Zest Ristorante & Wine Bar

Best pasta I had in my trip. Service was good. They provide small size of food for kids. The large tube pasta was huge but chewy and delicious with mushrooms and truffle sauce. Staff were very friendly and passionate. Loved all.

My friends and I wandered into Zest by chance, and we’re so glad we did! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful—warm, inviting, and very charming. The food was outstanding, with every dish expertly prepared. Our server was a true highlight: kind, funny, and incredibly attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and happy. The chef is clearly talented—each meal served was wonderful. We loved our experience so much that we ended up making the drive—over an hour—just to come back a few days later. It was totally worth it and we each highly recommend, it’s such a great experience!

Very nice Service and place. We appreciated the Ambiente, the location with the view and the food. We had a very competent service (Naples style;-) with good suggestions on the whine and food. Make sure you reserve a table with the view to the cathedral than it’s “all in”.

Great little place. We have two kids and the menu wasn't exactly to their taste. We didn't researched that before since we just planned to eat their spontaneously. The waiter however recommended, all on his own, however that they could make a simple pomodoro pasta for them which was a big relief for us! The food was amazing. Especially for the price. Do recommend!

This was the best restaurant in Siena. We had such a great experience at this place. We sat down and immediately was taken aback by the amazing view from this random alley in Siena. You could see the whole duomo from where we were sitting. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The staff was very friendly and had plenty of suggestions. We will definitely come back here if we are ever in Siena again.

Really nice place. We enjoyed our evening there, all the stuff was friendly and professional. We really felt taken care of. The food was alright, to enjoy but not to remember. Menu is a bit basic. Nevertheless I still highly recommend spending your evening there, if I come back to Siena I would visit Zest again.

The place was gorgeous, the waiter was really nice and responsive. We had the Risotto and Beef Lasagna, they were both good, not amazing but we enjoyed them all in all. We also ordered Diet Coke, and all of that including service was 60€.

Let's get the best part out of the way: eating on a sloping backstreet overlooking the rooftops of Siena is an ideal setting that could vindicate most any food. Regrettably the setting had a lot of heavy lifting to do to balance out the sad salad I had. The beets were altogether undercooked and not even the respectable feta could lend enough flavor to the bland ingredients. A college cafeteria salad bar could offer a similar meal, but still, it's hard to argue with the atmosphere.

What can I say. This restaurant, located in a long alley heading down into the heart of Siena is just outstanding. We had so many options while staying a week in Siena and we kept coming back to Zest. Absolutely outstanding service, ambiance and food. Nice, varied menu. Excellent excellent wines. I recommend you ask the waiter to recommend wine for your meal. They knock it out of the park every time. Incredible value.

Wonderful food, great service, and a spectacular view! It was the best of many good meals we had in Siena.

I recently did 2 1/2 weeks all over Italy and I am not kidding you when I say their parmigiana de melenzane was my favorite thing is ate the entire trip. It was tender and succulent with a bright tomato sauce, béchamel, parm and fresh basil. I will try and recreate this dish again and again. If the owners see this and want to share the recipe I will die happy. Can't recommend enough. Also the dining outside is adorable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic view of the duomo from the outside tables. Food really good. We had a nice salad, risotto (yum) and a. Pasta with sausage. All was good. Service was excellent. The best we've had in several weeks in Italy. Did not try desserts so can't review them. Highly recommend this place!

we stopped by for a glass of wine and decided to stay for dinner. We have had many great meals while in Italy for a week and this is a standout!! AMAZING!!!!

Ditched the tourist trap our travel agent booked for us to go to Zest. Besides being on a steep hill with a fantastic view of Siena that is unforgettable by itself, the food was truly off the charts. We ordered 4 entrees and couldn't agree on which one was the best, because they were all so so good. I may come back to Siena just to eat here. Its a 10 hour flight, but the food was really good.

I love Siena, Tuscany and the Zest! My favorite restaurant, hidden gem. Their pasta (any) is absolutely amazing (and I'm not even pasta connoisseur to be honest). The desserts are out of this world. We had lemon tiramisu which was recommended by our waiter. It didn't disappoint. Must try when in Siena!

Wonderful, one of the best meals I've had in years. My gnocchi was beautifully soft and the location was simply transcendent.

I loved my dinner here. The outdoor seating is so unique, with tables built to perch hillside. My friend was convinced we were going to topple over backwards, so midway through our appetizers we switched to the other side of the table where we could face downhill. :) I had the steak, on a bed of arugula with tomatoes and shaved grana. It was fantastic. This is definitely a great choice in Siena.

Decent place to eat, but it's a medium priced and the food isn't the best out of every other place in Siena. But it is still a good, decent restaurant

Zest is a little gem tucked away on a quiet street with a stunning view. We came here in search of gluten free food and were not disappointed. Staff are very conscious of gluten free items on the menu (there are many), and they offer several different gluten free pasta options. Grilled octopus was amazing. As was the passion fruit panna cotta. Their outdoor seating, hugging the side of the building, offers an awesome view of the Duomo in the distance. Fantastic experience all around.

I'm 79 years old and this is the best meal I have ever experienced. The view was incredible; Siena's most beautiful cathedral in view during every bite. The food was unbelievable. Each bite felt tailored to my exact preferences. I had forgotten the majesty of food made by a master chef. I cannot recommend this restaurant more.

Fantastic spot a bit off the beaten path, but with a stellar view of the Duomo in the distance. After several days in Italy (including a delightful meal at a Michelin Star place in Rome), the tagliatelle with mushroom and sausage was the best thing we've had so far. A truly superlative experience!

Homemade pasta, home sauces. All yummy. Everything we tried was wonderful. Had 4 pasta dishes ravioli, spaghetti, gnocchi and the pici al ragu ( which was exceptional ) Great service

This was the best meal so far after one week in Italy. We had the tagliatelle with mushrooms and sausage, and the saltimbocca, followed by the passion fruit pana cotta. The food, incredibly panoramic setting, and friendly & attentive staff (especially Diana) make this restaurant a must while in Siena.

I just had a glass of Chianti here but the experience was lovely. Sat outside on the tiered steps, soaked in the spectacular view of the tower and the duomo, and napped a bit under the Tuscan sun.

What an incredible meal! I highly recommend it. The service was genuinely kind and accommodating. If you have the chance sit outside and see the most gorgeous view of the Duomo! I had the salmon with pistachio crust and the pesto pasta with peas and broccoli. The salads are incredibly fresh...some of the best tomatoes I've ever eaten! They let me sit for hours enjoying my meal and the view. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Siena.

This was our second choice of restaurant whilst in Siena; the first place was closed and my travel mate had read decent things about Zest elsewhere. First off, the gals inside were AMAZING. So friendly, so accommodating, so sweet (and gorgeous to boot!). We were delivered our meals very quickly and oh. my. gods. My gluten free spaghetti and ragu were to die for. I was very adventurous on my trip abroad, but felt I had to try a simple ragu somewhere and I'm so glad I did so at Zest. My mate's pasta was perfect, too. Our roasted potatoes were way too much to eat, but still so good and I had to beg the servers to take them away so I would stop eating them. My mate's chianti she ordered was apparently divine, as well. There was a bit of a snafu with some American girls in the restaurant and the waitresses were still so wonderful to them, even though the tourists were being sort of (innocently) jerky. That's some serious good service there. It's harder to recommend a restaurant to everyone that's not in your own back yard, but please please PLEASE, if you're going to Siena, stop in to Zest. You will not regret it.

Loved it!! We got 4 pasta dishes and everyone was different and awesome! Great find just down the street as we glanced walking by. Pici with wild boar was insane!

Mediocre food. Nice view. High prices. We won't be going back. The chicken was ok. Steak was fine. Calamari was my favorite part, but was really only ok. Waitstaff was very friendly.

Very average food which seemed overpriced compared to other meals we've had in Siena. Staff were friendly and outdoor seating was nice but nothing to write home about!

The options here were fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely. You're hidden down a little Italian side street. Gluten free options for you fellow celiacs out there. A little bit on the privet side but is well worth it because of the kind waiters and amazing food.

What a great little find on a side alley that is so steep your heart will stop. But, all kidding aside this is the place for some great local food with incredible sidewalk dining service at a great price. We loved it and Adriana was the best server we could imaging.

Had a great meal sitting out on the street looking at town. We had several meals in Sienna and this was the best one. The steak salad was terrific.
