Came to Cardiff for Judgment day, and was surprised to find how cheap ZIP was. I won't lie, I was expecting it to be a bit dire, but I was pleasantly surprised! Rooms are compact, but very clean. WiFi was a bit dicey, but not unusable. Also, none of the rooms have windows! I witnessed a couple of people complain about this on arrival, but it's clearly listed on the booking and the staff aren't going to knock a hole in the wall for you! Speaking of which, the staff were by far and away the best thing about this stay. When we arrived only one bed had been set up for us, and we were immediately moved to another room. Within this, I managed to forget my handbag (and purse!) and didn't realise until the next day. When I spoke with the staff (Ayesha and Bella) they absolutely pulled out all of the stops to help me. Checking cleaning trolleys and calling staff who had been on shift when they found that my bag wasn't in lost property - after a somewhat fraught half an hour or so they found that the bag had been put in the safe rather than with the normal lost property on account of my purse being in my bag. It would have been so easy for them not to care after initially checking lost property for me, but they were both absolutely brilliant and I am so so grateful!

The zip hotel is great for a few nights stay as it’s out the way but close to shops/food etc. The room we stayed in was comfortable enough with a shower/toilet/sink sectioned off but unfortunately we were placed right next to the main stairs/lifts so would constantly hear other inconsiderate guests slamming the doors most of the time. The shower made an awful noise every time we used it - 1 of the staff members heard it & asked us what the noise was but then shrugged his shoulders and carried on his day when we told him. Other than that the stay was good & reasonable for the price paid.

A friend and I stayed here to watch the rugby at the Principality stadium. This is a budget hotel and is very comfortable for the price. The room was big enough for 2 adults and the shower and beds were good enough. The toilet door, however, was a sliding door and didn't offer much privacy and the beds were very close together.

It's a you get what you pay for hotel. The rooms are quiet and functional, they have definitely been space efficient. However do not expect the same mattress you get in the regular premier inns. This is much thinner and a harder bed. I found my back was sore in the morning.

Very easy and simple to use. Nice, compact room with all you really need for a night. I found the bed really hard though, waking up often due sinking through the mattress material and resting on the solid base. They definitely dont use the same mattresses as in the normal Premier Inns.

It was like sleeping in a room in the starship Enterprise. The room has all you need without the fuss. The pod rooms looked fantastic and futuristic. The beds were comfortable as you would expect with Premier Inn, they should roll these pod hotels out to other areas as I think they are onto a winner.

This is a budget hotel. The rooms are small pod type designs but are functional. It's not the place to spend loads of time in your room but great for a short break. The hotel reception is set up as a sports bar and does drinks and snacks. It's just off one of the main routes into Cardiff and buses are regular. Great value and friendly staff.

Compact, clean, quiet, comfortable and well ventilated room which, if I'm honest, was much better than I was expecting. Shower, loo, towels, plug and USB sockets so everything needed for an overnight stay. Would be happy to spend a few days there. Recommended!

Yelp
This particular Premier Inn is a bit more further out, with a big David Lyold gym next door. We stayed in a room with a double bed and a single, which they provided. The room was immaculate with an en-suite and a TV which I was happy about. They had a coffee machine as well. The colours of the bedding match the premier inn logo, blue and white. The bed was soft and firm. We had a Continental breakfast buffet, which was lovely, I had porridge which you had to ask for and was delicious. It was nice to be next to David Loyd because while you were dining, you could see people having swim or playing tennis. Me and my friends got a chance to go to the sports hall and play catch with a ball (just a spot of exercise in the morning). If you want to pick up lunch outside and not in the hotel, then you have a retail park full of eateries like Gregg's, Mark & Spencer etc. Their is a KFC further up as well. Overall a lovely stay.

Yelp
Premier Inns are marketed as a budget hotel chain, having said that i have used there hotels at many locations in UK and found them mostly good to very good and very reasonable priced. Our stay in Cardiff was excellent, the reception at Premier inn were helpful and friendly .

Yelp
Very clean hotel with polite, helpful staff. A good starting point for visitors to cardiff with many local pubs in the immediate area, including a beefeater which serves hot food all day at good prices.
