Zankou Chicken

My new favorite place for kabobs and healthy Mediterranean food! You have to try the chicken and steak combo plate. Comes with hummus and cucumber salad along with rice and 2 pita bread. I eat a lot and usually have leftovers. Great food and great value and the employees are always super friendly!

This is one of those places where you order and pay for your food at the register and it's self seating. When we arrived, it was really busy. It looked like a group of people just came from a game, so it was a little hard trying to find a table at first. This location has the most tender and well maintained chicken kabob. I highly recommend this dish and don't skimp on the garlic sauce (if you like garlic). We also choose the cucumber salad for our side. Great value for your money. We also recommend the baklava as well for dessert. Overall, the food was delicious and well worth it.

Staff is absolutely wonderful. Very patient considering it can get busy and the queue can get deep. Rest assured service is fast and it’s nice to see an open kitchen with your meal being prepared. Friends and us had been talking about Zankou chicken, so had to make a point to get some. Highly recommend the half chicken plate. Cucumber salad is crisp and tasty and the mutabbal is super delish. Wifey and our daughter enjoyed their chicken bowls with rice and salads. Great casual fast food experience. Of course garlic sauce to go enough for at least 4 days but it’s so good it may only last two days.

This food is to die for! We spent a week in Anaheim and ate at a variety of restaurants. This one was by far the best. So good in fact that we came back the next day after eating here for the first time. Even kids requested we come back here. Garlic sauce is not to be missed. Hummus is so fresh. Chicken and beef kabobs, all wraps, pickled turnips, even rice all taste so amazing! Please come to Utah. We need your restaurant there badly!

Succulent rotisserie chicken with generous sides make Zankou one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is always very kind and accommodating.

Ordered food waited 31 minutes for 2 half chicken no one told us was gonna take more than 30 minutes. I thought it was gonna be pretty fast and when we get the food the food was not even cooked well there is blood in the chickens. For the same price go somewhere else a lot better places in Orange County

Called our order in advance and they had a separate queue for us, I was able to get our order after a few minutes. Dining area isn’t that big, probably gets full at times. Really good quality Mediterranean food, the big family meal we got lasted for a few meals.

Great place for delicious Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food! Lots of great choices! The chicken, shawarma, kabobs, tarna, and tri-tip are great. The sides are varied and all tasty!

This place is a little gem! The service is friendly and fast. There's plenty seating available and it's clean. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with different little dessert shops. We ordered the fattoush salad with tri-tip Shawarma and the chicken kebab plate. Both were very delicious and flavorful. Can't wait to come back and try different plates!

I'm sad about the food here. I was craving middle eastern food so we ordered quite a selection of food. Whole grilled chicken was dry. Chicken with rice was good. Beef shawarma plate was ok. The flavors were not authentic. The bread was stale. The garlic sauce and hummus was delicious. Baklava was delicious and tasted authentic. We came here many years ago and the chicken then too was over cooked and really dry. Lots of tables available to dine in. We grabbed food to go and it was prepared fairly quick. Service was good.

Best garlic spread in the world. Their tzatziki and hummus are also bangers. I've tried soooo many Mediterranean places & none of them compare to the taste and quality of Zankou's chicken and various sides. We ordered a family meal and it was plenty of food with generous portions of 2 sides and pita bread. Love this place. It may not look aesthetic inside, but trust me. Zankou is known to be a staple Mediterranean spot in OC, and your tastebuds will see why.

This place is packed! The staff is very nice and helpful with answering questions. They also do a good job at upkeeping the tables. I ordered the lule kabob. Lule Kabob- This comes with hummus, basmati rice, cucumber salad, garlic sauce, and pita bread. The beef is juicy and flavorful. The hummus is fresh and perfectly seasoned. The pita bread is soft and warm. The cucumber salad and garlic sauce go well with everything and add a depth of flavor and texture. Quite a filling meal! Great experience overall. Would love to come back and try the rest of their menu.

Whenever I'm feeling down, Zankou Chicken is my go-to comfort spot. The food here is consistently amazing it never misses. The rice, the hummus, the tahini, and that warm pita bread... wow, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I usually order through Postmates, but I've been to the restaurant a few times it's always packed, and for good reason. This place has been rock solid for over 10 years, and it's the place I always recommend people to. I've never gotten a single complaint. Now let's talk about that garlic sauce I call it white gold, because it's that valuable. You can put it on literally anything, and it'll taste like heaven. The only downside? I'm burping for two days straight, and it's so high in sodium, it's probably shaving a few years off my life... but honestly, it's worth it. If you know, you know Zankou Chicken is legendary.

Palate happiness the garlic sauce the tabouli falafel are amazing but the CHICKEN IS DELICIOUS. Inside and out. It is always bursting with flavor.

Zankou is a fam favorite at our house! It's easy, healthy, and the kids love it! The service is always quick and friendly, their prices reasonable, and their eating area is consistently clean. 10/10 - We'll be back, and you should as well! :)

The food here is always delicious!!!! It's one of our family favorites !!! Recently they have added to their menu. I love their falafel plate, sandwich and today I tried their new bowl with falafel as the protein! My husband's favorite is the tri-tip shawarma. The service is friendly and quick ! The restaurant itself is small but they put out a lot of food !! You order at the counter and then they call either your number or name . It definitely works for this location !

We enjoyed our meals at Zankou chicken. Mediterranean dishes are perfectly cooked and plenty of food. Chicken dishes are very good. Combo kabobs are very tasty...flamed grilled. Hummus is very good...pita bread was a bit dry. Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices for dinners were reasonable. Will definitely visit again in future. Recommend this restaurant. Plenty of indoor seating. Not a fancy place...very casual.

Zankou is the place to go when you crave juicy chicken and Mediterranean food. The chicken tarna plate with hummus and their legendary garlic butter is money. The chicken is seasoned perfectly and super tender. Every bite with hummus and garlic butter in the pita bread is perfection. Service is quick and the ambience is quaint. It's in an older shopping plaza so don't expect much in terms of opulence.

When you're nearby, definitely drop by to try Zankou Chicken. More than 12 years later, I returned and the taste was even better! Meats were well marinated, tender and so delicious! They tasted clean and not all greasy like some places. Vegetables tasted fresh along with fluffy warm rice and warm pitas dipping in warm hummus. It was hard to decide what I should get because I wanted everything! : ) The price here was similar to other places. Order at the counter and staff will call your number to pick up at the counter. The came out quite fast so that was good too. Staff were very friendly and understanding with my orders. The inside was clean and well kept with big space to sit down and eat. Big parking lot inside a shopping plaza so you won't have any problems there.

I love coming here. My work will even send me to get lunch for the team and it's always so good. Food is ready usually 10 minutes or less. Just got food here for my family and the workers all seem to be either cleaning cooking or at the register. They all look very hard working. Definitely my go to spot. Clean fast and lot of seats inside. Highly recommend.

Online ordering - Simple to do and allows you to select sides and sauces as needed. We selected the immediate pick up option and our food was ready to go in about 15 minutes. Price - More of a $$ price range for a fast casual place. I ordered the chicken kabob plate with 2 kabobs and was able to turn it into 2 meals. I really enjoyed the tzatziki sauce and the garlic sauce. The plate comes with 2 full pieces of pita. I would order this again. So why did I give it 3 stars? The cucumber salad is a pretty small portion. I would have been happier without the roasted tomato on the side and had more cucumber salad. When you see how generous they are with the tzatziki, you'll understand my disappointment with the salad. We also ordered the hummus and pita chips and unfortunately discovered the pita chips were not in the bag until we got home. I called this location and was put on hold for 6 minutes and explained to the employee I was missing part of my order. She asked for my order number and said she couldn't find it. Then I spoke with who I assume was a supervisor (she didn't introduce herself). I had to re-explain what happened and she apologized and said my boyfriend's name would be on a list for credit. Apparently the next time we go there, they will look up our name in a binder and give us a large hummus with 2 bags of pita chips as an apology. So I guess we will find out if his name makes the binder and if we actually get what we were promised. I'll share an update if we end up going back.

I had the Shawarma plate and it was super delicious I will go back again and I will try other dishes. I'm very sure it will be so delicious as well.

When we visit OC from Riverside, we always stop here to pick up some yummy Zankou chicken and garlic sauce. They have the best garlic sauce! We love their tabouleh salad and falafel too. Service is always friendly and fast. The seating area is a good size and there's always room for us to sit when we go. They have plenty of options to drink. They also have a rewards club you can sign up for and get free stuff with your points. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Zankou Chicken never disappoints!!! This location has plenty of parking, customer service was super helpful and has great vibes. I've visited this location a few times and have ordered different items every time. This visit I had the Shawarma wrap. It had soooo much flavor. I love that it doesn't fall apart nor does it get soggy. I would definitely recommend!

The Chicken Tarnas is the best Mediterranean Pita sandwich they have ever, hands down! With slices of fresh chicken black pepper tomatoes complimented with Tahini sauce, it's the only thing I ever get here. A family favorite soon to be yours too!

Zankou Chicken is low key, but super high key to the people that have showed up into this place! Since I arrived I've seen people walk in and out of this place and for good reason too the food is flippin phenomenal and totally gains after a really hard workout! I feel so empowered and refreshed and I don't deserve it...I feel like I am cheating it's sooo good and healthy!!! The kabob combo plate is fire filled with explosive flavor and rich steak and chicken!!!!! I love how I feel like I have more energy and I could probably do another workout!!! The place could be overlooked at a glance but if you know you know LOL! My eyes and my palette are open and I am blessed to have visited and have been introduced to such a wonderful establishment! The food was delicious, the chicken very good. The sides were delicious as well. The service, a very kind gentleman behind the counter pardon his self from the very busy register to hand me my take out order. Like I said my order was take out. This place is small but yet then again plenty of room for seating. It's casual attire. I'll be returning.

This place is the OG for roasted chicken, shawarma, hummus and kabobs. The food is amazing and fresh! Ample seating and fast, friendly service. The dining room could be updated as well as the bathrooms. Easy to order ahead and carry out.

8 years later and the food is still delicious, but the prices have gone up. My go to now is the Chicken Tarna plate, but honestly everything is delicious here. I find myself mentioning Zankou when people come to visit from out of town and they have not had decent Mediterranean food in their lives. Zankou is the spot to eat at and then to compare other places too.

Service was so nice and explained all the menu items to us. Food took 10-15 min because they cook it to order. We ate inside and it was clean and enough tables for everyone. The chicken was so good! They also have hibiscus tea, lemonade, and cucumber mint lemonade (which is what I got). Definitely coming back here!

Unfortunately, this restaurant used an old bread. I think he buy it a cheap cheapest price because always when I get that chicken he put an old red. Nobody can eat it. It's for animals. You should use a fresh bread not old bread.

For my plate, I chose: Chicken and Shish Kabob skewers Sides: Basmati Rice, Hummus, and Cucumber Salad Bonus side: Mutabbal (a roasted eggplant spread) Let me tell you--this meal was an experience! Absolutely what I hoped it would be! Chicken Tarna Bowl was a sizable meal. The cabbage side added a nice crisp balance to the bite of chicken rice hummus and feta. The sides are small (I wish there was more) but appropriate (I couldn't have eaten more). Fresh lemonade and Hibiscus Iced Tea were top notch not too sweet. And the baklava!!! Buttery not too nutty and so flakey. Do not skip it. Fast- friendly service.

The BEST chicken kabob. I've been going here for so long...has to be more than 10 years. I should have a dozen updated reviews. Anyway, I like getting the same every time. They're known for chicken, so that's what I get every single time. A double chicken skewer plate with tabouleh or the cucumber and tomato salad and hummus and extra garlic sauce. It never fails me. The food always hits. I recently tried the lule, and it was flavorful and not dry! I remember getting steak once, and it was not the most tender, so I just stuck to the chicken. The chicken is the moist moist and juicy kabobs ever. The quality and taste are consistent. On Sundays or dinner times, they can get ridiculously busy. Regardless, I'm always calling in my order so I don't have to wait when I get there. The dining room is spacious, but I like eating in the comfort of my home. 10/10 recommend

Got the chicken bowl with tabbouleh and cucumber salad. Don't know how I feel about it but it does come with a lot of rice. Normally I get the quarter chicken or beef kebab plate but I wanted to switch it up. Food here is consistently bomb. Have been coming back and will definitely continue to do so.

Location / Located in a plaza with ample parking. The place is quite spacious and can accommodate big or large groups. I've seen families have meals here. Service / Awesome they were friendly and communicated with us lots of their kebab dishes are made to order. So asking us to be patient for a 15 minute wait was very much appreciative. Food / Hands down the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had! Great portions for the price. Comes with their hummus that was so creamy and pairs well with their warm pita bread. Pickled turnips and spicy yellow peppers give that taste palette a refreshing crunch. Chicken is so moist and the skin is seasoned to perfection. I would come here again and make this my go to places for healthy and fresh food.

I came for my first time with my wife to try this place out . I did not know what to get so I asked the cashier for some help. Mitzy greeted me With a smile and recommended my wife and I to try the chicken and tri-tip combo and the combo kabob combo as well. Mitzy made it easy for us to order . Back when I lived in Tustin, CA, going to Zankou Chicken was more than just a meal. It was a routine, a tradition, and a guarantee of great food. We made it a point to visit at least once a month for their whole chicken, fresh pita bread, and their legendary garlic spread. The flavor was unmatched, and just thinking about it now reminds me of how incredible it was. My mother, my late father, and the rest of my family all loved this place. Even after moving out of Tustin in 2004, I never stopped coming back. Whether I was near Anaheim, heading to Disneyland with my kid, or traveling to the airport, stopping at Zankou Chicken was always part of the plan. The food has only improved over the years. The chicken remains perfectly seasoned and juicy, the garlic spread is as flavorful as ever, and the customer service continues to be excellent. I have even recognized some familiar faces behind the counter over the years, which speaks to the consistency of the place. I am back on Yelp after deleting my old account and wanted to make sure Zankou Chicken was one of the first reviews I wrote. If you have never been here, you are missing out. They have expanded across Orange County and Los Angeles County, but I hope they open a location in Riverside County soon. Five stars for outstanding quality, service, and consistency.

I love zankou chicken. It never disappoints. This location has a good amount of parking which is also nice. Portions are generous, food is always fresh, and people are always friendly. I always get the combo plate and usually there is no problem with it. This time, the worker let us know that they accidentally gave our food away so there was going to be a slightly longer wait. They apologized and gave us some hummus, pita chips, and drinks. I appreciate that they owned up to their mistake and made up for it. That kind of customer service is part of why I always go back to Zankou. PS. Get the app and loyalty account! Its worth it if you go at least twice a year.

I've always order the Shish Kabob Plate. This plate has one skewer of freshly grilled steak! But as usual, I order a second skewer. The plate has Humus, Basmati Rice, Tabbouleh or Cucumber Salad, Garlic Sauce, spicy Onions and a grilled Tomato! With two warm Pita Bread.

This is easily one of my favorite Mediterranean spots! You get a generous portion of food, and the quality is even better. The meat is flavorful and tender, and the hummus and pickled veggies are nice and fresh. The service is nice and quick, and this is a great spot to either dine in or take out.

Ordered the 1/4 dark chicken meat plate and this is what I got when I came home and opened the box. This was over $15.00 after tax. Like did the person working here who was preparing this order think this was funny or is this a real size order? If this is a joke, good one by the owner. Now can I get a real order with chicken not the size of a kids meal or a refund? Like for real, this is a pathetic plate of food. Make it right! This isn't ok!

We've been going to Zankou for over 20 years now. It's one of my favorite fast food middle eastern stops. Everything is delicious and well priced. They also arguably have the best falafel, ever.

I might be a bit biased, because Mediterranean Cuisine is my all time favorite food... But I will still proclaim that Zankou Chicken is the one of the best I've ever had! I love love love their food! Everything is always so flavorful & fresh! Especially the chicken. The service is always great as well, with staff members that are great at answering any questions you have. In addition, they're always super friendly and hospitable! Trust me, you can't go wrong here!

Lunch here. Food is fresh and delicious. I had half and half with chicken and beef. I will order chicken only next time because beef is little bit chewing. However, friendly service is always a plus.

I cannot believe I had never been here before! as a socal native, I had seen Zankou Chicken multiple times but somehow never tasted it There are simply not enough good words in the dictionary to speak of this place Off the charts divine One of the juiciest rotisseries out there. The accompanied garlic and tahini sauces were unimaginably tasty. We were so indecisive and the lady taking our order offered for us to sample some of the meats (the tri tip shawarma, chicken shawarma and roasted chicken). The winner for me was the tri tip, succulent and melt in your mouth tender. We had the chicken tarna as well, which they are known for - delicious. Overall, we split 3 dishes among 2 people and I still need to come back multiple times to clear off the rest of the menu The staff was super helpful and friendly. They offered to taste test our selections and even came to check in on us at the table. Definitely not a practice at other fast food locations. I stood up to use the restroom and was immediately guided towards it. Service was better than what I would expect from anyone - they should all work at Disneyland :) Unimprovable Can't wait to come back for more!

I recently found out I had to make changes to my diet (low-fat) or it could trigger gallbladder attacks. I was in despair of not being able to eat out anymore until Zankou chicken had everything I was able to eat. I was able to order pick up through phone call and they seemed BUSY. But I think it's because they're really worth trying. So about the food? AMAZING. I spent 4-5 days eating BRAT foods (very bland) because I was so scared of eating any type of foods but I got the chicken plate and ate it for like 2 days lunch/dinner. I got it with the cucumber salad, basmati rice, and tahini salad. Safe to say I didn't even have a trigger to my attacks. So I'll be ordering from zankou more often!
