We had a very comfortable room in this hotel, and our balcony offered a superb view of the nearby beach. The room was well furnished and quiet. We were pleased to have moved to this hotel and given an upgrade. We previously were in Le Clipper, which was tired and badly in need of redecoration. There was absolutely no furniture in the room, only a few hangers. So, Hotel Salako was a welcome find.

The hotel is peaceful with its own beach, with free sun loungers, a water sports kiosk and beautiful views. The pool is small, but clean and very pretty, with comfortable sun loungers looking out over the sea and the wonderful views. All the communal areas of this hotel were well decorated and clean, it felt like a lovely resort.||The rooms were not in the same vein though, we had a room in the first building, it was very sparse, with a weird side balcony. We asked for extra pillows which came quickly, but should have asked for extra towels too, as they were tiny.|The curtains and throw pillows looked new, and certainly went some way to brighten the place up, but they need to go a step further to make it feel inviting and comfortable.||We were only there for 1 night, so didn't bother to complain, but the room wasn't really cleaned properly and the maid let herself in the next morning to catch me naked... i don't even know why she would be trying to come in, as we were checking out that day.||A small shop and a few restaurants were just a 2 min walk away and we enjoyed a nice meal and picked up some bits at the shop that opened late, it was very convenient. ||I would consider staying here, if i planned to be out all day, either enjoying relaxing at the hotel pool / beach or out exploring, but not if i was spending any amount of time in the room.

Good location with a tiki bar and a small private relaxing grounds and beach. Rooms were clean, however appliances, i.e. TV, remote, lights/lamps were not checked and did not work. Check-in services were awful. Ensure to triple check your length of stay in your room as we were forced within an hour to move to another room in the middle of stay, frustrating. We prepaid at check-in for the breakfast buffet, however, every morning we experienced confusion whether we did or not. Since the buffet location is opened to the outside, there were constant birds picking in the food. We were concerned about the health condition of the food. Also, on the evening of our first day after walking the grounds, we sat for a few minutes at the buffet not knowing they were closing as others were sitting there. We were rudely told to leave immediately. We were surprised as we were a bit winded (I wasn't feeling well) and was to stay just a few minutes to plan our next move. The crowing Roosters early in the morning were a bit annoying at first, but we got used to it. This would be a great place of value to spend a vacation if the employees are trained/retrained on all aspects and areas of customer service. Would also help if the employees learned English and other languages normally used by their customers.

Our stay here was the result of cashing in credit card travel points. The points program listing featured photos of the newest of the three buildings on site, the Zenitude Saruka. However our room was in the older building formerly known as The Clipper Hotel. The building has probably been battered by many storms and is missing some outer panels, but our room was in good shape and we had a splendid view out over the water. But that also meant we were kept up to midnight two out of five nights with unexpected loud live music from the luxury hotel next door. And oddly, numerous roosters (and hens) roam the grounds and make sure no one sleeps past pre-dawn. An excellent buffet breakfast was included, complete with endless espresso and always fresh omelettes. And the beach out front was so inviting (with lounge chairs included) we did not bother with the pool.||We tried the reasonably priced buffet dinner one night, and it was quite good. We also spent some time at the on-site Pelican Bar but they ran out of Gwada beer on the third night so we had to go elsewhere for locally made beer. However overall it was a good stay because we enjoyed the breakfasts and the beach out front with lounge chairs and towels included.

||This property is quite dated and eroding gradually and not your ideal Beach vacation spot. However, if you get the right room with a nice view you can ignore everything else. The nature elements (like the beachfront padded with cute coconut trees, private coves, and a stunning sunset) make up for the aging buildings and bump the rating of this place Was a great value for money at the price we paid.||LOCATION: Lovely beachfront location||DINE + DRINK: Overpriced and poorly decorated beachfront bar/restaurant that you should avoid! The breakfast restaurant was a stunner and was a breakfast to remember with mindblowing views and beach vibes||ROOM: We stayed in Room 2511, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Lovely view of the ocean and the coves; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: OK cosmetics||FACILITIES: No Gym on site, and a very dated and unappealing pool!||SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile. But the staff at the Beachfront bar were quite annoying and didnt seem to understand what attentive or polite service meant!||HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment, mostly in FRENCH language!|

Stayed there only for a few days for some rest and relaxation from a busy precious trip before returning home Check in was fairly easy, and was off to my room. Upon arrival the room smelled fairly clean and looked turned over from the previous guest complete with plastic wrap around toilet indicating that is was clean but found marks inside that was easily removed with the toilet brush. Room was average size even had a little balcony, bathroom was big, clean fairly new or well cared for towels. Limited options on television, mainly French channels and the few I could get in English wasn’t anything entertaining. I would recommend investing in a few smart tv’s or better channel line up. Bed felt ok, crisp white sheets but found some hair between the sheets . Breakfast was great with amazing views overlooking the water, the beach was nice think I’d enjoy it more if the weather was better. The souvenir shop attendant was very sweet and helpful and the restaurant food was good and my server he was sweet and has a nice singing voice sang most times while I was there.
