Zanzibar Serena Hotel

Chris, Iddi and Suleiman were especially welcoming and made our stay really special. The rooms were gorgeous with the well crafted furniture, beautiful doors, wall artwork and balcony. The views were breathtaking especially walking down the corridor to reveal the beautiful blue ocean. Being located close to most attractions, it is just perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Serena.

Great staff and great place to relax . The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their ways to help. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. Getting to the hotel from airport is a bit far but the driver explained everything made the time go by fast. All in all very relaxing specially the pool is fantastic. We also got great body massage at the spa. Dining space was clean and organized well.

What a wonderful customer service hotel from check in to checkout. Rooms were awesome on the first floor with views of the beach, ocean and boats on the water. Food in the restaurant was great for breakfast. Pool was nice and refreshing.

Room, Balcony, View from the room and Restaurant is really nice. But only one thing they need to improve in their reception customer service. Room I signed when I check in and Room I really received was different. They changed the room without notice. I asked why they said it's same room inside. But it was totally different. Changed room has no privacy at all. We have to close the window during the stay. And I asked for late check out when I check in. They told me to check last day in the morning. In last day, I asked again for 2hrs late check out. They refused my request even didn't check the system. Just say NO. I am very disappointed with their attitude. And when I checked the site there were plenty room left. As everyone knows Zanzibar is the holiday place. Most of 5 star hotels in holiday place, they run check out time very flexible due to flight time. No deserve to have 5 stars in customer service.

Despite having a really hard time due to food poisoning from another restaurant the day before, the hotel staff took exceptional care of us and showed genuine concern for our well-being, which meant a lot to us. As we were on our honeymoon, they kindly surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to a suite, making our stay even more special and memorable. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm, and their hospitality truly turned a difficult start into a wonderful experience. We are very grateful and would highly recommend this hotel.

Go for the oceanfront Terrace room and you will have the best room in town. Somehow, we booked that and got a two room huge suite which really is wonderful and beautiful. This is a colonial style hotel that is well maintained, and preserves that style. The pool is very nice. It’s located next to the Park Hyatt. They both look very similar. We were treated very well. Highly recommend for a comfortable night in Stonetown within walking distance of everything..

Pros; It was on the beach. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and had food representative of Africa. At breakfast, I had authentic coconut juice straight from a coconut and ate the pulp. It was fantastic. The balcony faced the waters, and it was great sitting on the balcony. The air conditioning was refreshing after a day in the hot sun. There was a pool for those who didn't mind swimming in chlorinated water. Con; The only problem was to get to the beach, there was a drop to large stones, which you had to walk on to get to the sandy beach and swim.

Great hotel with great service. The staff are very friendly and always ready to help. We got a corner unit which gave us amazing view of the sea and sunset - loving it! Room is very clean and serviced daily. Lovely breakfast with fresh coconut and sugar cane drink. Great location to Stone town centre. Overall, highly recommend !
