I went to this restaurant with my family to have lunch The first impressions on the venue were excellent. Everything looked nice and well taken care of. We sat inside and in our opinion, the room was too dark We ordered a round of soft drinks and cocktails and a piqueo Arequipeño as a starter Everything was delicious, the solterito was fresh and well seasoned, the fried cheese was amazing, the pork was super tender. Only the ocopa sauce was almost tasteless The main dishes were also very nice. I especially liked the ossobuco as the meat was super tender and juicy The rocoto relleno was well made. I didn't like the pure de oca that comes with the pork (it was just too sweet) The server was somewhat attentive but I wwithout interrupting every time. That is something I appreciate In my opinion the price of the soft drinks is too high and this is because I see no value on a bottled drink that can be bought in the supermarket. Instead, I appreciate a well prepared cocktail or even better, delicious food for which a cook put the ingredients together to make a memorable dish I would have liked a promo discount on cocktails like most of the local restaurants and bars have

Lovely, cosy place with a welcoming atmosphere. We started with a classic Pisco sour and we transitonned to beer with the plates. We had the idea to eat peruvian and try something new. My wife chose the "Alpaca filet in rosemary sauce" and I chose the "Alpaca filet with smoked arequipa cheese". Both meats were cooked medium red. And we were so happily surprised. The meat is tender and so tasty. As dessert we had "Copa K-Fre" which is excellent. These choices we can recommend without hesitation. This is a place worth your attention if you happen to be in Arequipa. The service is very good. The prices are above average but not overpriced. We think it is worth it.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent Pisco sour. My boyfriend had the fried cuy and loved it. Highly recommended.

Our Best Cuy in Peru Great place. We had the first and best cuy of our stay (ordered it 'chactado'). Prices are fair, service is effective (although I wouldn't say friendly) and decoration makes great use of the setting at an ancient building. Loved it!

Had a lovely meal here while in Arequipa. Both the Cuy and Alpaca steak were very good! The pisco sours and margaritas went down a treat too!

Zingaro Restaurante is where my husband finally tried the famous cuy. As a vegetarian, I had a hard time with it since it was served with teeth and all. He said the meat was good, somewhat like chicken, but there was very little of it – maybe a spoonful in total. Not sure if that's typical, but the dish had a lot of skin and bones, which made it less appealing. Quite expensive, but at least looks fancy and elegant with the candles.

No doubt about the 5 stars! We ordered the rocoto relleno to begin with and it’s the best we had during the trip. It’s different than other dried version of Rocoto Relleno we tasted in other restaurants because it was cooked to perfection to be very juicy, and with delicious melted cheese on the top. The traditional cuy chactado is a must try during your Peru trip. It does look a bit scary I might say, but you won’t regret it. The meat tastes somewhat as a mix between a crispy duck and juicy pork. It was super good. We also got the Lomo a lo zingaro, which was great as well.
