We had dinner at the restaurant recently and ordered a mix of BBQ, shawarma, and a few side dishes. The food was genuinely delicious and arrived in a reasonable time—at first.
But unfortunately, we had to wait over 40 minutes for the shawarma and drinks after the BBQ was served. By that time, we were already done eating, so we asked to cancel the remaining items. The staff were kind and respectful, and when we noticed we were still charged for the shawarma, they quickly refunded it without any issue.
What didn’t sit well with me, though, was that they added a tip to the bill without even asking. Coming from Dubai, I’m used to tips being optional—it’s something the customer decides, not something that’s just added on. It felt a bit off and honestly, a little disrespectful.
They did offer me a free coffee afterward, which was a nice gesture, but to be honest, that’s not really the way to make up for the experience. Good food alone isn’t enough when service and transparency are lacking.
