We had such an amazing dinner at Zig Zag. They were busy when we arrived but they were able to accommodate us even without having a reservation. Our waiter Josue was super friendly and the food was delicious! We had the tris of meats (lamb, beef and alpaca) and each cut was cooked perfectly and super tasty. For dessert we tried the Pie de la abuelita with a local icecream (queso helado) and the coffee and chocolate mousse, we were impressed with both. I would definitely recommend it!

We visited Zig Zag in Arequipa and had a very good experience. We ordered the dish which includes chicken, alpaca, lamb, and beef. Everything was well cooked and nicely presented on a hot stone, which kept the meat warm and at the perfect doneness. We paired the meal with a Faustino red wine that was delicious and complemented the meats very well. We also had fries, mashed potatoes, and a fresh salad, all very tasty and well-prepared. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, with traditional decor that adds a lot of charm.

I was a solo traveler. Karel, the receptionist, was nice and welcoming. Josue, my server, was very attentive. Thanks to them I felt welcomed warmly and was able to enjoy the solo dinner. The food was great and I was satisfied. I had an alpaca filet. I normally cannot finish beef steak because it's heavy for me but this alpaca filet was light and juicy.

Zig Zag in Arequipa offers a charming, rustic ambiance and a standout culinary experience, especially for those looking to explore Peruvian meats. The highlight here is the alpaca, served sizzling on volcanic stone—tender, lean, and rich with a slightly sweet, gamey flavor that’s unlike anything else. Cooked to perfection and paired with flavorful Andean sauces and sides, it’s both a cultural and gastronomic treat. The staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, often guiding guests through the unique menu with genuine enthusiasm. For an authentic taste of the Andes in an elegant yet cozy setting, Zig Zag delivers.

Zig Zag is a standout dining experience in Arequipa — a place where Andean flavors meet European finesse, and everything from the setting to the service is carefully curated to impress. Located in a beautiful colonial-era building just off the Plaza de Armas, it's a top-tier spot for food lovers looking to taste the best of southern Peru with a creative twist.

Woow!!!amazing restaurant with a very unique menu, top quality meets cooked in a hot stone with typical regional seasoning and sides. 5 stars to this elegant and so cozy restaurant in the heart of the historical downtown of Arequipa city in Peru. The decoration is beautiful, local art work on the white stone walls, candle lighting and top notch service make of this place a number one spot in the city for sure, not to mention that the food is superb. Fresh and tasty and cook to perfection!! We had the steak, chicken and Alpaca paired with great wine. English and Spanish menu and an amazing staff ready to make of your dinner experience an unforgettable one. Do not miss this place when you visit Arequipa, 100% recommended.

“Gastronomic delight” to say in short. Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner at Zig Zag. The starter bread & butter cream was delicious. The meat served on Volcanic stone was juicy and melted in the mouth. Pisco Sour was great. Portion sizes were big. Service was quick and great. The atmosphere was rustic, it was a bit hot and sweaty though. Highly recommend the place.

Zig Zag has a charming atmosphere, excellent food, and an amazing deal for duos that includes 4 meats and 2 sides per person. I highly recommend trying alpaca here!
