Best happy hour in town! Zia’s never disappoints. Olivia was our server and she was on point. She was so attentive, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and professional. She made our experience even better. We enjoyed a couple of pizzas, meatballs, and cocktails for happy hour and we were extremely impressed! Highly recommend!

Overall 3.9/5. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Food was a step above olive garden. Prices were 2 steps above. My wifes sausage and peppers were the best part. The chicken marsala was watery, and the sauce should have been thicker. Limited menu with no steak options. The appetizer was good. The berry sangria was the best sangria that I've tasted, but after drinking a whole pitcher, I didn't have a buzz. Service was phenomenal and atmosphere was good. I don't know if I will come back or save $50 and just go eat at olive garden.

We’ve just moved to Toledo temporarily, and everyone has been recommending this restaurant, so we decided to give it a try for dinner. The restaurant is quite spacious with outdoor seating, and it’s beautifully decorated. We started with the antipasto salad, which was on the smaller side and topped with diced chicken—an interesting twist. My husband ordered the lasagna, which he enjoyed, while I had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. The chicken was great, but the spaghetti was a bit bland. Our server, Olivia, was incredibly sweet and attentive, making our meal even more enjoyable.

Arriving at Zia's my husband and I were met by a friendly receptionist who sat us promptly. After being seated we were greeted by Derek, our waiter, who was very attentive and cared for us with professionalism and charisma. Our appetizer of prosciutto bruschetta and dishes, rigatoni and chicken marsala were perfectly cooked and seasoned, plated in a very appealing manner. We highly recommend!

Google
The place is nice on the inside and everyone is friendly. The server was very awesome. The food okay, but it the greatest we have ever tasted. It took a good while to get our food. Over all if you are looking for over the top Italian Food this, in my opinion is not it.

Google
What a hidden gem in Toledo. My son picked the restaurant we were visiting, the University of Toledo. In our drive around the city Zia's came up. The calamari was the freshest we have every had and delicious. All of us took food back to the hotel as the portions were generous. Great service .

Google
First time visiting this restaurant. As you would expect the wait staff was friendly and we were seated relatively prompt. The inside of this restaurant has a really nice aesthetic and it's located on the river. The food itself was pretty good. The chocolate cake is definitely not a cake it's a chocolate brownie.

Came here for my birthday dinner, my husband and I were greeted immediately and had fast and friendly service! Amazing food as well, the vanilla martini was the best I ever had.

Yelp
We recently visited Zia's Italian in Toledo and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. When we arrived, we told the hostess we were a party of four for dinner. She asked if we had reservations, and when we said no, she replied "no problem." I then asked if anyone had already arrived for our group (we were meeting two friends), and she said no. I glanced into the dining room--it was completely empty--so we waited in the lobby for about 10-15 minutes. I didn't want to rush our friends with a text, figuring they might be running just a few minutes behind. After a while, I finally texted, and they responded, "Yes, we're here... in the back." They were the only table in the entire dining room. How did the hostess not know they were there? Or at the very least, check for us when we asked? We ended up seating ourselves. Dinner itself was fine--our waitress was kind--but there were a few red flags worth noting. They charge a 3% service fee regardless of whether you pay with credit card or cash, and I didn't see that disclosed online or on the menu. Also, one of the main reasons we chose Zia's was because their website says they serve Olga's from their kitchen until 6pm. The plan was for the guys to get pasta, and the gals to have Olgas. Turns out--they no longer offer that, even though it's still listed online. The food was good, but with the lack of communication, outdated info, and unexpected fees, we likely won't return. Too many missteps for what could've been a simple, enjoyable night out.

Yelp
I liked the free bread, pasta was tasty, but spaghetti could be way better, had a lake outside with a nice view. Had a great time. Totally would recommend it and come again. You should definitely check it out. #pasta #pizza #Zia's

Yelp
Good old Zia's has a fantastic happy hour that you won't want to miss! It probably offers the best happy hour in town, with affordable drinks and delicious food at fair prices. I love the Italian margarita--it's so delicious, and the sugar rim makes it even better! The pizza is probably my favorite in all of Toledo; it's not as greasy as many of the others around here. The meatballs are always perfectly cooked and delicious, and the service is fast in a great atmosphere.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Zia's thanks to Yelp! Food was good, service also good, unassuming ambiance, and prices were reasonable. It seems as if the major part of Zia's business is based on take out orders. Quite a steady stream of people coming in for take out while we were there.

Yelp
Talk about a nosedive in dining experience. I remember coming here 4-5 years ago and having the best experience. Everything used to be five stars all around. A go to spot for all occasions. Last couple times I've been in it's been nothing but disappointment. Popped in last month when our first choice wasn't available. Wednesday night and it was dead, never a good sign. Place used to always be busy, no matter what. Drinks were mixed poorly. Bread was hard and not in the food way. Lasagna was decent but not great. Menu seems far less impressive than it used to be. The orange cream cheesecake was great though. We have a lot of Italian options here in town. Go frequent them before spending money in this ghost town. Hopefully things change and this once beloved place can come back to its former glory.

Yelp
This is my first review of this place. Although my wife and I have been there twice now. Once in June this year and this past Sunday 7/14/24 The first time we were seated out on the patio, enjoying the sunset on the Maumee River. Yesterday we're were seated inside due to the chance of rain was still eminent. Service was quick and very polite. The atmosphere of the establishment was very Italian. And the food was very good.

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner on our way back to Cleveland from a trip. It's a really cool restaurant! They have a library room that I would love to eat in during winter - so cozy. We ended up sitting in the patio to enjoy the last warm nights of the year. It was a very cute patio with a giant tree. It just really needed a good sweep. I think they should also put out anti-bug stuff as it was a little buggy. The food was good, they had gluten free pasta (yay!) with a truffle cream sauce. It was extremely delicious. I'd share more variety but my husband and I got the same thing. I got a martini and it was perfect. Our server was really nice and checked on us pretty regularly.

Yelp
Love Zia's. Food is Great Italian Margaritas are even better than Great. Staff are Fantastic, Knowledgeable and Friendly

Yelp
First time here. It was a beautiful sunny day, they have a nice patio and we were excited to have a few drinks. We didn't realize that had a Happy Hour going. We decided to sit inside at the bar instead. The hosts were friendly. I explained my allergies to see if eating was even an option. She checked with the kitchen and assured me it wouldn't be an issue. Drinks took awhile. The bartender was slammed so we waited patiently. She was friendly and helpful. I wish there were more drink options, and better wine options for Happy Hour. Neither wine was very good in my opinion so I ordered off the regular menu. Maybe that's the point. We ordered a couple of drinks and inquired again about food. Our server/bartender, told us something completely different from the host, which actually made more sense. Awhile later, another server showed up randomly to let me know he spoke with the kitchen. He told me other items than our server had. Then she came back to check and then the manager stopped by. It was all very confusing to say the least. I was appreciative of them trying to ensure my safety. I just didn't understand how so many people could speak with the kitchen, yet have different conversations. There's only one kitchen. My husband ordered the Meatballs. He thought they were a bit dry, probably better that morning, but he liked the taste and the sauce. I ordered the pizza with artichoke (no sauce) as it was my only happy hour option. It was tasty. The crust is a bit too thin and I usually like thin pizzas. We enjoyed watching the crust and pizzas being made.

Yelp
Zia's is amazing. Very great options for vegetarians. Second, wonderful service. Third, the salad, bread and pasta, were delicious. Fourth, the prices were very good. I highly recommend Zia's and we will be back!

Yelp
My wife is from England and for five years we have been looking for the perfect arrabbiata sauce that reminds her of the spicy pasta served back home. We finally found it at Zia's. Perfect amount of spice, without it taking form the flavor. I had the bolognese, delicious! Great portions for the price. The ravioli fritta was also a hit. Will be back! Fast service, we sat in the bar area to enjoy the happy hour deals (even offered on weekends). Quiet, classy inside with stone fire oven and open kitchen which just add to the experience !

Tami D.

Yelp
The food was incredible. Sat at the bar and enjoyed happy hour until 9. Monday thru Thursday.

Yelp
Nice ambiance in the restaurant and we had a wonderful server that kept everything moving along at an appropriate pace. Had the chicken pesto pasta and it was delicious. I Ben better heated up the next day!

Yelp
I want to commend Zia's Chef on Friday August 2 at approx 5:00 pm who made my dining experience exceptional. I have numerous food allergies. These are listed on a laminated card issued by my doctor. My server was not fully comprehending the severity of my allergies nor the ingredients of specific entrees. However, the chef came to the rescue by coming to my table and suggesting appropriate dishes. He also explained to me the food preparation process used avoid any potential cross contamination issues. I'm so pleased that the chef was able to assist me and did so without making me feel like a burden.

Yelp
7/10. Beautiful food presentation. Very delicious. Cute atmosphere with lake to look at. Good broad range of drinks as well. Inside is clean and professional. Dim lights made a cute date night. My husband scarfed his plate down like a rabid animal. I had the ravioli. Very good. Nicely cooked. Noodle isn't too over done. But not not too under cooked. Very perfect. Very satisfied. Portions might not exactly satisfy a grown man, just depends what you get. The staff are nice. Always asking if we needed anything. Definitely recommend coming here.

Yelp
Haven't had a chance to stop back since they have re-opened on 4/20. One of the best places for happy hour specials. Great pizzas and several choices of mussels when you sit at the bar. They used to serve a free large pizza for parties of 6 or more. I look forward to checking them out again soon.

Yelp
The exceptional food and top-notch service make it a five-star dining destination. Highly recommended! Our server Michelle did a fantastic job with recommendations.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I have been here. Had a less than stellar experience in the past. That has been years... My wife and daughter got me back by ensuring me that things were better. So, I did. Wow, a great visit. The food amazing. The Pesto crushed it. The service was by far the best I have had for a long time. Jarrah, great job. Offered great tips on my meal and wine choice. Watched her bartend and serve. Awesome martinis, skill there.. She is so good. Very warm to her guests and a beautiful smile. The manager was all over it. Helping his staff and interacting with the guests. He gave you the feeling that they were all happy to have you here. I'm glad I came back. You definitely regained a fan. Beautiful place and amazing meal. Thank you for the night.

Yelp
Very average Italian restaurant, I thought it was a little pricey but the portion was appropriate. I wasn't expecting to be dazzled by Italian like in the north end of Boston or some other place with rich Italian history but I wasn't upset with my meal. Nothing great, nothing bad. Average. Didn't have any drinks but the bartender was attentive and welcoming.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the two best Italian restaurants in Toledo. Absolutely the best lasagna in marinara sauce I've ever had. Ring on the the Docks the ambiance is wonderful with outside dining available by the river. Good selection of wine and specialty cocktails ( the Lemonchello Martini rocks). Service is outstanding and selection is awesome. My favorite place for special occasions with family

Yelp
You will never dine anywhere more comforting and timeless throughly enjoying my dinner of mushroom soup and spaghetti and meatballs. Very classy all around.

Yelp
I'll first off saying the the staff was very friendly and did a great job serving us. The problem was the food. We had bruschetta and some other app. The bread on the bruschetta was burnt and overly hard. The. They brought out the table bread which would have been good if it wasn't so dry. It came with an olive tapenade that was delicious, yet it still didn't help the dry table bread. Then we got our salads. The house salad I was told was good. I had a Cesar salad and to be honest, it was the worst Cesar Salad I've ever had. It had a bitter bite to it and very little dressing. It was very odd tasting. The other person who ordered it claimed the same thing. I really do not recommend the Cesar Salad here. Now it was time for our entrees. They looked delicious and couldn't wait to eat it. Everyone said the were delicious. Although I took two bites of mine and it was luke warm at best. The sauce was cold and the lasagna was Luke warm if that. I understand it's something that has to be made in advance, but it shouldn't have been that temp. I just couldn't eat it. I will admit they did take it off my bill and I appreciated that. Like I said service wasn't an issue. It was the quality of the food. I don't mind spending $$$ for a meal if it's a quality meal. We all were really disappointed in the food. I'm not sure any of us will return unfortunately.

Yelp
Great service, food, and ambiance. Recommend the pesto pasta. The Christmas decorations were great

Christina B.

Yelp
30 minutes after we were seated we finally got water!! We had a reservation and were only a table of 2. We waited over an hour for food Asked 5 times for bread and oil, waiter forgot our drink order and it was incorrect. Salads had barely any dressing. I'm just a bit frustrated but the food is barely okay and it's pretty pricey for what you get. I'm not one to write a negative review, as a matter of fact this is my first ever, they have to do a better job! Other patrons were equally frustrated with service and I watched some leave.

Yelp
10/10 Food. Waitress was amazing and fun. Great Food and highly HIGHLY recommend. Best food in Toledo.

Yelp
We decided to check out Zia's for ourselves & are very glad we did. We had a reservation & were seated immediately. Service was friendly - not only our waitress, but also the hostess & all the staff we encountered. We especially enjoyed the focaccia bread & olive butter that they provide. They make this in-house & it was delicious! We ordered a flight of Chianti's- fun to try three different varieties. Our entrees, chicken Parmesan & a shrimp pasta were both very good! Desserts are also made from scratch, so we got a tiramisu to go. It was very good & we loved that it was served alongside a little bit of strawberry/blueberry. After dinner, it was great to go outside, along the river, and take in the view of Toledo & the Christmas lights. We enjoyed our first visit to Zia's - food, service, & ambiance - and look forward to visiting again soon!

Yelp
This restaurant is located over the bridge and not far from the Renaissance hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle to this location and pretty much anywhere else you would like to go within a 3 mile radius. I had the Salmon Di Spinaci for dinner. It was a good sized Grilled Salmon Filet topped with a tomato lemon vinaigrette over lightly sautéed Spinach , caramelized onions and mushrooms. I opted that they take out the corn that normally comes on the plate as I am not a fan. I was pleasantly surprised on how much I liked this dish, it was the perfect portion compared to my colleagues dinners which were huge!

Ryan And Sophie S.

Yelp
My wife and I come here quite frequently. We like it there; laid back Italian place. However, it has been three to four weeks since I have been there and my wife went there last week. I noticed on the bill that there was a 3% convenience fee added. I asked the bartender that I don't want to pay this and he said I had to. I asked what the convenience fee was for and he said to help with food costs and to cover credit cards that use royalty points or money to pay for the dining experience. I said what. I mentioned that I was paying cash and he said it did not matter. On top of this, the fee fluctuates depending on how much you spend which really doesn't make sense to me. If I buy more or less, it sounds like a floating tax. Cmon Main Street ventures. I would love a response to this.
google avatar

Therese H.

Yelp
Had a great time at Zia's ! The happy hour is the best in Toledo and the meals are so huge you always have some to take home!
google avatar

Yelp
If you try to go on the weekend, I would definitely suggest making a reservation online because it can get crowded. The decor is fun and random as there is a fountain that's not always running around the tables, a big chandelier lamp on another table, a faux vineyard like structure in a different corner and glass bottles hanging from the ceiling in one part of the room. When you walk to your table, it will smell overwhelmingly like fish. Staff are friendly, but he would forget some of our requests like for extra bread. He also took awhile to come check in on us before we ordered and between courses. Caprese salad: too much onion! But good. (Comes with an entree for $6 more) 3.5/5 Swordfish: could have used more of the rub, but the Parmesan risotto with it was good. 3.75/5 Seafood risotto: this was tasty with different kinds of seafood like crab, shrimp, mussels, and clams. Nice creaminess. 4/5 If you can get a table by the window, you'll have a nice view of the skyline and river. Overall, I thought the food was solid but only okay and the service was subpar.

jessica f.

Yelp
The waiter took 20 minutes to come after we were already seated. The food was horrible. The salad was not what I thought I was ordering and the salmon was salty. Overall, not worth the price or the experience and I will not be returning.

Dave N.

Yelp
We drove 90 miles from Michigan to eat here, what a mistake. Sat outside on the river. Birds crapped on our table....(Maumee River in July and nothing happening-pathetic Toldeo). Service was poor, Food was fair. $12.25 for a vodka & tonic in Toledo are you kidding me.....In a super slow re-development neighborhood district. Pass this place up for your own good.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
This is a fantastic location right on the river. Now don't miss the road as you go over the bridge. If you do keep your head down and keep the car moving. Your going in a tough neighborhood. Where they fall down is the food and temperature. The room got colder and colder till many in our party put their coats back on. My chicken was so tough on my salad it took forever to chew it. And they bathed my salad in dressing to the point I had to stop eating it as I was having a dressing seizure. It Cesar for pete's sake.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
This place has a nice atmosphere. They have a deck in back for outdoor seating on the Maumee river. Summer of course. . Also it's a short ride from lake Erie by boat and you can pull up dock side. Have been to this location several times. Service is usually good, but on this occasion they forgot to put in my sons meal. Waited almost an hour. They have good happy hour specials on food and drinks if you sit at the bar.or bar area.

Yelp
Stephanie was great food was even better. She was slammed at the bar and managed her time extremely well

Yelp
Pretty impressed with Zia's. My husband and his family decided to come to Zia's right before the Christmas holiday. We made a reservation (for 8) in-advance and were seated upon arriving. Our service was also great, and they kept our drinks filled. We started with the house made bread, fried ravioli and the calamari. If I were to come back, I would definitely order the ravioli again. It was fried perfectly, yet still soft and tender. The calamari was Ok- nothing special. For my meal, I opted for the chicken marsala. Our server was able to adjust the side of potatoes for a side of fettuccine alfredo as I was craving some type of noodle. My husband ordered the same thing. The dish was HUGE! My chicken took over the entire plate and also came with a side of green beans. It was very tender and cut like butter. The flavor was on point. For the pasta side, I enjoyed the alfredo, you could tell it was homemade and the fresh parmesan on it complemented it well. If I would of known the size of the portion, my husband and I could have easily split the meal by ordering another side to share. For the value, the meal was great. Everyone else at our table seemed to also enjoy their meals. The winners of the night were the chicken marsala and seafood pasta and risotto.

Yelp
So, it was a nice waterfront restaurant but bring your VISA card. I am unclear on the dollar signs rule, but I feel like this place charges $$$ not $$ as other reviews indicate.

Yelp
The food was really wonderful, and not nearly as expensive as I thought. Our waitress was wonderful, very responsive, and helpful. The atmosphere on the river was really cool, and the interior is really quite nice

Yelp
We were in the area for my birthday. When we arrived we were seated immediately. I had a lovely view of the river. Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and made us feel like we were his only customers. The food arrived in a timely manner and was mouth watering. If I am ever back I certainly will dine here again.

Yelp
They have lovely waterfront views from this restaurant! I enjoyed the flavorful pesto chicken pasta and very rich chocolate cake.

Yelp
Went for Valentine's Day wirh my husband, amazing service. Super clean atmosphere, and all the food was amazing. Yes, its worth the money you'll spend. Note: We reserved a table, the table was ready when we arrived, no waiting!
google avatar

Yelp
Ciante bottles hanging from rafters as you walk in. Great Italian food. My first visit was a little turned around. I arrived by boat, from the back of the restaurant, I did not know this until we left. So, saying this, the restaurant is along the river with a beautiful view of the city. I recommend reservations around sunset, worth it. We started off with a long, thin crust pizza appetizer propped up on two sauce cans. I had the meat ravioli and was very happy with my decision. Fresh, flavorful, great sauce and great atmosphere.

Yelp
Zias is bad... Michael Jackson bad... you know how he looked really bad at the end of his life. This one time I went there and got this chicken parm and it was good... on Opposite Day! Also it cost 20 bucks. Awful food. And the waitress cussed at me on the way out! What is this Dicks last resort? &#%* you too Debra!

Yelp
For Mother's Day, May 9, 2021, my husband and I, along with my parents, traveled from Lima, OH, for a long-awaited return trip to Zia's. Absolutely wonderful service, food, atmosphere... everything! Our server, Virginia, was so attentive, very knowledgeable about the dishes, and she has such a great personality that it made the visit to our favorite restaurant even more delightful. Toward the end of our meal, the manager, Drew, stopped by to chat with us for a few minutes. He is as charming as he is professional and there's no doubt that business will continue to flourish with this man at the helm. We always have the best food and service at Zia's, and it was marvelous to enjoy another dining experience there. So happy that they have reopened for business and are serving patrons. Sincere thanks to their entire staff for making a special day even more lovely for my mother. I honestly believe that if they could have stopped the rain for us so the meal could have been served outdoors, they wouldn't have hesitated to do just that!

Yelp
Downright terrible. I don't know if people in Toledo have just never tasted decent Italian food or if they just don't care, but if you're visiting in the area, save yourself from this place. I was in town for a week in April 2018. Service was atrocious - it took 15 minutes just to get our drink order and they're were a total of 5 tables seated in the entire restaurant on a Thurs evening. The bruschetta was soggy as all get out and practically inedible. The pizza was a store bought crust and greasier than anything I'd had in recent memory including the corner pizza by the slice joint. When I asked to have prosciutto added to the margarita pizza - I got pancetta instead which is not the same especially when they listed both options as potential toppings. Oh and they use store bought pasta from a box but still charge you $20+ for an entree. M'osteria on the other side of the river is better with homemade pasta and much better service.

Yelp
Zia's was once my favorite restaurant! It used to be amazing, but now is a different story. The food tasted terrible and the prices were outrageous! Definitely won't be coming back for a while.

Yelp
Well, like most times we go out to eat, there's always a back story. This time, my Wife and I wanted to go out to eat after having a long day meeting with a landscape designer. We were very hungry but we couldn't agree on a restaurant. After driving around downtown Toledo and my wife searching the menus of many places we finally settled on Zia's Italian Restaurant down on the docks. We had not been there before so my Wife was a little reluctant to experiment when she is famished. The inside of Zia's is terrific. Once inside, you forget that you are in Toledo. Pleasant aromas of baked Mozzarella , Marinara, Alfredo, seared sausage and Garlic floats all throughout the restaurant. After being seated, our server, Brittney came to our booth with a nice bottle of wine to sample. We lived in Europe for two years and the wonderful foodie city of Louisville, however, this was the FIRST time a server brought out a bottle of wine to our booth for us to sample. Another first, Brittney introduced the chef as "Sonny." Plus, she explained that everything is prepared daily from scratch including desserts. My Wife ordered a bowl of minestrone soup which was presented piping hot. Brittney poured the soup into the bowl from a sterling silver container that looked like Aladdin's Lamp. The table bread was soft and delicious which I dipped in the olive garlic butter Brittney served. For an appetizer, I choose Italian sausage with lovely red, green and yellow peppers. I always get the Italian sausage at Mancy's Italian Restaurant so I wanted a comparison. Totally on par with Mancy's which is thought to be a top shelf spot. We split a chicken Parmesan entree that the chef equally divided on two plates. A crispy fried chicken breast gently covered in Marinara sauce paired with linguine noodles in creamy smooth Alfredo sauce. Highly impressive. Finally, we selected a slice of chocolate chip cheese cake and a chunk of tiramisu. Over 30 years of hanging out together we've been to many eateries. Many times when we go back to the same place it often is not good as the first time. Hopefully, Zia's will stay consistent. Total 5 Star Experience!

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Got carryout curbside delivery. Two entrees came in completely different portion sizes. The eggplant parm was great. One of the best I've had. Everything else was unremarkable. Fried ravioli are very bland. Completely unseasoned. Curbside delivery link did not work and there are no actually carry out parking spaces. So you either can park in a fire lane to pick up or park in a lot and hope they find you. Overall the food is hit or miss but not worth the prices.
