Zen Inn

Overpriced. Bad quality. Worst breakfast we had in Bali. Two slice bread with fried eggs (eggs weren’t even well done) and two slices of bread with scrambled eggs. We were the only customers and we were waiting more than 30 min. The only good thing was the service.

We booked a room at Zen Inn for its location near the pier and based on the nice reviews. I’m not sure why they picked the name « Zen », nor whether the reviews are authentic… The rooms were extremely noisy. I barely slept 3 hours because I could hear everything going on in the nearby streets (motorbikes, dogs, harbor sirens, boat sirens, conversations in the buildings…). The doors and windows aren’t isolating. Lots of light was coming from the corridor from around the door, and the windows didn’t close properly (when I told the manager she asked why… why indeed?). One of the window also didn’t have a curtain. We had to use a towel. The room itself is very old and definitely needs works. The walls are damaged and there seems to be a humidity infiltration problem.

Basic room with AC, a small courtyard with a garden, tv, and a bed that has a mosquito net. Staff are very friendly and most helpful. The location is perfect to catch a ferry to the Gili Islands. Only a short walk to the port. Very affordable price with a small breakfast included. We had dinner in the cafe, which was very good, and stopped by for lunch on the way back from Gili T. We really enjoyed our stay at the Zen Inn and can, without a doubt, recommend staying here.

The same quality and uniqueness as many years ago. Built by my friend, Mike. Later run by my friend, Liam (deceased). Now an Aussie is keeping up the tradition. They've always had the best staff and still do. 5 STARS!!

I cannot say enough good things about Zen Inn! Lala and the entire staff are wonderful, the rooms are great especially for the affordable price, and everyone is truly so kind! I needed a place to store my luggage, and they kindly offered to store my suitcase. If you need a place to stay before heading to the Gili islands, or if you want to go to the Blue Lagoon, swim, dive, boat, etc then I recommend Zen Inn. I hope to be back soon!

A humble gem in Padang bai Take your time before or after the fastboat and enjoy this place. The staff is great and the place so comfy. Feels like be at home. Padang Bai hides some very nice spots worth visiting.

Excellent room with everything we needed and more. Lovely little private outdoor area. Very clean and very friendly accommodation. Meals were also fresh and tasty. Very close to pier for boat transfers and the beach. |Lala the host is amazing, she is so kind, honest and helpful. |Would definitely stay here again.

Simple but very cosy room. Rooms have AC, little private garden, tv with DVDs and important the bed has the Mosquito Net. Staff very friendly and helpful, I felt really welcomed. Location is perfect to catch the ferry next day or day before to/from Gilis - Lombok - Nusa Penida etc. Really fair price for what you get, breakfast included. Honestly you cannot ask more than that. I really enjoyed my stay there even if it was only for one night.
