My room was very basic. However, the price was a fair one, for Swiss standards. For the same (or even slightly higher) price in downtown Bern, I could (and for one previous night did) have a non-ensuite private room without breakfast in a hostel where guests are required to make their own beds. And not to mention the early morning street noise.||||At the same time, if you're not a night-bird (which is pretty easy in Bern, a city with not very vibrant weekdays nightlife), you can choose Zuiegelhusi as a much better and cheaper option, while still enjoying exploring the city of Bern and its museums, vewpoints and medievel city centre.||||On one hand, access to downtown Bern is cheap, easy and fast by means of S7 commuter train. ||||On the other hand, the location is exactly on the very edge of urban parts of Bern suburbs and the idilic rustic Swiss countyside. Which means at least two things: ||||Not good, but really great sleeping in late August with wide open window in a courtyard facing room. The comfortable bed (in otherwise, as I a mentioned, basic room) contributed as well. The first morning I actually slept over the breakfast, but the friendly front desk man got the kitchen staff fix me a nice sandwich and a cup of tea anyway.||||The other thing are great hiking oportunities with a scenic pastoral hiking trail to the nearby Bantiger peak leading right through the Ziegelhusi premisies.||||All in all, it was a very pleasant staying.
