Zella Apartments

I've been living at Zella for about 4 months and I love it. I have an *amazing* view, secure building, respectful and friendly neighbors...what more could a girl ask for! We recently underwent a management change to Blanton Turner and I was a little worried because I really liked the previous staff but the new team is just as friendly and professional. :-) Admittedly, when I begin to panic about signing a long lease or the price of parking (lol) I will browse the area for other buildings with the "perfect" floorplan/view/price but I have yet to find it! Extremely happy resident here 😊

This place is amazing. Neighbors are friendly. Management goes above and beyond. I love the rooftop with dog run, bbq, firepit, and the most amazing views.

Love the location and the apartment is very nice. Staff is always great and communicative. No 5 stars because the fire pit on the rooftop hasn’t worked since we’ve moved here over a year ago and the ceilings/floors have little to no sound dampening. We hear our upstairs neighbor all the time but luckily we are on the same sleep schedule. We get noise complaints filed against us from downstairs neighbors just for normal walking around in our apartment. The walls seem to block noise just fine though, wonder if they forgot something when building the ceilings/floors.

One of the best buildings I’ve ever dealt with. They provided awesome customer service. I was moving in so they’re door stopers and elevator reservation made my life way easier

I absolutely loved living at Zella! The building is well maintained and they are always hosting fun tenant events - the Flower Bouquet Workshop for Earth Day was awesome. Thao does a great job running these events and keeping the community engaged. The rooftop is incredible, and I was stoked to have a dog run and fire pit - don't even get me started on the panoramic view of the water and Space Needle! Location was also perfect, as someone that regularly attends events at the Seattle Center and takes my dog on walks to Myrtle Edwards Park (the entrance is just 2 blocks away!). Big bonus that groceries are also just 1 block away. You won't be disappointed living at Zella. I couldn't recommend these apartments enough!

When moving in our place didn’t seem professionally clean. In move in day we saw some dust balls on the floor. The sink faucet comes off cause it’s missing a screw. The bathroom vent fan isn’t working. Lastly the oven started to smoke when we first used it (might have been cleaning chemicals left over) other than those things very satisfied with the place.

My friends stayed here and their time was atrocious. They had to break the lease bc they were moving out-of-state. They continued to make payments on the unit (until the unit gets filled). This complex then scammed them out of thousands of dollars. The couple tried numerous times to get in contact and were continuously ignored. This has been over several months, only to find out everything has been sent to collections … so who has been collecting the payments they have been making? Their main office and management sound horrendous, lazy and incompetent. When those in office would actually respond, it was often: “we don’t know. You’ll have to wait for Todd to get back.” Except … Todd never returned their msgs! The office have decided to stop responding to the couple. The collection needs paperwork that only the complex has. See the predicament? Not to mention, the issues they experienced while living here: -vagrancy inside the building -lack of maintenance: broken doors and elevators Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!

If you're a smoker who isn't afraid of bugs and you want to live in Queen Anne, it's a pretty decent choice. The location is super convenient. However, it was very much not for me and I usually felt on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of the issues detailed below. Neighbors - Disobey non-smoking rules - Loud music - Dogs barking (I eventually got the issue I had resolved by taking things into my own hands and reporting it to animal control, but still something to be wary of) - Don't break down boxes for recycling Building - Ants in people's apartments (it can get so bad I can't walk barefoot in my own apartment lest I end up with dead ants stuck all over the bottoms of my feet). I've been told that the building will never be fully rid of them, despite regular pesticide spraying. - Kitchen plumbing routinely smelled of cigarettes - Dryer occasionally smelled like cigarettes - I couldn't keep my dish towels in the kitchen because the wall the cabinets/drawers were on seemed to leak the cigarette smell - The apartment got so hot so easily, I didn't use heating until it was 19F outside (and 69F inside); NOT SAFE during the summer if you have pets! - Road noise (the side of the building not facing roads has noisy HVAC units on the roof of the neighboring building to deal with) - Difficult to get maintenance requests responded to and taken care of
