"Relaxing Beach Getaway in Zapallar Zapallar is a decidedly untouristy beach town about two hours northwest of Santiago . Unlike the larger and more well-known Viña del Mar and its suburbs, Zapallar has no major hotels, no high rises, and no busy streets. Rather, Zapallar is the place where Chile 's well-to-do come to get away from it all, and where a handful of tourists fill its one hotel and few bed and breakfasts year-round. One of the highlights of Zapallar is its ramblas, a two-mile stone walkway that follows the cliffs and hills surrounding Zapallar and along its quiet harbor and sandy beach. From the ramblas you have a spectacular view of the huge waves that come in from the sea, as well as the stately vacation homes of Chile's elite."

Beautiful, amazing waves and some nice walking around it. We walked to the beach but there seems to be plenty of parking. There are a couple of small cafes right on the beach and a larger restaurant, too. Walking around to the left there's another restaurant and a place that sells excellent empanadas. It's lifeguard patrolled and there are floating platforms a little way out. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic little cove! We saw a pod of dolphins! Best to go in the morning to get a good parking spot. I think you do have to pay for bathrooms. There were shops there to buy food, drinks, and sand toys.

Water was 58 f. The sand was nice, thick and had a nice color. The beach season has not started yet so no crowds to deal with and no traffic. The parking lot was pleasently open and we had plenty of Parking. This is the perfect place to retire.

Lovely small beach in Zapallar which can be reached by car. Parking is next to the beach but it is not free though. To the left of the beach you can find a few restaurants and from the right side of the beach leads a nice trail along the rocks.

I fell in love with this small beach 🏝 It is nice to relax on the beach, have a nice walk and enjoy the view. The best thing of the beach is that there weren’t many people. The beach doesn’t have a lot of waves so it can be safe for kids. There are also two restaurants nearby one that’s close to the beach and another one a bit further down.
