Zingari Steakhouse & Pasta Bar delivers an impressive dining experience anchored by exceptional Italian cuisine and outstanding service. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the pasta - authentically prepared with sauce that achieves absolute perfection. Each bite transports you straight to Italy with its rich, well-balanced flavors that clearly demonstrate the kitchen’s expertise and attention to traditional techniques. The team at Zingari deserves special recognition. From the moment you walk in, the staff creates a welcoming atmosphere with their professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for the food they’re serving. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to make recommendations enhances the overall dining experience significantly. While the restaurant’s name suggests equal emphasis on both steak and pasta, the steak falls into “solid but unremarkable” territory. It’s certainly not bad - but it doesn’t quite reach the exceptional heights of their pasta offerings. For a steakhouse, this feels like a missed opportunity to truly excel in both specialties.

While on our date, my wife and I stopped by Zingari Steakhouse & Past Bar in San Francisco, and the experience was fantastic. The vibe was both comfortable and classy, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, so the food came out fast, adding to the chill and intimate atmosphere. With light, soothing music playing in the background, the ambiance was set for a memorable night. I ordered the flaming mignon well done, juicy, and served with an amazing, chef’s special sauce that truly impressed me. My wife had the salmon, and she couldn’t stop raving about how perfectly cooked and flavorful it was. The owner even took the time to come over, chat about the city, and offer some local tips, which made us feel really welcome. Overall, it was a 10 out of 10 experience, and we’re already planning our next visit.

I made a reservation for Christmas, but I didn't have dinner until an hour later. I came alone, but I made friends with another solo diner and we shared a table. It was also easier for them to serve us together. The place was very busy and so I missed most of the jazz from the dining room, but since I waited at the bar, I heard it there. The staff was very friendly, but very busy. The owner was very generous and took care of our drinks. He honoured us with a private tasting of his personal collections of wine and gave us a gift of olive oil. Even though I spent way more time than originally planned there, it was a great experience and I recommend sitting at the bar to wait for your reservation. It's not the easiest for a solo person - it is more well suited for small to large groups (with a reservation).

We love coming to Zingari! Family owned and upscale vibe - Fancy dinner for a special occasion or even a chill night out when the wife is in the mood for a combo of Italian food and modern variety with a date night ambience. Food is spectacular - I love it when our family goes together because then we get to try an assortment of appetizers like the truffle and honey bruschetta, bruschetta al pomodoro, and crostini fichi with figs and honey! While my family loves the tried and true dishes like the salmon and fillet mignon, my wife and I are always in the mood for a different pasta.. they have a lot of options and they change occasionally so there’s always something fun to try. But one thing we all definitely agree on is the meatballs… suuuper yum and we always order more. The service…absolutely next level. Staff is super friendly, warm, delightful, and unbelievably above and beyond. We dined there on Thanksgiving once, and I had to make Mac n cheese for a potluck the next day and totally forgot to get… the cheese 🤦🏻‍♂️And all grocery stores were closed! When I asked the server for recommendations, the owner came back with 2 cups of Parmesan cheese for me to take home - no joke!!! Unreal!! I was blown away. And while I don’t expect most folks to run into that unique scenario, something more realistic is how they’re always happy to customize the pasta even when what you’re in the mood for isn’t quite on the menu! Highly recommend!!

Google
Thank you guys for everything. The service was amazing. Everyone we met in there working was soooo friendly and amazing! And the food was the absolute best! Super delicious and amazing. We are from Nevada and were in town visiting for our anniversary, the whole staff made us feel so special. Vibe was super intimate and perfect.

I enjoyed dining at Zingari on Christmas Day evening. As a solo diner, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel completely at ease. The atmosphere was enchanting, and live music set the perfect tone for the evening. The four-dish Christmas set was exquisite, with each dish a beautiful blend of flavors. What made the experience even more special was the opportunity to connect with another solo diner, sharing delightful conversations in such a cozy ambiance. To top it off, Mr. Miglani, the Managing Director of Zingari, graciously shared a selection of his special wines with us and the fascinating stories behind the vineyards. This was my first visit to Zingari, and it certainly won’t be my last. I want to thank the team for creating such a memorable and heartwarming evening. Highly recommended!

A recent stay at the Donatello prompted us to dine in at Zinagari. We were a bit early for dinner service but the wait staff at the bar was very pleasant and sat us at a table. The jazz music was a nice touch. We ordered a glass of red wine it was excellent. We started with the polipo carpaccio. It was perfectly sliced seasoned and fresh. For main course we ordered the seafood angioletti. It was good although the creamy sauce with corn a bit unconventional. We also ordered the bread service. While tasty as far as garlic bread goes it is not a traditional bread. I agree with other reviews, surprisingly $$$$. It did help that our drinks were 1/2 price due to Happy Hour. Staff was very friendly and since it wasn’t busy everything arrived in a timely manner.

Was craving an early Italian dinner and made my way to Zingaria based on location and reviews. They seemed surprised by my arrival and passed me around before seating me in a dining room with a few other solo diners and one couple. Overall the experience, service, and food were good but not quite what one hopes for. Food wise far and away the best thing I tried was the namesake entree: fettuccini alla Zingari (prawns, garlic, white wine, lemon caper, smoked tomato, Calabrian chili). The biggest fail was the still frozen tiramisu.

Yelp
My husband and I went for date night last night at Zingari. We went for the jazz experience that they were offering last night. Food was delicious. We started with the octopus carpaccio and the beef battat (like a beef tartare. My husband had the papardelle de Nonna and it tasted like my Nonna's. The wide pasta was drenched in a tomato sauce with short ribs. I had the crab agnolotti (which is a form of ravioli) covered in a red bell pepper sauce with shrimp and fava beans. We both slurped up the fava beans while making silly Silence of the Lambs comments. We also ordered a nice bottle of barbaresco Musso. I prefer Pinot noir, my husband prefers cab. So a Nebbiolo is the perfect balance of Pinot lightness and cab complexity. The restaurant had an impressive selection of barbarescos. At most I see one on a menu at the other Italian places I go, but this restaurant had more barbarescos than barolos. That was a welcome surprise. Also it had that earthy peppery taste that I love from many Italian wines. The chocolate mouse was chocolate threes and perfectly bittersweet. My tiramisu was a bit doughy like a layer had collapsed but I still cleaned my plate. We finished with a glass of the passito (wine made from dried late harvest grapes (or should I say raisins.) We watched the rest of the Jazz show sipping away. Our server Ates was a big part of our experience. He guided us through through the menu, repeatedly checked on us without invading our space, and took some beautiful photos of us. When the Barbaresco I wanted wasn't available (and it's one I know well), he picked the Musso and it was spot on. I'm so happy I tried something else. The jazz musicians were great. It's a shame more patrons didn't opt for the jazz dinner. Tony Martinez plays at zingari frequently. He worked some Cuban and Mexican classics at into the jazz, which my husband loved. My husband asked for something romantic and they picked a classic from Mexico that he had grown up hearing. It was a 10 out of 10 date night.

Yelp
our first time and not to be tacky, it will be our routine date night spot when we're back in the city. A MUST. The lamb chops are delicious, the Gorgonzola gnocchi- heck yes!! You immediately have a friend, see Ates!! He will greet you with a warm welcome and delicious recommendations. Burrata is fresh yet complex leaving you thirsty for more. Pistachio ice cream is homemade and I want more.

Yelp
The food was good, the Toasts were my favorite! The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful, we did not pay extra and sit in the jazz room since we wanted to have a conversation but it was great to have the two options! The service was up to par and the staff were friendly folks.

Yelp
I attempted to go here twice while staying at the hotel attached to the restaurant. The first time was a nightmare of being asked to come back, still not having a place when I came back, coming back again and music being so loud you couldn't even speak to a waiter. The second time the food was decent but not worth the price paid and the service was once again horrible. The following evening even siting in the lobby of the hotel you could hear the music from upstairs and it is too loud for the space. I would only recommend eating here if you are unable to leave the hotel.

Yelp
Food was well prepared and very tasty. Service was great, not too bothersome but you never had to wait for your glass to empty, it was constantly full. A very quiet atmosphere, somewhat intimate but also very packed with tables. If you do go here, I suggest two things: 1) Make a reservation, space is somewhat limited. 2) Expect a 4 star meal at 7 star pricing. Great experience, but cost prohibitive.

Yelp
Excellent food.Thanksgiving food was excellent.Tasty,Will be back. The server well mannered great man. Thanks a lot

Yelp
Such a great service from our waiter Markesh (sp) and the food was incredible. Tried the ravioli which was the tastiest! Soooo good and will be back soon! Great that it's part of the Donatello.

Yelp
I LOVE the vibe of this place. First of all, amazing location downtown and connected to the Hotel Donatello so if you are staying there you have to try it. They play amazing music and sometimes have bands playing which makes it so much fun and great for a night out. The staff/bartenders are incredibly friendly, great service, and cater to you very attentively. The food is to die for! If you want a great italian meal this place is for you - check out these photos. You wont regret a friday night out here with some great jazz.

Yelp
Review is for the jazz bar only. Perhaps I went on an off day, but tried to order a Michelada and they didn't have it since they ran out of tomato juice. Then I tried ordering a Fernet and they didnt have that either. Ended up getting a bourbon Negroni which I enjoyed. Staff are friendly and nice. The jazz on this night was more like hotel / mall music so that threw me off. All the taxes, fees, 20% gratuity regardless of party size - we ended paying 40% on top of what we ordered which we felt was a bit much for a party of 3. Likely I will not be back since there are better drink and music venues in the city. Note: there is a $10 cover for the table area but the bar is opening seating with no cover.

Yelp
Perfect pairing for Holiday shopping was a tasty lunch at Zingari on Post today. Delicious Crostini Fichi starter followed by the Italian Spaghetti con Polpette. Topped off with gracious server, Tesh, in attendance.

Yelp
This has been one of my favorite restaurants in the city for nearly 10 years now. I booked one of the private dining rooms for my fiancé's birthday. It was beautiful. And they are always happy to give guests a tour of the wine cellars, from which you can purchase any of their delicious selections. The service and music are so amazing as well. I always love when a restaurant remembers to take my coat for me.

Yelp
this was the most DISGUSTING dinner I've ever had. For starters, they could not even get the silverware positioning to be correct (who the heck puts knives on the left of the forks?) the bread service, which was 7.50 was made of this ridiculously dry bread and flaky cheese. the 1st course's shrimp was incredibly disgusting and ugly (the presentation needs work). the shrimp smelled like it had been placed in a vinegar bath and the bottom of the shrimp was made of this sort of weird cornbread that smelled sour and tasted horrible. then, I waited for 1.5 HOURS for my second course: "clam" chowder. the "clam" chowder was actually made of shredded pieces of chicken and ham, and was extremely salty. the waiters didn't pay attention to our table and proceeded to ignore us without refilling our water (but they asked other tables). For the 3rd course, one person in our party ordered the most expensive thing on the menu--a steak--and it took forever to come. Now, the steak was the most disgusting thing ever. We specifically asked for "medium rare", and they gave us this rubbery and overdone steak. Another person in our party ordered an eggplant dish and it tasted extremely disgusting. It tasted like dog food. On the side there was some sort of weird concoction--gnocchi, I presume?-- and it was raw. I almost threw up when I ate it. It smelled horrible too. We didn't stay for the dessert because the entire thing just tasted so horrible. The waiter kept badgering us in a very impatient tone as if it was OUR fault. ALSO, the MUSIC is terrible. It's this terrible electro-funk music that VIBRATES the entire restaurant and has no musical taste. The waiter funnily asked us, "what can I do for you?" menacingly. I would like 3 hours of my life back, LOL. THIS WAS $110 PER PERSON. DO NOT COME UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW UP

Yelp
My man took me here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. They had live jazz music playing which was nice, very romantic ambience. The service was great and our waiter/servers were very attentive. Filled up my water every time and took away plates. The food was amazing. I had the Agnolotti. Every bite I had was perfect! The flavor was so tasty! It was a perfect surprise to our 1st year anniversary. I wish they would have asked if we're celebrating anything to make it even more special. Overall, I was satisfied.

Janet P.

Yelp
The food and ambiance was incredible, and the service was outstanding. It has several little areas to enjoy dinner and listen to some live music and so many private dining areas. It's a fantastic place to host client meetings or team events. All the staff were so professional, well versed on the menus and provided exceptional service. This was some of the best Italian food I've had in California and you definitely need to try the pesto gnocchi.

Yelp
Came here for a birthday weekend... how fabulous was the bar and Tyler, Staff is also wonderful and the food Yummy!!
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Had the very best and first amaretto sour in the bar here! Tyler knocked it out of the park!

Marlena H.

Yelp
This is my first yelp review! Tyler the bartender was absolutely wonderful. He recommended a great wine pairing with our variety of pastas. Everything was delicious. All three of the gnocchis were wonderful. Thank you Tyler!

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Tyler in the bar was worth the stay at this location. Highly recommend his service and professional attention in the bar.

Yelp
Two drinks cost $47. Service was great. People were friendly. Just too rich for my blood. I was not happy with a $7 gratuity fee and some other absurd fee added on the top without my permission as well. I really want to give this place one star for taking advantage of its customers but the staff was so friendly and the ambiance was so nice.

Yelp
Delicious pasta and kind staff with a fantastic ambience and music throughout the night. Rigatoni is a must!! Celebrated multiple events here and look forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
Easily one of, if not the best dining experience I had this year. We went in on Christmas day; they were serving a four-course dinner for $105 per person. Instantly felt welcomed by their staff the moment we walked in; they were AMAZING the entire night. Got seated & servers immediately came over and took our drink orders; drinks took ~10 minutes, which was completely reasonable considering that they were packed & it was Christmas day. They did a great job checking in throughout the night but not being too annoying. Now for the food; you can tell that everyone here is SO passionate about creating & serving food; all of the dishes were amazing. We got started with two kinds of bruschetta; both were amazing. The pacing of the dinner was perfect, and we didn't feel rushed once the entire night. Following our appetizers was our 2nd course; though I can't remember any of the names of the dishes, the prosciutto and burrata was amazing, and the flavor profiles of everything on the plate worked very well together. The main dishes TOOK IT AWAY. We got the lamb chops & wild boar, and WOW. Let me just say that the plate was completely cleaned off. The portion size was pretty generous; nothing like the stingy crap that some other fancy places pull. The dishes are so original, and you can tell that they really use great ingredients. Dessert did not come to disappoint, either; both the tiramisu and profiteroles were amazing. Overall, not only is the food here really one of a kind, but the service ties it all together. Our server even brought us complimentary panna cotta; we have found our new favorite Italian spot in NorCal, and will 100% be returning!! Please do yourself a favor and give Zingari a try; you will not regret it.

C S.

Yelp
Zingari is a tourist trap and comically overpriced. Classic bait and switch: 1. Prices on my bill were 30% higher than those on the menu 2. They have half order options on the menu, then charged me for full orders instead of half. 3. Automatic 20% service charge added, even for parties less than six. Food was ok but certainly not fine dining. Avoid.

Yelp
Ates was the most fantastic waiter ever!! Hands down the best customer service I've ever seen!! We will be back And will require to have the same server !!! A+++++++

Yelp
What was old is new and cherished again. Just when the City feels like it can't do anything correct anymore as a world class City we find this fabulous place ! This epitomizes the San Franciso style world class restaurant experience. Perfect service from people who understand what hospitality is all about. In addition to this the food was perfect. Every dish was spot on. On top of this the music is what brought us here and what will bring us back. On top of everything that was perfect the live jazz music was simply fantastic. This is what San Francisco used to be all about, what made it a world class destination. We cannot thank them enough for upholding what made San Framcisco a world class destination Cheers !!! Pro Tip : Valet Park at the Donatello Hotel. 2 hours free.

Steve H.

Yelp
We had a very enjoyable pre-theater dinner here- the atmosphere was relaxed and the room was lovely. We were there mostly before the jazz combo started playing, but when they arrived they were in another room so it was still pretty serene. All of our food was delicious, the minestrone was a standout for freshness and flavor. I regret that I don't remember our server's name because he stood out for service and friendliness (we enjoyed our chat about Portland). So glad we found this pleasant spot for a delicious meal. Bonus, if you mention that you're going to a cultural event after dinner you get a discount on your meal.

Tina W.

Yelp
The service was great. The food was fantastic! The ambiance was flexible. It was romantic, if needed. Business appropriate, if needed. Chillax vibe, if needed. The wine options are on point with the menu. Adding to my SF meal rotation.
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
Absolutely a must-attend! Let's start with the intimate atmosphere, which is great for the jazz club. Then, add on attentive service and fantastic menu selection, and this place is a stunner!

Evan B.

Yelp
Great service, ambiance, live jazz, incredible sole and polenta. Easy to park nearby, a must try.

Yelp
I came here by accident one day while walking around Union Square. I heard some jazz eminanting from the entrance and poked my head in out of curiosity. I ended up spending almost 2 hours there, eating dinner, and enjoying the fine wine and music. It was such a nice surprise! It's true, this place is a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the quality of food you are getting and for the tunes! I'm waiting for an opportunity to go back. It is a"special occasion," type of place, with "special occasion," type prices. The vibe inside is very nice, but as others have mentioned, it is a small space. The Friday that I was there, it really wasn't packed at all. I must have just gotten lucky.

Janet C.

Yelp
Loved this place! Delicious food! Attentive service. Fabulous music. My only complaint is it's a bit pricey. But all in all a fantastic experience.

Christine R.

Yelp
The service and food were Amazing They were able to accommodate our severe food allergies. Friendly Kind Professional

Yelp
My husband and I have been to Zingari a number of times, and it's always great. We went tonight while they were having a lovely small jazz show. We got to eat our delicious food while listening to some jazz on the piano. We had an appetizer, mains, dessert, and several cocktails. Everything was absolutely delightful. We get the Bruschetta al Pomodoro every time we visit, and it's always stupendous. They got a little backed up at the bar tonight, as they were super duper busy. But because our cocktails got backlogged, the server brought us some really lovely port wine to tide us over. The servers are thoughtful and attentive. I think we were checked on no less than 10 times in the 2 hours we were there. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Yelp brought me here - I needed to find a good lunch spot that was close to the Curran Theatre. I had a special date with my niece who loves Panna Cotta and this restaurant was only a block away and had Panna Cotta on their dessert menu. I quickly booked reservations for a party of 2 at noon. When we arrived, we were the only ones there. It must not be popular for lunch on weekends; maybe it's more of a dinner spot since they offer live jazz music? In any case, we walked up the staircase and were seated next to a window in one of their smaller rooms. The restaurant was clean and had a cozy vibe. The server noticed that my niece had Harry Potter gear on and assumed we were going to watch the Harry Potter show at the Curran. Our play was at 2pm and was told to arrive an hour early for a security check. That only gave us an hour to eat - our server assured us that we had plenty of time and if we get to the theatre a half hour before the show, that would be enough time. There were only 2 other parties that arrived after us so they weren't that busy and we finished up by 1:15pm. Worked out perfectly. We ordered the following: Garlic Bread Gnocchi al Gorgonzala Pappardelle della Nonna To start, my niece ordered cranberry juice. It was served in a tall glass with ice and a slice of lime; it looked refreshing! Garlic bread - 4 pieces of lightly toasted focaccia bread dipped in olive oil - delicious! My niece loves Gnocchi - Gnocchi was offered as an appetizer. The portion was more than enough for her. Soft & pillowy bites of Gnocchi engulfed in a creamy base gorgonzola sauce. The sauce also paired nicely with the garlic bread. Pappardelle was incredible! Fresh pasta, tender beef short rib, and a ton of mushrooms. This dish blew me away. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. Rich with flavor and portion size was just enough. We ended our meal with an order of Panna Cotta and Tiramisu. The Panna Cotta was a little wet for my taste. The only dish that I wasn't impressed with. The Tiramisu, on the other hand, was exceptionally good. Smooth, creamy, and delicate - so so good! So good that I made reservations for next week to take my family. I'm told that their Ossobuco is what they're known for. Aside from their Tiramisu, Bread Pudding is supposed to be the other popular dessert. Lastly, I want to call out their service - I didn't catch the gentleman's name but he mentioned that he's been with the restaurant for 10 years and it certainly showed. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, he was obviously observant and genuinely sociable. He was incredibly customer oriented. He made our day and we so appreciate him making our dining experience an exceptional one. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I came here for the Jazz! Every night of the week they have LIVE Music @6:30pm. We went on a Friday in July to listen to an engaging jazz singer named Joyce she was wonderful. The host was pleasant and accommodating he knew about drinks and served us with top notch service I believe his name was Fredric I'd go back just to be served by him I wish all restaurants had someone with his engagement factor. The jazz seating is boutique and intimate, is limited seating at the bar or more seating with street view. My girlfriend treated me to a wonderful dinner I recommend the Rigatoni Con Salciccia delicious!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Awesome seeing and best and our bartender Tyler was awesome! Try the amaretto sour - life changing.

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Fair warning, this place is quite cramped but if you're just here to wait for a play (like I was) this is a nice place close to the theatres. The bar is a good place to chill and close to the jazz bar so you still get the music without paying an apparent $15 surcharge. I only went to the bar so my review reflects that. The service is nice but rushed because the bartender has to make drinks for everyone at the tables. But with little expectations, I was more than happy to sit and chill. My only gripe (and this is an SF issue) is multiple fees like the SF mandate and that automatic 20% gratuity that really up the bill. But hey, that's the deal. I ordered a glass of chianti and a mocktail (up to the bartender) and got a nice pineapple sunrise-adjacent drink. No qualms.

Miranda M.

Yelp
Happened by this place recently and thought the menu sounded good so we went inside to scope it out. Staff welcomed us in and provided a tour. There were several intimate eating rooms, each beautifully decorated. We fell in love with the artwork. The staff and the ambience was so warm and inviting, we decided to stay. Because it was a Sunday early evening, we didn't get to hear live music, but the food was amazing, as was the wine, and our server went above and beyond to take care of us and provide recommendations. We will absolutely return here.. and if I ever have an event- a gathering I want to host in SF, this is where I would hold it.

Yelp
This place is still really good. We started with The Black Manhattan. Then we had the Tagliatelle al Funghetto and the Salmon entree. They were both really delicious and the perfect amount for us two ladies to share before a night of drinking. I was told the Tagliatelle was made from semolina and was gluten free though I am still skeptical. I ate it and really enjoyed the dish. There is wheat and rice semolina so I'm not so sure their dish was gluten free. I'm going with it. The server was really nice and friendly. He was attentive but not intrusive. We ended our meal with the very yummy Panna Cotta custard that was also gluten free. Great meal!

Dianne A.

Yelp
The food was delicious, prepared well. The service was great. Tyler the bartender was amazing. He went above and beyond for my family. If there wasn't a drink on the menu, he made it himself, perfectly. He even made homemade lemonade for my son. I would definitely recommend.

Carol S.

Yelp
Wonderful place to enjoy drinks and piano. Bartender Tyler makes great drinks and sets a welcoming venue for a post dinner experience .

Yelp
We didn't feel like cooking this Thanksgiving, so we let Zingari do all the heavy lifting - it was definitely worth it! We ended up having a three course meal of a number of different options. Menu's pretty diverse, with osso buco and other Italian fare. Everything is well prepared and the service is friendly too. We'll be back!

Yelp
A classy dinner and jazz destination and with exquisite food and great for long dinner and and excellent table service with a broad classic Italian menu. I loved their starters we had the octopus thinly sliced, fontina cheese, and Prosciutto for a starter. We moved to the boar , and had the rigatoni with fresh sausage and the fettuccine with prawns, and had the tiramisu and penne cotta for desert. The coffee and lemon drops were top notch.

Yelp
Selected this place for my birthday dinner and was so excited for the celebration. There was some mix up with the open table reservation and we didn't get seated with the live music. (The phone number they have only allows you email to check on your reservation) We were brought to a back room near the kitchen where it was loud and you could hear everything in the kitchen. As we were being seated a homeless man in the window was yelling at us through the window. I was not pleased with the ambiance. Luckily my fiancé was able to ask the hostess if we could move, and there was a cancellation in the room with the live music. The difference between the two areas was like night and day. We got front row seats for the live music, where the seating was very intimate and the music was lovely. We were then served our drinks. I got the sauv blanc as suggested by our waiter to pair with my pasta. He described all the notes of the wine perfectly and I easily had one of my favorite glasses of wine. The focaccia bread was good, nothing special just standard. I ordered the fettuccine Lala zingara and it was delicious, the white sauce was so light but packed with flavor. My fiancé ordered the pappardelle della nonna which was seasoned delightfully. The only con was there was only 3 small pieces of short rib. For dessert, they had everyone sing to me and brought out tiramisu. Overall, make sure you book a table for the experience room to get the live music. The other side did not even have light music so all you hear is other people talking and the kitchen.

Yelp
I came here this past weekend with my partner. The food was a 10/10! The grilled octopus was definitely my favorite part of the entire meal! It was nicely dressed and thinly sliced, I've never seen a preparation like that and it came out perfect. Unfortunately the service was pretty terrible. We got an appetizers, a salad, a pasta entree, dessert and we both got a few drinks as well. The waiter never checked on us for any of our courses. I ended up having to flag him down several times to order our next course. I even had to order with the busser at one point because our waiter was nowhere to be found. He came over with our bill when he dropped off our round of drinks so it felt like we were being rushed out when the next seating was 45ish minutes away. Lastly, when it came to the bill we gave him our card and he came back with it in the checkbook. We didn't see a slip to sign but figured it was because every check had auto-gratuity (20%). We left and got a call ten minutes later of them saying that we walked out on our bill. We gave them our card info over the phone but we're perplexed that he gave us our card back without running it. I am all for auto gratuity and have always given over 20% tip but I was disappointed with the service here. I'm hoping it was an off day and would like to come here again because the jazz and food was epic.

Yelp
We had a great experience at Zingari on a Friday night. We went early and managed to get a table for two without having a reservation, which was very lucky since the restaurant filled up within 30min. We tried two different pasta dishes (the Agnolotti and the rigatoni) and they were both delicious, even my picky Italian friend approved! The jazz trio were lovely. The singer had quite a beautiful voice and the music was perfect. Not too loud so we managed to have a nice conversation while enjoying the music. It's such a unique place in San Francisco!

Yelp
I have been a member of the Club Donatello for 40 years. This restaurant lives in the hotel. Post and Mason. So, always the first night, I get an appetizer and a glass of wine and then, crash. The appetizer was delicious. A mushroom burrata toast point. Tiny but fine. Portions smaller after Covid. The red wine was not good and in fact was brown around the edge and tasted almost off....It had been opened, sitting out in the heat and had lost all its fruit. I was in hospitality for 35 years. I know food and wine. I got my bill and the wine was $35 dollars a glass. Huh? I questioned it and said " The wine was oxidized, are you kidding!?" And the bartender replied, " Yeah, we thought that was high...!?" Ya think? The female manager was unfazed. She heard the exchange. Not my style to fight. I paid. Oh, there was also a mandatory tip of 10 dollars for bringing one tiny plate and pouring the stinky wine to me at the bar. They must be handing on be a thin knife..... Paid and decided I'd rather write my very first ugly Yelp...... review. And warn others! Ridiculous. And the woman in charge that kept calling me Madame, you need another line of work. You give SF restaurants a bad name.
