scary. I deliberated whether to come but then decided to do so to pay homage to a family that risked everything to save Jews. I am glad I did Notice it is closed on Monday

At the beginning of the museum, the tape record is saying something like "look in the mirror, if you were alive at the time in that situation, what would you've done?" Such a strong statement that is very inspiring and pushing us to be better people. The place itself was amazing, and as you leave, you feel so much appreciation to those who risked their life to save others. I hope in the future good will manage to outcast the bad completely.

Very interesting museum about a family that helped Jewish people escape the Holocaust, as well as dissidents during Nazi and Soviet regimes. The architecture is very interesting, showcasing several themes in the story, and the entrance and audioguide are free. Staff was amazing. Since Latvia became known as a collaborator to the Nazi regime, this museum was built trying to show the other side of the story, that of resistance and solidarity. Good place to go while in Riga.

Worthwhile to take time to visit an out of the way place with a significant impact. Not flashy, across the River in a quiet neighborhood, but this is where courage lived out the call to lay down your life for others. Take time to step away from the popular and easily located spots in Riga and visit this side street across the River.

Its one of the best museums in Riga. Really glad i went there. A memorial for a family that helped others in need by risking their own lifes. The concept, architecture and also the receiption of history are quite modern. Free of admission, but i hope people donate enough so they can continue their great work.
