Before going into details, I want to say to anyone considering making an appointment at Zen Spa: BUYER BEWARE! As soon as you make your appointment, if you give your credit card number (or if it happens to be on file from a previous visit), you will be CHARGED IN FULL for the service you have yet to receive, and you will not get ANY of your money back if you cancel, even if you cancel well ahead of the 24 hour cancellation policy. You will be given only a gift certificate with extremely limited terms (which, incidentally, appear to be illegal under federal law). I have been to more spas in my life than I can count and never have I faced such a ridiculous policy and such a creepy, unyielding owner.
I made appointments for me and my family members; we all expected to be on vacation together in Highlands in the coming week. The very next morning I came down with Covid. I called immediately to cancel the appointments, but the owner told me it was too late to cancel, even though the first appointment was still two days away (the others were three and four days away) and had been on her books for less than 18 hours! Indeed, my card had already been charged. I now hold gift certificates that I will never be able to use because they expire in three months and I live hundreds of miles away.
There are so many things I could say. I had actually been to Zen Spa once before and had enjoyed the experience (though it was odd in a number of respects that I won't go into here. Things she said then and said in my more recent experience just don't add up.)
You may or may not enjoy your visit to Zen Spa, but be warned, the owner is not an honest broker.
