Top notch restaurant 👌 Relaxed atmosphere, lovely place, great staff. The food was absolutely delicious. Beautifully presented, generous portions, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend Zig Zag- book online to ensure a table. We chose starters, main, dessert & a bottle of Peruvian sauvignon blanc. We paid the equivalent of £65 in total. Great value for money.

We tried to go to this restaurant yesterday but they were fully booked (which is a good sign) So we made a reservation for the following day and we really liked this restaurant. They have a wonderful selection of both food and wine. We tried 4 meats on the stone, paired with some local red wine. I was quite impressed by the quality of meat. Atmosphere and service was excellent, I would come back! Pro tip: make sure to leave some space for deserts😉 because it’s wonderful!

We were excited to try Zig Zag after seeing so many positive reviews, but our experience didn’t meet expectations. Positives: - We didn’t have a reservation, so there was a short wait in the designated area, where we were offered a complimentary mini pisco sour — a very nice touch. - Our waitress was attentive, and the interior is warm and inviting, featuring historic stone walls and wood furniture that give it a rustic charm. Negatives: - We were seated near the kitchen, and the atmosphere was disrupted by staff laughing and talking loudly amongst themselves. - The complimentary bread came with compound paprika butter, though it didn’t taste even slightly of paprika - We ordered the Trío Especial de Carnes (lamb, beef, and alpaca, all medium rare) with mashed potatoes and vegetable gratin as sides. Unfortunately, all three meats were unevenly cooked — the alpaca was overcooked, while the lamb was undercooked. - The sides were just alright; the mashed potatoes were average, and the vegetable gratin was served cold. - The accompanying sauces were fine, though the green one was extremely mild and had almost no flavour. Overall, this was a disappointing visit, especially considering the high expectations we had for this restaurant.

Very good place close to the monestary. As a starter we had trout, highly recommended. The beef and lamp was served on a volcanic stone (you get a paper towel for cloth protection). Both was delecious. The Pico sour was also good. Overall we payed 85€.

We had such an amazing dinner at Zig Zag. They were busy when we arrived but they were able to accommodate us even without having a reservation. Our waiter Josue was super friendly and the food was delicious! We had the tris of meats (lamb, beef and alpaca) and each cut was cooked perfectly and super tasty. For dessert we tried the Pie de la abuelita with a local icecream (queso helado) and the coffee and chocolate mousse, we were impressed with both. I would definitely recommend it!

The food is incredible and such good value. We went for the four meat tasting platter which was excellent. We were also served by Frank who was really attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it’s the best meal we’ve had in Arequipa.

The food was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Any type of main meat you may order is served on a hot stone that keeps it hot & cooking it the whole time while you eat it. The meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly and the whole meal is sublime. Also the cocktails are great to try. Highly, highly recommend this and for the price you won’t regret it!

I was a solo traveler. Karel, the receptionist, was nice and welcoming. Josue, my server, was very attentive. Thanks to them I felt welcomed warmly and was able to enjoy the solo dinner. The food was great and I was satisfied. I had an alpaca filet. I normally cannot finish beef steak because it's heavy for me but this alpaca filet was light and juicy.
