Zerain

2nd time visiting when I was in Madrid. It is a classic grilled room with a bit history. Personally, I like this kind restaurant very much. We ordered Chuletón as a main dish The quality of meat are outstanding as before. The service is just right with good vibe. Surprisingly, the owner played a wonder piano to entertain the guest. I thought it was on record, but live performance. Highly recommend to visit the place if you are in town!

This is a classy basque style restaurant with traditional decor located in Heurtas neighborhood. It was my first meal in Madrid with my Madrid’s family upon my arrival and the service was wonderful. There was a nice soft music played by a pianist enhancing Zerain’s old school’s charming vibe. Their Iberico ham was moist and rich in flavor with deep ruby color, which melted in our mouth! We also love their fresh baked cod (moist and fresh)! Of course, a bottle of Rioja wine complemented the meal perfectly with my lovely family. I love it so much that I took my friend to this establishment when she arrived in Madrid like the next day 😊

The food and service were good and fairly priced. I thought they would have a better selection of meats being a basque restaurant however the medallones de solomillo were tasty and well prepared. I do agree with other reviewers that the lighting could be dimmed a little.

Northern Spanish cuisine is served at this charming old world establishment. I adore the restaurant's setting, which is quite traditional. The cuisine was great, the service fantastic. The waiters went out of their way to find out what you wanted. They also gave you options. Highly recommended.

The place was loud and the food was pretty mediocre, especially considering how much it cost. The restaurant's fine and the staff was nice but I wouldn't recommend it.

Having dinner at the Zerain makes you not only enter the Basque Country, but also go back in time, back to the childhood of Adelaida who founded in the 1997 with her son Koldo this restaurant to bring to Madrid the typical flavours of her Country. You will se her looking after you and taking care of you during the meal as a mother does with her children for whom she has cooked a special dish. While there ask for suggestions to Koldo or one of the gentle waiters and you won't regret! All your senses will sparkle and enjoy the experience. You won't forget any taste you try

Lovely restaurant with very friendly service. The food was amazing and had lots of vegetarian friendly options. We had the best time.
