"Txotx! Experience an Authentic Cider House December to May is cider season in the Basque Country. Basque cider is quite different (drier, more bitter) than its American and English counterparts. The real magic in Basque cider, however, happens when it is consumed. Groups of friends head in droves to cider houses, gather 'round wooden tables, and grab a glass. No orders are placed—cod omelettes and steak come to the table without question, while diners drink their fill of cider from the barrel. Zapiain is a top quality cider with an authentic ambience, open only during the season."

Most authentic cider house treat that you can find in San Sebastian. My newfound Spanish friends were surprised to know that we discovered the spot that even locals might not know 😄 Sausages, salted cod omelet, codfish with peppers, and the best item - Basque txuleton steak 😋 All these awesome food washed down with Zapiain cider. And no it ain't the sweet stuff that you are used to. It's the refreshing, slightly vinegary taste that makes you keep going through your food. You get to know how drunk you are when you are not able to “catch” the cider in your glass during the pouring from the barrel. Best recommended reserving your slot way in advance as they are usually fully booked

Even if you are not a fan of cider, the experience of this restaurant is still something that you would want to add to your list of things to do in San Sebastian. Enjoy an exceptional meal inside an actual cider cellar and sip your drink that is served directly from the barrels.
By the way, there is no seating in this restaurant, just high tables

Cider is not tasty, though the way of tasting and serving is a mice gimic. Stakes are excellent, but the rest of the food is not exciting. I believe that if the place is crowded, the experience can be much nicer than mine.

The best Basque cider house. It only opens in Cider season, from the 20th of January to the 30th of April.

Don't miss this place, such a friendly vibe. Delicious food and of course the cider 💗. Easy to grab a cab from SS/Donista.

go and experience a true basque meal. multi dishes are all fantastic - from the cod omelette to the cod loins, then the meat was melting off the bone. cheeses and txistorra, its all a culinary journey of exceptional quality. and do i have to mention the cider? tops!! i can drink it for breakfast. value is outstanding - you can't cook this at home for that price. this place is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! look to make a reservation as it fills up quick.

By far too expensive for what you get. Food was served while drinking cider in the basement, and was cold once we were back on the table. Very rude person at the cash point. Won't go there any more.

For me is simply the best sidreria in the area, strongly recommend (and all the pictures of everyone else confirm it)
