Highly recommend! Turns out owner only takes 1% commission and the rest goes to local artists. Talk about a Small Business giving back. Make sure to dedicate atleast an hour to peruse. 😊

I was looking for a place to have fun quirky souvenirs before I left New Orleans and this was the best spot. Zèle NOLA had things that were hand crafted, cultural, local artist work, and more! High Recommended!

Google
Cute shop with lots of fun pieces in a variety of styles. Some are made by local artists too. There's paintings, photos, books, jewelery, t-shirts, posters, and more. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.

Google
Zele is a great shop! I think just about everything in there is from Louisiana artists. There is beautiful artwork, jewelry, and other small home goods/decor. The store is also way bigger than it looks from the outside. Highly recommend!

Love to support local artists. I have been missing my Bedford Falls. Glad I found them here.

Google
Zele NOLA is a brilliant eclectic mix of arts and crafts produced mostly by local artists. From funky to sublime, you will find 2D and 3D artwork to suit every taste.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my time in this vast store - filled with artisan booths. I lingered here for an hour handpicking unique one-of-a-kind items. If you're visiting New Orleans this is the one store on Magazine Street that you should not miss! Also very kind and outgoing staff too. Just a really memorable experience and I will be back in the future for sure!

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled upon this building while walking through Magazine Street. It's such a beautiful space. It's filled with numerous artists and their work. Jewelry, art work, wood work, soap bars, etc can be found here.

Yelp
What an amazing, local arts gallery! The store is huge and overflowing with so much beautiful creativity. Lots of small pieces, great for travelers, it's easy to find a little something to take home. And they ship too. Right on a busy part of Magazine Street, stop in while you are on a walking tour in the area. Zele Nola has been selling my art on architectural salvage here for 7 years, they are fabulous!!

Yelp
SHOP HERE! We love souvenirs from our travels but hate the normal made-in-china touristy junk. This shop has amazing items made by local artists. All kinds of items for all price ranges. This is a great stop to pick up some New Orleans survivers that are completely unique and made by true artists. We enjoyed walking through and checking out all of the items!

Yelp
So, I love shopping local artists and finding different treasures when shopping for my loved ones. I'd rather spend a little more in my life to get something truly unique than to go to a department store and buy something that anyone could have. Same goes for souvenirs or mementos from my travels. I would rather something unique than just another magnet or keychain. If they must be magnetized, at least let them be quirky. SO, long story short (too late), one of my favorite accessory creators - Poly Paige - posted on her Instagram that she updated her little shop at Zele and of course she had the earrings that I had been drooling over from afar there. If that wasn't good enough, those earrings weren't even on her etsy, so I knew I had to make a trip. (To be fair, they look like lava lamps and I'm in love. No judgements, k?) Anyway, I find this location, park around the corner, and then proceed to just die and go to heaven. Right there. Look for the marker. The store is right up my alley and has a little bit of everything for everyone. Everything from wall art, to wearable art, to dishware, you will find something. And yes... even magnets! I was also given a card that has the shop keeper's cell number on there. She said if I needed anything, just text her. Like that's all she has to do with her time. I was just in love, and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I was really disappointed by the shops in the French Quarter - tons of mass-produced, kitschy items - but I get that visitors to, say, Pier 39 in SF feel the exact same way. It's only when you get away from the touristy center that you find the more unique, soulful items to gift the folks back home. If that's what you're looking for, then Zele is a veritable treasure trove. No, not everything is emblazoned with something explicitly New Orleans related, but if you have friends who are into doggos, cats, etc., I think they'd appreciate something handmade with love from a NOLA-based artist than the random dishtowel talking about beignets (though they have these here, too). I'm really grateful I stopped by this place on my last full day in New Orleans because I did 95% of my souvenir shopping here. Do yourself a favor and peruse the entire store before you start making any decisions about what may best suit you and/or a loved one. There is a lot to see in every nook and cranny so use your time wisely. I ended purchasing some dishtowels, wooden ornaments and a beautiful feather headband that I know one of my friends in particular will love. There were so many other items I wanted to purchase, though, from earrings to paintings. If you have the time in your itinerary, head to this spot on Magazine Street!

Yelp
One of the best stores in NOLA! I bought a few things that I love including original artwork. Store is just awesome I even got a plant. Nothing is junk it's all tasteful!

Yelp
So many local artists and things to choose from here in a prime spot on Magazine Street! From paintings to photographs and random nick nacks, I got most of my Christmas shopping done here while supporting small business artists. One of my favorites, Cary Chung Lee, has a booth set up here. I will definitely be back whenever I need another gift in the future! After you're done shopping, head on over across the street to Ruby Slipper for brunch :)

Yelp
Very nice market. I was exploring Magazine St. a bit (was in town for a wedding, and my airbnb was nearby) and stopped by here. I bought a print of Bourbon St. (sketch) for about $20 with tax, and I picked up two Beyonce-inspired wine bottle bags for a friend - they say "Okay ladies, now let's get in formation" with a pic of some wine bottles, and I had texted him a picture of it and he immediately had to have it. :) There are a lot of different stalls here from different artisans, and they had a nice collection of things to purchase. I'd definitely come back here when in the area.

Yelp
My favorite place to buy local art. Low-key no pressure sales, it's like walking through an affordable gallery...I buy almost all my gifts here.

Yelp
Very cool and hip stuff but let me tell you something! IF YOU ARE SHOPPING PREPARE TO BE GIVEN THE STINK EYE BY THE STAFF! I had picked out a couple items snd intended on buying more. Unfortunately the guy behind the register was eye balling me like I was there to steal! Well well well... he lost a sale! If he wouldn't have done that to me I would've bought some of the over priced unique items! I'm wishing I had the two posters I had picked out bad but NO WAY will I stand for that. Please note... it wasn't just me. I met my partner outside and he had the same experience. I get it... I have a shop similar to this. I take much different security measures!

Yelp
Danger Will Robinson. An artisan indoor swap meet, which will tug at your heart, and your wallet :) I absolutely love Nurhan Gokturk's space. I am returning tomorrow, and it going to cost me! Zèle NOLA. Five Stars.

Yelp
Art! Art! Art! This is a great one stop shop to see many local artists' work. They carry more than 150 local artists in their space. Are you going shopping for people with different tastes and want to give them something special from New Orleans, go here! Too should be able to find something for everyone. Going shopping with a group of people who have different tastes?!?! Go here! There's so much art here, you can easily spend an hour or more here while you look and make decisions on what to buy. One small tip, some artists have a live studio in the space directly across the street. You may want to check out that place first. I didn't see any price difference between the two locations. Go buy some great New Orleans Art!

Yelp
I'm so happy this place is on magazine and not royal. We really needed a place 'round here with great local art... and A/C. There is definitely something for everyone here. Whether you're a fan of art deco or art nouveau, you'll appreciate all the artistry here. A limited amount of New Orleans branded shirts and onsies, many many many portraits and paintings, artsy door knobs, jewelry, Nola post cards, glassware, bow ties, lotions, pottery, THERE IS EVERYTHING HERE. I'd recommend any and all tourist to check this place out. You a local and don't fell like sweating at the Dat Dog art market? Then come on down to Zele! Don't appreciate the seven smells of royal street? Come on down to Zele! You won't regret it #Winning #BringYourWallet

Yelp
I'm upgrading my review to five stars. I think Zèle NOLA is such a creative curation of local makers. I sometimes just like to stop in to see what new artists they have. I think the Quarter has some great stores for travelers to take home New Orleans-esque souvenirs and gifts, but I 100% suggest folks make their way down here to bring home something very genuinely New Orleans and made locally. I also have bought a good bit of gifts here for friends getting married, my landlord, my dad, and some many folks in between. There is a great range in prices so that you can find something special on any budget. The staff has always been very pleasant and helpful, and I will definitely always have Zèle on my holiday or gift shopping rounds.

Yelp
I adored this place. I highly recommend ditching the mass produced tchotchke souvenirs you would find in the French Quarter and check this place out for more one of a kind items. The space is essentially an indoor artisan market (think classy) where items by different artisans are on display and available for purchase. My husband and I wandered the store looking at the different items available for purchase, all made locally. There is something for everything from art to jewelry to home décor and much much more. The woman working was very friendly and even had her rescue dog on site to get him socialized. If you're looking for a place that has a little of everything, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Came in to browse and I did end up purchasing a pair of earrings by a local artist. This shop brings together different local makers and you can buy anything from jewelry to clothing to some unique art work.

Yelp
Y'all. If this isn't the coolest place, I don't know what is! After spending the day in the French Quarter, we ventured back (via street car) to Magazine Street and stumbled upon this gem! As soon as we walked in, I knew I loved it. WHY? ++ Large, spacious area, perfect for holding the large amount of items featured! Located on Magazine St, it's hard to miss and nestled perfectly into the neighborhood. ++ Items featured here are all locally made, handcrafted and gorgeous! (Literally over 100 artists work!) We found many paintings we liked, beautiful jewelry, cute clothes from a local designer and the cutest little trinkets. Every little corner has something to offer! We left with an ornament for our Christmas tree (oyster shell, painted with the signature fleur de lis on it!) ++ While pricing can be a bit high for items, all proceeds go to the artists themselves and to the organization that supports them - making it entirely worth every single penny! In fact, I could easily spend all my money here! ++Staff is beyond friendly, sweet and eager to share their favorite pieces and help you find yours, and provide history on the artists featured, their signature style and where to find them! With all the reasons above, you'd be a fool not to check out this market! I can't wait to return on my next trip to NOLA!

Yelp
Definitely one of my favorite places in NOLA. This is beautiful market that houses plenty of local artists and artisans. If you are looking for a peice of art or some beautiful jewelry this is the place to go. I go here when I'm looking for new scented roll-ons or candles. Beautiful store and atmosphere.
google avatar

Jey R.

Yelp
Loved this little art market if you can call it that. I appreciate being able to look through and buy pieces of all types from local artists all at once. They have just about everything. Very big to small works of art from local painters, homemade/handmade candles. Jewelry, post cards, "beau-ties", as well as woodwork and other home improvement things. I've passed this many times strolling up and down magazine. SO happy I finally stopped in!
google avatar

Victor R.

Yelp
Wow, I love this store. More than a hundred of local shops and artists and hundreds of amazing artwork. You can spend hours in this store... probably my favorite one in NOLA. If you are looking for something special and authentic to buy, you MUST come here, you will not be disappointed!!

Yelp
I visited this store with my dad while he was in town. Zele is a GREAT gift shop featuring local new orleans gift shop. This isn't really the stuff you see in the quarter, this is the stuff you see at local festivals or weekend markets. The curation is great. New Orleans isn't beaten over your head but rather these are items genuinely crafted by skilled artisans that just so happen to live, work, or love New Orleans. Definitely Magazine Street is a great for having shops that feature smaller artisans but Zele stands out for the pure volume of artisans that are featured. The range of prices is also great. There were higher end jewelry and art available when I visited but there were also very reasonably priced paper products, accessories, and knick-knacks. I will definitely be adding it to my must bring visitors to list as well as my list of places to go for gifts.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the most creatively curated artisan showcases I've seen in a long time. It's hard not to spend allllll my money at Zele (only $75 or so, phew). It's a large space brimming with unique decor, jewelry, art, apparel and everything in between. We left with a print of a cat eating sushi, a Jareth the goblin king keychain (labrynth), and other ridiculous items that I love so much. Still, looking around is 75% of the fun even if you don't buy a thing. You won't find the cheapo NOLA tchotchke souvenirs here, it's all quirky handmade gems that I just can't get enough of!

Yelp
An art gallery along Magazine street. I visited this place during the "Art for Art's Sake" event. Food: They has some small eats and some wine for the event, but I don't think it's fair to grade them on give-a-ways. (no rating) Services: It's an art gallery. They had a number of artists' works on display and sale. It was very busy due to the event. Workers were friendly, if over-burdened. 3 stars Facilities: A completely refurbished storefront. It's a bit sparse, last I saw. Signage readily visible from the street. 3 stars Overall: A nice place; if I were someone into higher-end artwork, I would probably shop here. 3 stars

Yelp
When Re said there was a new art marketplace on Magazine, I knew I had to go check it out. Located in the space where Dombourian rugs used to be, this brand new building makes great use of the space. They had a variety of artists, crafts people, and interesting items to look at. The space is airy and comfortable and the booths are well spaced. There is a central counter to check out. As always with these spaces, the booths are varied and there is a good variety of work from turned wood to paintings to sculpture to lamps to gift items. A space I'll be keeping my eye on for the future.

Yelp
I have shopped at Zele several times. Horrible experience. Bought a piece of art that was sold as an original but turned out to be a print. Management refuses to communicate at all. Ownership finally reached out and was completely rude. Can I give zero stars?
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
One of my favorite parts about traveling is admiring (and buying!) the art of locals, as it's a great way to get the feel of a place's culture, and a wonderful way to bring back something to remind you of a lovely trip. Zele, located on Magazine Street, is away from the busier tourist shopping areas, and the vibe is more relaxed. The store is bright and large, making it comfortable to admire the paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, attire, and much, much more, created by many different individuals. Prices range greatly for obvious reasons, but there's something for everyone here, and most items are very affordable. I highly suggest a visit here if you're interested in purchasing a souvenir that's more unique and of higher quality then a lot of what you'll find in and around Bourbon Street and Jackson Square.

Yelp
The place looks like it restructured a bit. Cleaner lines and easier to find things. I see a big improvement over the last few months when I was there. I review businesses all over the city and I have been asked to come back to a few. I give my honest and fair opinion. I am hard on food because we have such a diverse city and great choices. I enjoy new businesses and hope that the publics views help to guide them in a better direction. Customer service and value are the two best things I see going here. Magazine street offers a different experience than the French quarter. I brought two friends with me this past week and they liked most things about Zele. Now on to Domenica Pizza and hopefully we can give them some extra stars.

Yelp
In love with this place. Space features over a hundred local artists' works from paintings to jeweler to tees and more. Found some great art for my new apartment, but you can find something to suit pretty much everyone here! Love it!
google avatar

Debra H.

Yelp
Great place to pick up gifts (for yourself included) made by local artists. Every time we visit we end up here when on Magazine Street so I wanted to make sure to review. Everyone who works there are very nice and items in the shop are showcased nicely. I have purchased everything from a t-shirt dress, workout tops, tees, beautiful jewelry, keychains.

Yelp
3/5 feels in progress still so the benefit of this space is getting everything all in one spot. if you are visiting new orleans for a weekend and for whatever reason missed other art markets, having this here must be really helpful. it's pretty light, open, and airy. but it can also feel vacant at times. each of the small booths can feel cramped - seems like everything is screaming for attention in each tiny space. but the variety again is the benefit - so crafts, photos, art, shirts, and it goes on and on! i'm surprised there isn't food -- maybe there is. i guess what's missing for me is some sense of curation. i think over time this place will settle in, and it'll gain a better sense of cohesion. for now it still feels a little half-ready and overwhelming at the same time.

Yelp
Just love this spot! Have I some mentioned that before? Great area location! Nice sample of local artist, all different types of art. It really shows the diversity & versatility of New Orleans

Yelp
I accidentally found this store today while visiting New Orleans for a convention. I had limited time and went to the Magazine Street merchants website to map out my shopping strategy. I made a list of shops I wanted to visit. I missed this on my list--Zele is listed as an art gallery-and I didn't use that as a search criteria. I'm glad I found it! What a unique idea --- renting space to local artists so they have a storefront to sell their creations. The large store is full of wonderful, one of a kind, hand made art--jewelry, wall art, small pieces, large pieces, furniture, leather, wood crafts, just amazing creativity. Each cubby is a different artist and experience. The prices are excellent. If you are looking for a gift, a unique souvenir for yourself, Zele is a go to place. I found some cast leaves and a floral mosaic that is just perfect for an empty wall here at home. I would've bought more but I was pressed for time and suitcase space--I will definitely visit this store again the next time I'm in New Orleans. For visitors, like me, I was unfamiliar with Magazine street. It is couple of miles of clusters of shops, small businesses and restaurants separated by blocks of residential homes. You can take the #11 Bus up and down Magazine street. You can buy a $3 one day transportation pass that will enable you to freely get on and off without worrying about change for transfers or your ticket expiring.

Yelp
Awesome artwork. Very diverse styles and many unusual one of a kind pieces. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the Garden District.

Yelp
Walked in here by chance while shopping on Magazine and found the best local art. Highly recommend stopping in if you are coming to this area.

Yelp
This place is a one stop shop for quality, handmade, local artwork from around New Orleans. I say that because it has a very wide range of items for everyone on your gift list, or for treating yourself? If you want something for a kid, some jewelry, sculpture, paintings, t-shirts, postcards, etc - It's all local/handmade stuff here. Really great addition to Magazine Street!!!
