This is one of the best museums I have visited in last many years particularly as it relates to the artifacts belonging to a particular era and area more particularly the quality of the mosaics that have been restored and displayed in the museum. These mosaics are of top notch quality. The craftsmanship involved in creating them some many centuries ago is simply breathtaking.

The museum is impressive! A huge collection of mosaics made 2-3 thousand years ago! There are a very few such museums in the world and I am very glad that I managed to get here. The mosaics are very beautiful, their sizes are amazing. It's incredible that 2000+ years ago people could already make such beauty out of pebbles :) The flooded city of Zeugma, from where all these mosaics were taken, is located 100-200 km away and you can also go there. We also saw the most popular mosaic “Gypsy” - it is located in a black room where mysterious music is playing and nothing distracts you from contemplation. The mosaic really looks extraordinary and it is a piece of a huge broken and not restored mosaic. There is a QR code for the audio guide on the museum tickets (the MuzeKart application), be sure to install the application on your phone, scan the QR code to listen to the history of the exhibits. The app is free, you only need a ticket. Ask the cashier to help you with the installation. I definitely recommend this museum to everyone who will be in Gaziantep or just passing by.

After visiting the Bardo National Museum in Tunisia, this museum did not impress me much even though it is the biggest mosaic museum in the world. The only special here maybe is the gypsy girl. A lot of the mosaics display have missing pieces. When entering the mosaic room (where gypsy girl mosaic was located) the experience was stressful as the security was following you closely as though you were going to take away the national treasure.😅😅. Some of the mosaic also placed in the weird location.(No way u could view it). The entrance fee is around 438 TL(12 Euro) for foreigners which is a bit steep.

The scale of the museum and the quality of the exhibits is great but honestly there wasn’t enough information available to understand what I was looking at in many cases. The museum curators need to do a better job of explaining the history and significance of the mosaics and the motifs displayed.

Magnificent Roman-Empire-times mosaics from the nearby Zeugma town that was flooded by dam in 1990’s. Extremely well done museum that is very heavily visited yet the it is so spacious and well divided that it did not feel crowded. A must-do.

What a museum! The history that contains this museum is speechless. Wonderful mosaics are present. A tremendous effort has been made by the archeologists and the city of Gaziantep to show those masterpieces to the world.

Incredible collection of mosaics, including the famous gypsy girl. The displays are well organized. Expect to spend over an hour to see the whole museum, which has three floors across two building sections. Admission was 12 Euro in April 2024.
