Zanzibar Serena Hotel

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, the staff are enthusiastic and professional, particularly Big Joe, who was a ''rock when we had to sot out airline flights. The food was excellent and the local tours provided were really good. The accommodation was first rate and the evening turndown provided some re-assurance about mozzies.

Great location for exploring Stone Town. Comfortable room. Breakfast selection was large with nice service. Reception and concierge staff also friendly and helpful. Pool area nice though I didn’t use.

From when u get out of the car u are greeted with a warm smile and you feel very welcome straight away. After a simple check in you are escorted to your room where the cool aircon meets you .The rooms are well appointed clean and plenty of room to put your luggage. After a quick cool down it’s a small walk to the pool area and restaurant and bar area. Your are greeted again with girls in white uniforms and great smiles . You take your seat at the window over looking the ocean which in only feet away . Drinking on a cool drink you watch the fishing g boats come in with their loads and watch the guys jump off the boats and swim ashore . Just a great location with great people .

I chose this hotel again due to it‘s perfect seafront location and the oldworld Zanzibari charm and architecture. |Loved the Prime room with a huge balcony from where you can watch the comings and goings on the beach and the sea below. The rooms are lovely and while not being super modern and the bathroom on the small side, I really like the Swahili style and the very comfortable bed.||A highlight is the excellent breakfast served in the most beautiful breakfast room.||Will stay here again, hopefully soon.

Very good hotel in every way. Close to sea, and walking 3 min from downtown. But still very silent area. |The breakfast is exceptionally! Sitting there with the beautiful sea view and feeling the warm wind while their preparing an excellent breakfast. Can't be better. The hotels atmosphere; you feeling you going back in time, with all the services you not will experience in a modern hotel, but still with modern facilities.

Located in Stonetown, Serena is an excellent choice.|This is not the first visit to the hotel. |The location can’t be beat and the view from the rooms are stunning. If planning to stay in Stonetown before heading to the beaches around the island, this hotel is sophisticated and offers everything…|From the well appointed rooms to the excellent restaurants we highly recommend this hotel. I went to Zanzibar Abeid Karume International Airport for a trip to Mombasa via Safarilink, but I was late, and the airline counter was already closed. I had to look for accommodation awaiting to travel the following day, which I finally got at Serena Zanzibar, and it was just wow.||Ally, the reservations manager, was very helpful in discounting my rates. The room was very comfortable, very well aircondiitioned, with a big verandah facing the pool and the ocean. You see all the activities in the ocean just sitting outside in your varanah. Within the room is the mini fridge with Sprite, water, and Fanta as part of the room package.....Very well thought.||I also had the chance to go for dinner in the restaurant. The food was exactly what I wanted.....paper steak with french fries. Very delicious. I took sparkling water based on the barman's advice to ease gases in my stomach, and for sure, I got relieved. | |This is my second visit to this resort, and I highly recommend to all types of clientele looking comfortable accommodation, quality service, and good food.||I will be back very soon.
