First off, I can't actually review the food here, because the service is too condescendingly rude for me to suffer through. Not to mention that the waiter this morning told a friend who tried ordering a bloody mary "No offense, but aren't you upstairs to learn? You probably shouldn't drink". Thanks for the judgmental service guys!
My friends and I show up during lunch from a while at a nursing licensing conference in Double Tree's conference room upstairs, and head over to the bar, because we didn't know how large our party would be. Immediately the waiting staff asks us to leave that area because the bar area isn't open at noon. So we move over to the next open seating area and sit down, choosing that section because its empty. After our party of 6 has sat down, they tell us to leave that area too, because its only for breakfast. Bear in mind, it's noon at this time. We begrudgingly move again to the lunch section, where others are patrons already are.
We sit down, get our menus, and see some more friends, so we wave them over. Waiting staff (who hasn't bother to get drink orders for us yet) immediately tells us to stop, because we're distracting the other patrons. Please note, we had originally tried not to sit next to other people to avoid that to begin with.
Finally, after 5 minutes the waiting staff comes over and drops off menus for us. We're already grumbling about how rudely we are being treated, when the waiting staff instructs us that "the food here is made to order, so please remember that when ordering." She then implies that our choices are somehow incorrect.
That was the last straw. We decided to leave after that. To me, it seems like management doesn't bother to communicate with the hotel's conference scheduling, so they can't schedule more staff for when they'll have extra customers than the apparent lunch rush of four patrons they're used to. Second off, the waiting staff was just rude to us, and made us feel unwelcome.
I guess we'll just be taking our business elsewhere for the remainder of our weeklong conference. Maybe we'll get judged less and bossed around less by waiting staff in the area.
Again, I normally don't leave reviews, let alone negative ones, but the service has been universally rude to my fellow nursing students and I.
