If you are coming to Ulan Bataar, stay at one of Anand's places! He has been exceptionally helpful to 2 travellers with inconvenient bike boxes who needed to extend their visas over 2 days when government offices were on holiday. We couldn't have done it without his help. We are coming back after our bikepacking trip and look forward to meeting Anand again.

Zaya hostel has great location close to the State department store by the Peace avenue. Friendly staff. Good and reliable airport transfer service. The cleanest hostel ever with modern and comfortable rooms. Really worth the money, will come again.

The manager Anand is super helpful, the apartment is tidy and convenient with a washing machine in the bathroom. Will recommend Zaya to people who are looking for a place to stay in UB.

I had 3 stays in total over my month in Mongolia.|From the outset communication through WhatsApp was clear and timely.|Anand is a solid guy who will help you navigate your stay. He is a machine - juggling a lot of responsibilities and seemingly always on hand.|Anand arranged airport transfers on 3 occasions at USD $25/ride but if he has more than 1 guest needing the ride he’ll try share the price out. His drivers are really reliable.|The hostel itself is in an excellent location for food, grocery and shopping and sightseeing.|The tip I read from a previous guest was to take the lift to floor 4 and the stairs down to 3- good tip.|I had a few different rooms- 8,9 and 5 and lastly a spot on the 6th floor. Super clean with fresh linen.|Hot shower, clean bathroom and Japanese toilets. |Public areas comfortable with filtered water and fridges to store your food.|Note that breakfast is not included - TA description lists it as being available. The grocery store at the State Dept Store has everything you might need- fruit/veg/milk/ yoghurt/ eggs/ bakery/ snacks/ soft drinks/beer, wine, etc, etc.|Can’t recommend it highly enough.

This guesthouse in central Ulaanbaatar is cheap and good value for money. It is functional with shared bathroom/toilet and hot water in the showers. No breakfast is offered but there are kitchen facilities. I stayed there a few days which entitled me to a free laundry service. Wi-fi worked. I would return.

I have now spent nearly ten days at Zayas, with gaps in between and it feels like coming home when I walk in the door. This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. Like most places, it is the management and staff who make the difference. I really like that people remember my name and ask how my days been. When you are travelling alone, little courtesies like that make a big difference. There's a real sense of being looked after. Of course everything else is great - spotlessly clean rooms and bathrooms. Great ensuites in some rooms. A tasty, filling breakfast. Hot and cold water and tea and coffee always available. There's a guest kitchen, a bright comfy lounge, free Wi-Fi and a laundry service. It's also in a great location close to Peace Ave and the state department store. On top of everything the prices are an absolute bargain and pick ups and other travel services can be arranged. I may well be coming back to Mongolia just to hang out in Zayas for a few more days.

Clean and safe. Very reasonable price for a private room with bath. Very nice owner. Near the city center. Great place to make new friends! Both outside door and door to the hostel has electronic locks. Nice kitchen and lounge. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Zaya Guest Houses 1&2. Both were excellent. Gigi and Baidan were helpful and professional.
