My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Coloquio. We had a very nice room with a view of the Plaza de la Universidad and the side of the Catedral. The hotel is in a beatiful old building that has been elegantly renovated. It’s perfectly situated in terms of sight seeing: Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, Santa Cruz Palace (Univ. of Valladollid ceremonial building), Cabaleria, and more.||(The Tapas at Los Zagales de Abadia off Plaza Mayor are some of the best in all of Spain.)||The breakfast was outstanding - (staff must have paid attention to previous reviews) excellent cold meats, cheese and salmon, fresh pastries and cakes, fruits, eggs (one can order any style), bacon, sausages, etc; fresh juices and more. ||Parking in this hotel requires some skill. (I would definitely recommend dropping someone in your party by the curbside and asking the front desk for help.) The hotel’s garage is situated in the back requiring turning (right) on the street just past the hotel (with a no enter sign). To enter the garage one must use the phone outside to call the hotel. Once the doors open one drives the car into an elevator, and down the car goes! Not too hard the second time, but complicated and not intuitive the first time. Getting back on the elevator to leave the hotel will require a little maneuvering.||Aside from the parking acrobatics we loved the hotel. The staff could not have been nicer!||Gracias
