Maybe the best japanisch food I've ever had. Without a doubt. Tasting 10 different fish was quite incredible. Different cooked method and preparations. You dont have enough. It was an amazing experience and service was very qualified, polite and friendly ( as most japanish). Totally recommended

Google
Very authentic japanese Omakase menu. Would 100% come back. The sake pairing went really well with the food (and we dont consider ourselves Sake people) and they were all really delicious. The food was excellent and overall great experience. The staff was really friendly and the interior is beautiful. It’s also a perfect setting for dinner with friends in current corona times because all the tables are within separated booths.

Google
served by very friendly staff and authentic Japanese food. Amazed by the quality of the fish, not technically an omakase procedure but a really lovely set menu, highly recommend.

Google
Great atmosphere. You get seated in a separated area. So it's very cozy and you have privacy. You can choose between a menu or a la carte. The portions are not too big so you should order 3-4 dishes per person. I absolutely recommend the lamb and all the fish dishes. It's not the usual Japanese taste that you are used to from other Japanese restaurants. It's special. Very nice service as well. And delicious deserts.

Google
Zenkichi might have become my favorite restaurant in the world. It was so amazing! The smells walking in were pleasant, I was seated in a private booth with a screen, and the food was delectable. Definitely go if you enjoy Japanese cuisine.

Google
We started with a sake tasting which was a nice array of flavors. The food here was good. Beef tataki, black cod, tofu sampler, veg tempura all a la carte but the tasting menus looked quite good.

Google
Excellent authentic underground Japanese affair, had the 8 course tasting menu which was really good. The sparkling sake is def worth a go too. The private rooms are really cool and make it a special experience for groups...

Google
AMAZING! [Location] “hiding” in the ground floor of the building, easy to ignore, the receptionist is friendly to help. [Service] highly respect everyone’s privacy. Single room for each group with curtain, so feel free to gossip😋 [Food] AMAZING! The most energetic shrimp and crab I ever had! The chicken grill is so simple but reserve all the tenderness and special aroma of the premium ingredients! I was totally shocked when I bite the grill! [Price]little bit pricy, 40+ euro per person, but totally worth it!

Yelp
1909 at ZENKICHI - Japanese restaurant, Berlin We had very high expectations. The place looks amazing, sounds amazing, seems amazing. Every you read about it screams " amazing ". And all the dishes do look amazing. But to me, it didn't taste amazing. I have had lots of Japanese food all over the world. I know quite a lot about it. And this menu had good parts and not so good parts. The amuse-bouche(6 in total) were very nice. Then one dish out of two was very good, the other just medium good. For example, the shabu shabu veal was partially warm and partially still ice cold, so it was obviously not totally dipped into the broth as it should be. But I have to give them the benefit of the doubt on the fact that I am not Japanese and I might not fully comprehend the subtility of some of the courses and therefore misjudge. Still... All in all for 200€ each (392€ bill for 2, we were not fully happy. However I would recommend it for people enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine and I certainly recommend the saké tasting selection which was very nice. And the place looks amazing with all the little alleys and the little dark booths and the excellent service. Oh and DO order the soft shell crab tempura extra. That is always a bliss.

Yelp
One of the most delightful taste experiences of my life. Went there 3 years ago and I am still reminiscing. That should say something.

Yelp
Truly amazing experience. Going to your table will be along a dimly lit spa-like path. You sit in a table/booth in a cube where the server lowers the shade, so that you are isolated from the outside. I had the 8 course sampling and sake. Some of the best tasting food items I have ever eaten in my life. Make it an experience for you. It will be absolutely worth it even with the higher price.

Yelp
Stephen S nailed it in his review. The experience is well sculpted, it's a very intimate experience, but the food is just, meh. Beautifully presented but not well thought through. You keep waiting for each aesthetically pleasing bite to ignite your senses, but it never comes. The seasoning is either ham-fisted or absent, the cooked food is oily and the fresh food is awkward in its conception and ultimately lacks both depth and complexity. We were utterly disappointed since we so wanted to be wowed, and we just weren't. Ultimately the service was well-intentioned and earnest but not great at predicting our obvious needs (like more to drink or the expectation they might actually come when summoned via their unique call button). One core issue, this might sound strange, is that this place is actually too inexpensive to be good. To really deliver, they would need to fly in fish from Japan, but they clearly don't. I ended up giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because the price is fairly reasonable for the experience. But ultimately one is left with the feeling that it is pretentious to try to do some kind of modern interpretation of high end Japanese here, without some serious bona fides. To truly perfect traditional Japanese food in Berlin would be a great thing. To attempt to refine it ends up feeling crude and rather misguided.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Great, friendly, japanese service, delicious food, unique ambiance. Can only recommend this if you look for something special and affordable. An 8 course menu for 65 bugs - that's nothing! Also had a delicious sake (basic) tasting.

Yelp
A must visit place for Japanese Cuisine. And try the Omakase - even if you are all by yourself. Ask and they will deliver. Fantastic Service !!

Yelp
Lovely, secretive atmosphere, enthusiastic and attentive service. But only a fairly standard level of cooking for an izakaya-type menu, neither horrible nor really good. We were served cobia sashimi advertised as fluke ... tempura was oily and heavy ... lotus root was similarly over-fired and greasy ... miso soup was bland and flavorless ... all served with great fanfare, but not up-to-snuff. It is a perfectly acceptable meal, and is worth it for the experience ... but if you are expecting anything resembling a good meal in Japan, or in a better Japanese restaurant in Seattle or Los Angeles or New York, this is going to be an expensive disappointment.

Yelp
First, the food is great, so tasty. But, it's WAY overpriced. We did the EIGHT course chef's menu and were still starving by the end. At that price, after eight courses, you shouldn't be hungry, but we were. We had to order more off of the ala carte menu. The service was a bit silly - courses out of order, long pauses between courses, but very friendly. I liked the atmosphere which was very intimate. Dinner - 8 course tasting, plus extra off of ala carte, and sake - was over 200 euro. It was just too much.

Yelp
Very cool and intriguing place! Certainly a different dining experience! Great either as a couple or in a small group. The tasting menu provides a complete discovery, but next time I will stick to my favourite, which was the succulent beef. The Raki selection is amazing. I will come back next time with my colleagues for a different kind of business dinner.

Yelp
A great location, very friendly service and magnificent food. I recommend the Omakase menue - delicious :-)

Yelp
Fantastic service. They called us and confirmed that the place is not for kids. Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, good food. I haven't been to Japan so can't really compare to the real deal, but we liked what we got. The sesame mousse was excellent. The 8 course menu was very filling as well. The presentation was great too. They were a bit late with our second tea so when we asked for the bill (and asked them to cancel the tea as we had to leave) they brought the tea posthaste AND took it out of our bill. Not sure how often we will go back given the price, but definitely recommended for a visit!
