Great place to stay. Right by the water and very budget friendly. I have stayed here for a week and had a very comfortable stay. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Hi, me and my boyfriend spent just one night two days ago in the Hotel and it was enough to have such a bad service from de guy in the reception, from the beginning of the check in he was rude and 0 % friendly. I was trying to get some recommendations (simple questions) of the island from him and he said he was not a tourist guide. When checking out in the morning we supposed to have a taxi ready at 7:15 am to go to the airport (we booked it the night before) it was 7:45 am and taxi was not there we just told him we were gonna get a taxi from the streets and he yelled at us to leave and never come back and shouted the door in front of us. He was extremely rude, I hope this does not happen again to somebody else.

Staff is great, rooms are small, location is central, it is great and bad. There are cafes right outside the hotel that work all night. The windows are not soundproof. It was loud till 3-4am in the morning. Overall, you pay for what you get

There’s a famous line in a well known Italian film which says “non sono del mestiere”, namely “this job is not their cup of tea”. No expression can better describe Zarco Residencial as a holiday accommodation provider. In brief, I would strongly recommend you NOT TO GO for Zarco Residencial. Pros: it’s true, they have quite clean rooms (like a decent 3 stars hotel), a good position in the center of Funchal, and the prices are not exaggerated, but… Cons: catastrophically low level of organisation; rudeness and total incapacity, of staff, of doing its job; dramatically low level of service and assistance to clients. As for the cons, a quick description of our terrible experience. - We reserved from 19th to 24th of August a room at Zarco apartment - few hours before our arrival, they contact us pointing to a “system problem” resulting in the apartment being not available, and in us being moved to a Zarco b&b room - Zarco b&b room are “Okish”, but sizeably smaller than the apartments and certainly lower quality - in the 2 days spent in the b&b, the staff (except for one guy) treated us very badly, being rude when we raised our concerns related to the situation, and not offering us any kind either of refund or of “kindness” to get to grips with the situation - after 2 days they told us we could move to our original apartment; however, during the day that we spent going around in Madeira, contrarily to what promised, they did not provide us with the code to enter the apartments - in the late evening, when we arrived to the apartment, after a long interaction with a guy in the reception who tried to help us with the situation, we received our code, entered the apartment… but there were already two people inside - in brief, they left us without a place where to sleep, in the middle of the night, and also were unable to help us in any way and to find an accommodation for the following days Ridiculous, simply ridiculous

Great location, it's the city centre. Around 100m to the sea, and a few minutes to the main square. The rooms were small but perfect to stay for a few days. If you plan to spend some time in the room, find a different hotel, but if you spend most of the time outside, it's great to spend the night there. There were a lot of restaurants and a bar around, but we had double windows, so the noise was not so annoying, if you're a light sleeper, take earplugs with you and you'll be fine. Good breakfast. several types of bread and rolls, plus Ham and Cheese, eggs, and some vegetables. several types of breakfast cereals and fresh fruit. A few juices and coffee. For me, it was fine. That was a better breakfast than in other hotels I was in the past.

The walls are thin in that you can hear people walking around and up and down the stairs but honestly? It was clean, the continental breakfast was great (has a really neat automated espresso/milk machine as well as fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fresh bread, and more) and the staff is really nice about helping you get your luggage up the stairs. For the price and location? Worth a little bit of extra noise (honestly I'm from a city so it wasn't any worse than staying downtown in any other city)

Great location. Great access to all locations. Bus stop and Sea is nearby. Best place if you are looking for a place just to spend nights. Rooms and bathroom are really small. Difficult for 2 people to stay. Would recommend only if you are planning just to sleep at night.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at B&B Zarco in Madeira. We arrived with high hopes for a pleasant stay, but our night there turned into a nightmare. The paper-thin walls allowed relentless hallway noise to permeate our room throughout the entire night, leaving us sleepless and exhausted. The room itself was nothing short of a disaster. It was uncomfortably small, and the lack of cleanliness was immediately evident. The bathroom and bed were far from sanitary, creating an overall sense of discomfort and disappointment. We had initially planned for a six-night stay but decided to leave after just one night due to these unbearable conditions. To make matters worse, the breakfast was equally disappointing, offering no redemption for our awful stay. It's disheartening that the B&B management refused to refund us, despite the fact that the root cause of our distress was the catastrophic state of the rooms. In summary, our experience at B&B Zarco was a far cry from what we had expected. I would strongly advise against staying here, as it was a nightmarish experience we'd rather forget.
