Zhouyu - A Chinese Kitchen

Starting the year with some really good food . The portion size was perfect for a group of 5 . We had ordered quite alot of starters. Shitake in chilli oil , pepper mushrooms, crystal dumplings, broccoli dumplings , 24 hrs marinated tofu .. uff all these hit the taste buds on point . Classic bubble tea - the tea was super bland. Literally no taste for the tea. The boba were nice bubbly but warm overall won't recommend it. Pepper mushroom bao - The bao was over steamed that made it hard to chew. It had lost it moisture which made it dry. The tiramisu was heavenly . Overall the food was really good and we enjoyed.

Pretty good place. This is the second time in a couple of years that I am visiting this place. The last time I was here, I had veg items which I didnt quite like and I avoided this place for years. I got to visit it again yesterday and had the mutton broth soup, spicy chicken dumplings, shitake mushroom dumplings, two types of noodles that I dont remember the name anymore. The desserts were quite good too. Baileys tres leche and tiramisu were really good. I loved every bite of it.

recently visited Zhouyu and had a great experience with the food. The momos were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the fried rice was perfectly prepared. A standout for me was the chocolate mousse, which was absolutely lovely. However, there were a few downsides to the visit. The service felt a bit cold, as the staff weren't particularly warm or professional. Additionally, the ambiance is very open, which might not be ideal if you're looking for a cozy or private dining setting. Overall, come for the excellent Chinese flavors, but keep in mind the open atmosphere and service style."

Zhouyu says they are a Chinese kitchen but i did see some South Asian dishes in the menu which is actually welcome for me. This branch is in Alwarpet in a nice location. The hostess and the waiting staffs are ok but with a little training and supervision could have taken this service quality much higher but I don't blame the young girls for thier lack of training. It is the responsibility of the management to train them about smiles, friendliness and warmth. The restaurant itself is well spread out and well lit. It does not feel crowded despite the Saturday evening rush. It could easily seat about 60 to 75 pax. The interior is good but does feel like an upscale restaurant but saying that it is not bad either. We ordered a spicy Dimsum for a starter. The dimsum itself was not spicy but tasted above average. The dimsum was not soft as I wanted it to be. We ordered the Chicken Hakka Noodles the chicken did not have any flavour whatsoever. The Noodles was nice and flavourful. The Chongquin Chicken Fried rice was very nice and flavourful. The Yuxiang Prawns was very tasty but the number of medium sized prawns was too less to justify the cost of 750 rupees. It was pretty dry dish whereas we were expecting a dish with gravy. Over all an experience bordering on the right side of average. I will not run back to Zhouyu but will not say no the next time. I wish them well and improve training of staffs. The girls are good girls but need training on warmth and friendliness. Good luck Zhouyu hope you guys in the management will listen to my suggestions.

The food was great. We ordered a tofu dimsum and the crispy sesame eggplant for appetisers. While the tofu wasn’t great, the eggplant was awesome. Indonesian pot was good too, the noodles with oyster mushrooms and tofu was yummy. Again, we didn’t like the tofu texture much. Its not the silken tofu that you expect. Great flavours. Nice Ambience. Thoughtful service. Don’t order the tofu, but don’t miss the bubble tea!! 😊

Arguably the closest Chinese Singapore cuisine you can find in India. Although cater to local palate, they come closest to authenticity. Well prepared and fresh. Service somehow doesn't match up. Restaurant was empty and the servers prefer to group for casual conversation instead of providing required service. Probably the rank one of lowest service quality in India.

Ecr branch impressed me a lot. So tried the alwarpet branch. Unfortunately disappointed with the service. Ecr branch staffs are 100 times better in everything. When we visted only we were there, did not care to take finished up dishes plates and we insisted to take it and even then our table was not cleared. Our table looked messy till we finished. It was the other way round in ecr. Each time we finished a dish, the empty plates were cleared off. Though they were busy and i went on a crowded day. Opposite here in the alwarpet branch. Not crowded, mostly all the staffs were just standing and giggling.food was everything was great. We were charged service charge for no service done. Especially with fish, we had difficulty serving. Thought they saw us finding difficult, did not care to come and serve. I dont know why the staffs are like this. Next time i would not visit this branch definitely.

Tried Filter Coffee Boba, Chongqing Noodles here and they were great. Gai Lan, Wintermelon Soy Soup were not up to my taste though. This place deserves to be in the top 50 restaurants in the country considering the wide variety of items on the menu.
