We stayed in Wagon #20, "The Elixir," and it was exactly as described on the website. The wagon had everything we needed - TV, AC/heat, shower, toilet, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and an incredibly comfortable mattress. There were extra blankets, plenty of high-end soap, shampoo, conditioner, and towels. Entry was simple with the touchpad, and the staff was always available by text. Quiet hours start at 10 PM, so noisy neighbors are kept in check. If anything isn't perfect, they go above and beyond to make it right.
We usually stay at Under Canvas, but since they were closed for the winter, we decided to try this spot - and it's now our new go-to for winter glamping!
Details (for those willing to read on):
* Dining:
We ate at Switchback and Dulivia, about 20 minutes from White Bison Resort. Both are owned by a local family (they also own Jack's Bar), and the food was amazing - seriously, five-star quality.
* Dog Situation:
Our dog was welcome in the wagon, and we took him on Pa'rus Trail - it was a beautiful walk with great scenery. Later, we drove up Kolob Terrace Road (our favorite drive). It's like traveling through four different seasons, with stunning natural views. We stopped a few times to walk the dog, enjoy the scenery, and take pictures. During dinner, we left him in the car with the windows cracked. It was dark and cool (not too hot or freezing), so it was the perfect temp for him to rest after a long day. We mention this because most dinner spots don't allow dogs inside. We saw one dog tied up outside in the cold, and it broke our hearts. White Bison doesn't let you leave dogs alone in the wagon, so this worked well for us. Honestly, we took him everywhere and had zero issues.
* Noise Levels:
White Bison Resort was awesome about handling inappropriate noise levels!! One night, the "Chief's Tent" wouldn't shut up (no better way to say it), so we texted the office. They sent the manager right over to handle it. It didn't fully stop, but the next day when we mentioned it, they offered to upgrade us to a cliffside unit. We stayed in our cozy wagon, but we really appreciated how accommodating they were.
* The Bison:
Don't expect the bison to be the highlight of your trip. They hang out near the RV parking area, and you can't get too close (signs read to stay back 6 ft). Honestly, I wouldn't come here for the bison. I'd come for the heated, unique wagons and the great vibe - during the winter season. We are die hard Under Canvas campers and only came to White Bison because Under Canvas closes during winter months. White Bison is definitely our go to for Winter season now!
* Couples with Dogs:
This place is great for couples with dogs. They have units just for families with pets and Pa'rus and Kolob are pet friendly. Just know there are a lot of families that stay at White Bison. It would've been nice if they separated the family and couple wagon sections, but it's not a dealbreaker. By 10 PM, most families quiet down and are respectful. If there's noise past that, like I said, they'll take care of it right away.
* Service:
Text the staff if you need anything - they'll bring it to you, and the office staff is super friendly. You will have to pay for extra perks but they ask if you want them to charge it to your card and deliver stuff right away.
* Addressing Other Reviews:
We had NO bugs, NO smells, and kept the door open for fresh mountain air. Everything was clean and comfortable. Honestly, customer service was through the roof perfect. We stayed from January 3-5 (three days, two nights) and have zero complaints. Such a fun, unique experience close to everything.
