A small paradise for intense relaxation. The good: The hotel is surrounded by a forest in an isolated area of the island, which makes the hotel a small paradise. Trees and green are everywhere, and the beach is somewhat private due to its isolation. The room was also super cosy and reserved. The food was great and they put a lot of effort in accommodating our plant-based diet. Both Given and Kombo were superb hosts during our stay. What could be better: While we told them weeks in advance about our plant-based diet, we were still negatively surprised on the first night: they were not aware and the experience wasn't great. It would be great to have a few buffet-like options for a quicker meal. The sea front was gorgeous, but the beach is actually small and not quite like the ones we see in the pictures of Zanzibar.

As someone who loves to travel and has experienced many countries and cultures around the world, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Zanzi Resort, seeking a tropical destination with beautiful nature, peace, and the chance for genuine relaxation. Staying there, I fully experienced what it means to recharge, refresh, and fill myself with positive energy. The place has an indescribable atmosphere, it’s not just beautiful, it radiates a special kind of energy that stays with you. What stood out most to me was the professionalism and warmth of the staff, who were always kind, attentive, and welcoming. The service was exceptional, the food absolutely wonderful, and everything, from cleanliness to organization , was simply perfect. I was left speechless by the number of impressions I carried home with me after my stay. I am already planning to return because the experience was so memorable that I feel compelled to relive it. I would especially like to highlight the highly qualified management team, whose efficiency, professionalism, and flexibility in both service and payment options impressed me deeply. Zanzi Resort is truly a paradise for the soul, an oasis of beauty, comfort, and joy. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a destination that offers not only rest but also inspiration. Zanzi Resort in Zanzibar is a beautiful, serene resort that’s perfect for a calming and luxurious stay amidst nature. We stayed in Villa 5 with a private pool and ocean view, and it was worth every bit of money spent. The villas are huge, very private, and neatly maintained. Pool cleaning was done whenever we requested, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The team here is super friendly and attentive. Check-in was quick and smooth, and we were welcomed with fresh tender coconut and a fruit basket, which set the tone for the rest of our stay. Turndown service was excellent, and we felt pampered throughout. We had the half-board option, and OMG the food was outstanding! Every meal felt like a gourmet experience, with three-course menus that exceeded our expectations every single day. Special thanks to the chef – truly a chef’s kiss! One evening they had a local African band performing, which gave us such an authentic cultural experience. The wine selection was also fantastic. The spa is uniquely located right by the ocean, and getting a massage while listening to the sound of waves was the most relaxing highlight of our trip. We also felt safe and well cared for – local Masai security guards patrolled the resort at night and always greeted us warmly with a “Jambo.” Overall, Zanzi Resort is a truly luxurious and calming getaway, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. From the stunning villas and gourmet dining to the warm hospitality and oceanfront spa, it’s an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

This place is pure paradise!! We were warmly greeted by the staff at the late hour we arrived and were quickly checked in due to just coming off safari. The samosas and fruit platters left for us in the villa that evening were much needed. ||The villas are simply stunning, spacious, modern and feature their own plunge pool which is ideal in the very warm sun. ||The food was extremely tasty, with a wide variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner with room service being included in your stay.||The staff were simply fantastic - they were friendly, inquisitive and just overall very personable. Do not expect super quick service as the relaxed ‘Pole pole’ approach is very much taken across Zanzibar. Special mention to Alex, Geoffrey and Ivan who made breakfast, lunch and dinner so great! ||My wife had a massage during our stay, and said that Ria was fantastic. Very relaxing by the sea. ||My only minor criticism is the resort should have informed us that there were minor building works going on. It did not affect our stay as our villa was far away but drilling and hammering while eating lunch was not exactly ideal. It was almost ignored by the senior staff and no-one mentioned it to us. Strange these works weren’t carried out in the low season. ||Overall this place is paradise in every sense of the word and we would 100% come back. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so special! We did not want to leave.

We were looking for a special hotel in a special setting for a special occasion. We also wanted to enjoy our time together in a private atmosphere. We found all of this at Zanzi Resort. In addition, the housekeeping was excellent and very attentive. The furnishings were high-quality and tasteful. The food was very good and room service always delivered it to our villa (at no extra charge). The reception staff were also extremely courteous and very helpful with any requests we had. The pool was cleaned daily. We had Villa 7 with direct access to the sea and our own pool. So far, it is the best hotel we have stayed at on vacation.

Stayed at Zanzi resort for 4 nights as part of honeymoon on Zanzibar. Had villa 6 which is one of the villas with private pool and beach access. Room was clean and had the expected amenities. ||The chefs are amazing and we were genuinely blown away with each meal. The chicken soup and red snapper were delicious. Honestly the food was spectacular. Watching the bush babies feed during the dinner service was also a nice treat. Would like to thank Abdul, Geofrey (our waiters) and the one female server who we can't remember the name of - they were all very friendly and attentive. ||Visited Cheetah's Rock as this is very close which was a very worthwhile experience. There is not much else to do in the immediate vicinity so would recommend spending a few nights here and going to the other side of the island. ||Only minor issues we had were occasional power cuts with loss of wifi (the website does mention this) and loss of water due to a pump issue on the final day but this was rectified quickly.

From the moment we arrived we discovered paradise. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and we spent here three nights together with our four-year-old. We had a great deal through the hotels website, and before booking we had email the hotel and they are very responsive and professional. We did take the half board because we're not big eaters, in the minute we step foot at the place (about 45 minutes from the airport) we have landed in paradis, it is secluded place which means it's not close to a town and it's in the middle of the jungle. We arrived late in the staff offered to bring dinner to our ocean villa. But we really liked the restaurant in the dinner (s) where amazing! Each night you have a different kind of menu, with fish veggie options and meet, and it was a delight! It's a five course meal and we were so surprised that everything is just great. And they didn't even talk about the flawless service. We got the beach villa which was very spacious and uncomfortable. They have a little jungle that you can walk around, in the evening see and mostly hear brush babies. The beach is tiny but very comfortable, there is a swimming pool at some of the villas, and a really nice and quiet shared pool. We did order lunch which was always great and had some kids options as well and the prices are very very fair. We have stayed in many resorts around the world, but something about Zanzibar and the serenity and the people makes it special :)
