Zaxos Grill

Someone gave us this recommendation for dinner and it was the best!! Definitely coming back! Gyro was incredible! Steak and pork steak ( chop) were delightful. Staff was courteous and kind.

My lovely lady and I came here seeking the sweet taste of gyros. Our server seemed to be extremely rushed and working 10 jobs at once, so I can’t knock him for that, but what I can say is that the services we received was equivalent to that of a McDonalds. This was disappointing, especially seeing many reviews about how good and attentive the service was. The real issue was when our food came out. We had hoped for chicken gyros, but unfortunately they had run out of chicken, so we settled for pork gyros. Our food was served very quick after ordering (about 5 minutes), which was much appreciated. However, the biggest issue was that our gyros were made without the fries and lettuce. This may not seem like a big deal, but once we realized that the other people (who were locals, speaking in Greek) had gyros with fries and lettuce, we felt heavily discriminated against, as we were tourists. All in all, if you’re a tourist, stay away from this place. You’ll be discriminated against as we were. If you’re a local, go all in on this place

Great Grill Spot – Delicious & Affordable! The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. Just note that it gets quite busy during the weekend.

Zaxos Grill Tavern is a true gem in Vouliagmeni! Open since 1980, it’s still full of people every day, both at lunch and dinner – and for good reason. They serve traditional Greek dishes like gyros, souvlaki, bifteki and more – all extremely tasty, fresh, and prepared quickly with great quality. You can enjoy your meal at the tavern or take it to go. I first discovered this place 8 years ago, and ever since, every time I fly into Athens I make a special trip to Zachos. The portions are generous, the prices are very low for the quality you get, and the atmosphere feels authentically Greek. Highly recommended, especially if you want to taste real souvlaki and gyros!

This was definitely one of our favourite Greek restaurants in Athens. The gyros were extremely fatty and delicious! Highly recommend! And the Greek salad had a lot of tomatoes, which I also enjoy.

Veryyy delicious, no fries which was pretty different, but the portion was fair. The pork skewers were soooo tender and well seasoned but not overly salty The Greek salad was also delicious It’s so busy though. The servers take forever to even acknowledge us…

Staff don’t make you feel welcome, the tables are ridiculously flimsy and overall the food isn’t nearly as good as in the other branch in Varkiza. Won’t be returning here.

Service was friendly and fast. Good quality. A little pricey? Apparently that’s the price these days! The server got a little distracted and busy at some point but I didn’t mind getting up to ask for things which were promptly and politely brought out to us.
