"The Zilker Eagle is a 60-year-old miniature train that looks like a futuristic bullet train. It zips through Zilker Park and is a true community effort. According to the park’s website, the train's name was chosen from over 700 submissions and voted on by more than 7,000 members of the Austin community. It’s fully electric and comes with several ADA accessible coaches, making it available to all." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Came down for the weekend with my two young children for Thanksgiving to visit my my parents. We stopped by to let the kiddos play at the Zilker Park playground and we HAD to ride the train since my 4 year old boy is obsessed. Needless to say it was a great experience with the updated and refreshed tracks, locomotive, and passenger cars! I was born and raised in Austin so I got to ride the older version growing up.

Great experience on the train today! Ticket sales were easy, they sell drinks and snacks and have plenty of shaded tables to relax at. The train in brand new with plenty of seating. I loved that the Conductor is dressed up. The ride was long enough and in the shade most of the way. Actually went twice today it was so much fun!

Great experience for children BUT, very short duration w/ little exciting views as it follows along the springs pool which- there are the trees on one side and the parking lot on the other of the train’s car. SO all in all, a nice one time experience as a tourist or a resident.

Staff is great. Parking and signage is awful. There is no direction or organization. Loading and unload is a little bit unorganized but overall was a decent time with the family.

Lovely train ride with such a scenic view. Holds a good capacity - 60? Since it’s new, I’m sure they’re working out the kinks but some signage would be helpful. There were two lines, no one was sure which line was for what. One for tickets, the other for train rides, a little confusing but asking around helped. We got there as soon as it opened, long but quick line. Once we got off , the lines had went down quickly so we bought tickets & re-rode. Many people were getting tickets in the parking lot, I guess they didn’t see the pay to park signs. Overall lovely experience. Next time we will plan to do a train ride then Barton springs pool after.

Loved the train ride but the employee in the back of the car made weird animal noises during a lot of the ride. After we got off the train he made an inappropriate comment about how he was surprised my boyfriend and I didn’t “make out the whole time”.

I came here for my first time. Customer service is horrible they are not welcoming I had to ask a guy on the side where to get tickets because people in the booth just starred and didn’t say anything while I stood at the window. He told me there’s a lady on the window I told him the window was closed and the lady was just standing behind next to another guy. When I went to look again then she was there not pleasing at all either. I didn’t get her name all I know is she had some gages in her ears. She could be more friendly for sure after all it is a kid family environment. The tickets were $6, kids 2 and under ride free. It’s a cute little ride considering it’s for kids and not adults. My son enjoyed the ride. There was no wait at all so that was a good thing. Parking is horrible around there so I would suggest getting there early if possible

For those complaining, wow y’all are late to the “ways” of Austin. This train is a gem in the heart of the city. The people who run the park and pool are and have always been amazing. Please get familiar with the decades old overcrowding that Austin has become plan accordingly and have fun!! Love the rainbow carts!! Nice addition!
