9 Best Hotels in Osaka, Japan, to Rest and Recharge | Condé Nast Traveler

"Attracting a globe-trotting mix of creative professionals and discerning leisure travelers who appreciate thoughtful design over flashy amenities, Zentis Osaka’s light-filled lobby lounge is where you might spot digital nomads tapping away at their laptops while a family of four ascends the distinctive limestone staircase that leads toward Upstairz restaurant. Expect interiors with an industrial-chic aesthetic that embraces Japanese minimalism. The 212 guest rooms are comfortably sized, with walk-in showers, a soft, earthy palette, and calligraphic brushstroke artwork above beds. Don't miss Upstairz bar, where award-winning head bartender Norihiko Furuse has created a menu of delectable cocktails, like a velvety nightcap of Oloroso sherry, Mancino vermouth, and bitters—reason enough to visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel." - Melinda Joe

Zentis Osaka (Osaka, Osaka Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the heart of Osaka’s bustling Kita Ward, steps from the north shore of the Dojima, Zentis Osaka combines the efficiency of a top-tier business hotel with the soul and network of an established boutique. That’s particularly evident across the combination cafe, bar, and terrace, an adaptable set of connected public spaces that evolve to fit the mood of the hour. Sleek rooms riff on “bento” themes with modular, functional layouts, plus full-length city views and plush Imabari linens." - Tablet Hotels

This was the best hotel of our trip. Telegraph recommended - we LOVED the room. It was so so relaxing, it had been perfectly designed for you to feel so restful after a day exploring the city. The view was also fabulous - we could see Osaka castle in the distance! We had their cheapest room and it was large. Free coffee in the reception area alongside a fabulous laundry room (iron, coffee machine, perfumes, shoe shine also all included!) meant the facilities were very well thought out and very useful. It was excellent value. We would really really recommend staying here. We didn’t have breakfast so unfortunately can’t comment

Location to nearby train stations is a big plus, especially with luggage it's nice to just pop over and be on your way. 🚉 there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby, the hotel offers breakfast but it's about 50 usd per person. That price includes a buffet and either a Japanese breakfast or a western breakfast. The bar is open until 11pm, those drink prices were very reasonable, about 60 usd for 5 drinks. They offer pajamas, razors, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, wash clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste. All wonderful.

Had a terrific 4 night stay in November 2025. The staff were terrific and my room was spacious, modern and clean. The common areas were great and the general layout of the hotel is excellent. ||The hotel is ideally situated, although it is a 10 minute walk to get to a station. It is in the more interesting part of Umeda, yet it is very quiet and peaceful.||I will definitely stay again should I return to Osaka. Thank you. ||I

Loved this hotel. It actually looks nicer in person. We booked 2 corner twin rooms and one king room. The corner rooms were bigger and much nicer, it's worth the little extra cost. The people at the front desk were very helpful and were able to speak english (which is a rarity in Japan). There's a nice lounge/bar upstairs with very friendly bartenders and an impressive cocktail menu. We didn't eat at their restaurant. There's a very nice laundry room/sitting room with a variety of coffee's to choose from. There's also a vending machine with drinks and water to purchase. A Family Mart is nearby that serves ready to eat food (which was nice when we didn't have time for a sit down breakfast) and the tempura/sushi restaurant across the street is excellent. My only complaint is that the room didn't have enough lighting. It was hard to tell if my clothes were wrinkled. Fortunately I packed a travel makeup mirror with a light.

Elegant and modern hotel that smells great from the moment you step in. Located in a central part of Osaka - approx. 15 minutes on foot to Osaka station, with plenty of amenities nearby, including a Family Mart and a McDonald's. We checked into a studio room on the 11th floor (1111), and it was fairly spacious, with a great shower and a comfortable bed. It just needs a bit more light above the bathroom mirror. The cleaners do a really good job, and all staff are very helpful and personable. The gym is really good too - it does get quite busy at times. We got two free water bottles every day, which was a nice touch.

Hotel Zentis Osaka — a heartfelt, almost Zen-like recommendation I arrived at Hotel Zentis Osaka on a warm afternoon in early August. Inside, the place feels as if it were imported straight from Scandinavia: pale woods, clean lines, and soft, natural tones. In the lobby, the staff helped me find an excellent sushi restaurant just ten minutes away – an impeccable recommendation. But it’s the bar team that truly forms the heart of the Zentis – led by two remarkable professionals, Nori (ノリ) and Yūri (ユウリ). Upon my first visit around 5 p.m., they created a cocktail perfectly tailored to my taste, and each evening thereafter greeted me with the same sense of attentiveness, refined warmth, lively humor, and a genuine feeling of friendship. Every night, Nori and Yūri asked about my day’s adventures; together we talked about life in Europe and Japan, about work, aesthetics, and the quiet art of perfecting a drink. This bar – and the people behind it – are not just a recommendation, but an experience that captures the true spirit of Osaka. After a day in the blazing inferno of Yumeshima – the site of Expo 2025 – I had never slept more soundly than back at the Zentis, whether in Osaka or Kyoto. No wonder I found myself returning a week later. As you can tell, I truly love this hotel.

Brilliant service from every single staff member. Rooms are modern and sleek, quiet and super comfortable; only thing I didn't like was the breakfast (limited options for westerners and not worth the money) but they cancelled that on my request for the second and third day of our stay without any hassle. That aside, we loved our stay and would definitely visit again.

Pretty average stay at Zentis Hotel. It looks very nice and the room was large and bright. Bed was nice and big but it was very hard including the pillows.Location was decent as it was a short walk from Osaka station and some other smaller stations. The view from the window was non existent, just another building or car park outside the window. There was an alarm clock sound that went off in one of the rooms nearby 24 hours and the only solution offered was to move me to another room but by this time I had unpacked and I didn’t want to waste more of my holiday repacking and moving. There was a lot of long black hairs over the floor, surfaces and bed, I assume from previous guests or cleaners. The room could have done with a decent hoovering. The washing machine room is nice to have however when I tried to use it, it swallowed all my cash and didn’t start so I had to get reception to fix it which they did quickly. Two out of three dryers were out of order though so there was always a lot of people waiting to use the one in action. For this price, and the issues I raised above, I’d of expected some breakfast included. All in all; very average stay and I wouldn’t come back to this hotel in a hurry.
