ZiPani Cafe Bistro

Plenty of seating, fast service, yummy food and coffee! I got the bacon egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel. The bagel itself was the perfect texture-soft on the inside but tougher (but not too tough) crust on the outside.

The coffee and the honey walnut cream cheese on a cinnamon raisin were good. Also had a garlic bagel with pepper jack cheese, chicken, and a side of herb cream cheese, but it was just okay. Service was decent and the atmosphere is cute.

I love this hidden (ish) gem in Frederick. Fresh bagels, great coffee selection, bagel chips! Super friendly folks. I customize their supreme club sandwich for my tastes and it is KILLER. My GF loves their maple pecan coffee iced, but she also bought their kcups for home use.

The Bagels!!! Those got darn ridiculously good bagels make the ABSOLUTE best breakfast sandwiches. The meat, egg and cheeses are all high quality as well..but that Bagel flavor just doesn't make any sense to be this good I travel all around for work and just life, so I love trying new food spots. Its legit what I do. This food spot is 47 mins away from our area and I plan on selling people on the trip out here just to taste the truth IMO, best breakfast sandwich place in the area

This was a place right under my nose that I've really needed. Their food is excellent. Haven't tried their coffee yet. The env. Is coffee shop meets cracker barrel. I can't say much about the bagels other than, they are EXCEPTIONAL. The best I've had since leaving Massachusetts. The only thing I kind of experienced both times. The staff always looks glum. I don't think its the customer's they are upset with, more like an internal issue. It reflects on the customer's though. There's always going to be bad/tough days. Everything else is wonderful about this spot and I will keep coming here, for sure!

Love Zupini’s. We just stopped there today for sandwiches, and they were fantastic! Each sandwich was packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients that made every bite unforgettable. The friendly staff made the experience even better, ensuring great service. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tasty, satisfying meal!

The first time I went I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel but instead I was given sausage egg and cheese on a jalapeño bagel. I was going to go back inside and let them know that I received the wrong item, but then I took a bite into the sandwich. Then I realized that’s exactly what I needed, no need to go back in. The second time I went same thing happened, my order contained an error for the second item I ordered. That time I didn’t like what they gave me. Overall, if you get what you order you just might enjoy it. I gave 4 stars because of the order error. They just might be moving too fast when making the orders.

This was my first visit. I ordered shrimp salad on a croissant with lettuce and tomato slices. The shrimp salad was okay, but the croissant was stale. I also felt the sandwich was over-priced. The fountain cherry cola and ice tea were very good. I will go back.

I'm mainly rating this experience and order - I've been here before and it's usually a 4 or 5 star for me. The place inside is a little messy and run down - so I would grab and go. The service is usually really friendly- but today the young man look pissed off. Everyone has their days. I ordered a panini w Genoa salami, provolone, ham, roasted peppers onions and balsamic drizzle. The onion was so overpowering I had to take it off. The rest was okay. I wouldn't order again- but I think I prefer my sandwiches cold. The salami had a crisp to it which I don't prefer. We tasted the lemon poundcake and it was exactly what you want - fresh - MOIST - and lemony. The chicken noodle soup I ordered tasted like greasy canned soup- with mushy noodles . I will definitely come back... I've enjoyed my sandwiches before PS - they do have tables and chairs outside (Garden patio).

Food was delicious and fresh! Super easy to order and came out fast. Got the salami and bre panini, the perfect mix of salty and sweet made with high quality ingredients. So happy we stopped in on our road trip for a quick bite.

Dont know how I missed this gem all the time we lived in Frederick. Went there the other day for the first time and it did not disappoint I had the smoked salmon sandwich changed the cream cheese to vegetable cream cheese and a seasame bagel. It was delicious and no skimping on the smoked salmon. My husband had the Reuben and said it was very good. Took home bagels and flavored cream cheese.Needless to say we will be back.

Best breakfast bagel sandwich in Frederick, Maryland. Service is always good and staff is accommodating and friendly.

I haven't been to Zi Pani in sometime and am kicking myself! There is nothing not to like - I had the ham, apple and Brie panini (yum!) and an amazing chai. What a great setting to relax alone or with friends and enjoy good food. Oh, and the people working behind the counter were so nice - definitely worth a trip!

I've been to this lovely establishment a few times over the past few months and each experience is better than the last. The food is amazing and their veggie options are great. The highlight are the kind staff who hustle to take care of all their patrons. The atmosphere is high energy, clean and comfortable. This is definitely one of my favorite breakfast/brunch establishments in Frederick! Great job to the staff and cheers!

This Bistro is absolutely incredible. The menu, the atmosphere and the staff are just the best. Today I was in and Abby F waited on me. What a sheer pleasure. A smile on her face, a sincere welcome and just a pleasure to do business with. Anybody who has an issue with this place needs to take a good long inventory of themselves. The food is remarkable, I have never not enjoyed anything I have ordered there. The only issue I have is that you have to ask for the Senior Discount every time you go in, I know this is out of their control but it does become a real nuisance. It is apparent that I am not young but they are doing what they are told to do and I understand. The discount is an added bonus. You guys all do an exceptional job and I just love your Zi Puccinos. The food was ok, just wish they had gluten-free options. The people were very kind and friendly. However, the place looked rundown, meaning a bar counter with junk piled everywhere. When the sign says "Bakery" I expected breads.

I've been here 25 times. About half the time they're out of everything bagels. Welp, today was my third visit in a row they were out of nearly all bagels and everything. It's lunchtime. I won't give them another shot. Pretty clear they have serious operation issues.

I had the 8 grain bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese. I am shouting from the mountain top, I FOUND A GREAT BAGEL!! Friend had and egg and cheese on pumpernickel bagel, and she was loving it. Coffee was great! Service? Such sweet folks working the registers. I ordered a frozen coffee, told the girl to surprise me, I go a peanut butter mocha. I was nervous it would be too sweet, but it was spot on. This will be our Sunday spot from here on!

I have no negative things to say about this cafe. Looking at this place from the street, I wouldn't have expected the atmosphere to be as cozy and welcoming as it is. It was great, definitely exceeded my expectations based off curb appeal alone. Bagels are hands down their specialty, with a large variety of bagels and spreads. I have tried all bagels and they are all exquisite. My personal favorites being the cheddar and French toast respectively. I also like their bacon, egg, and cheese croissant which isn't on the menu but the staff had no problem making it for me. The coffee is delicious too, for a good price. I prefer getting my coffee here as opposed to a Starbucks or Dunkin for example. As someone who has been a regular for years, I recommend to anyone in the area who is local or visiting to give Zi Pani a try. Long story short, this slaps.

Very well run cafe with nice ambiance. Soups and bagels are great. The bagel sandwiches and paninis are delicious. Although, I have a problem with ordering the same thing now, lol. A turkey and herb sandwich, toasted, on a sesame bagel. It is the spreads that make it so good. Sun dried tomato and herbed cream cheese. My husband really likes the Reuben Panini. The selection of food gives a lot to choose from. Recommend.

One of my favorite establishments in Frederick. I have always been extremely pleased every time I have gone, and the few times there has been any issue the staff has been great at fixing. They actually know how to toast a bagel, unlike other chain businesses. Fantastic cream cheese as well that they'll load up onto the bagel, I have often been picking up tubs of this for at home since you cannot find anything close to this in the store. Wonderful place, if I could rate it higher I would!

Every town needs a bagel/latte/lunch spot like this. The bagels here really are the best (the everything bagels). And of course there's nothing like getting a hot toasted bagel with your choice of toppings. I like the store-made garden veggie cream cheese with added tomato and onion slices. For your latte there are choices for your milk, like breve, oat milk, milk, etc, plus of course flavors. They make sandwiches, there are sweets, and more. And I can't forget to mention they have whitefish salad which any good deli would. Usually at the counter there's a good deal on bags of day-old bagels. This place is a good discovery!

I went in to get a coffee and the owner was very nice with service and timely. They did have a sudden power outage and the y were flexible with what was available :)

Just had the chicken pesto panini! The chicken is tender & pesto mayo -- delicious. The crew are welcoming & the atmosphere is relaxing with music playing. Their Ruebin sandwich is yummy. The food is delicious & affordable. :) They also have a full bakery with amazing bagels. There's plenty of space here to meet & visit with people.

My biggest complaint is that the bagels and cream cheese isn't less than 25 calories other than that, if I could eat here for every meal I would! Bagels are so fresh, love the specialty cream cheese selection. Staff is so friendly and helpful. My go to is the salmon sandwich on an everything bagel and vanilla latte. 10/10 every time! I also love the option of the bakers dozen and cream cheese as to make up for the fact that I'm late to my morning meeting! Easily distracts the team and all is well in the world!

After having breakfast here with my daughter, we unknowingly sat in the bar area and a staff member came over and said that we would need to move or they would be fined and they would pass the fine on to me as the customer. All they had to do was ask for us to move. It was a strange interaction. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know why there was a need to threaten us with a fine. Never coming back.

Yes fantastic bagel joint very unique n the staff is the absolute best lunch hands down in all of Frederick every time we go it's jammed pack it's like a hidden gem!!!

Nice and quiet spot...set your GPS and find this shop . Homemade bread and bagels! Warm soups and sandwiches. Delicious deli style and great service with a smile!

We used to come here regularly after church, but customer service went downhill, costs were increasing, and the quality of food was just okay. After several months, I decided to give it a try again today, and ordered a turkey garlic and herb bagel. I didn't look at it, grabbed the bag and left. When I opened it, the turkey was slimy, and not just a little slimy, but dripping slimy. I thought it may have been wet from the lettuce, but it was not. Just awful! Zi Pani, you are failing me!

Updating my review- The owner reached out and had my bagel delivered to me at work. They even included a coupon for a half-dozen bagels. Zi Pani demonstrated wonderful customer service and displayed that they genuinely care about their customers. I am happy to support any business that shows this level of consideration for their customers. Highly recommend! I love this place usually. This morning I had a severe pregnancy craving for their everything bagel with veggie cream cheese which I grabbed to go. The bagel came all wrapped up so I wasn't able to check it prior to leaving the store. I was so bummed when I got to work and realized I was given a plain bagel instead. Since I'm at work I unfortunately can't leave to take it back. My pregnancy craving was not satisfied

I told myself a couple months ago I wasn't going to frequent this establishment anymore but I couldn't remember exactly why until I began to order. I walk in moments ago to order a bagel with lox cream cheese. A bagel with cream cheese is $4.50, with an additional $1.25 because it is lox, sure okay. That's when I remember the cream cheese was translucent on my bagel the last time I came in and they gave me a hard time about getting a little extra so I could finish my dry bagel. So I ask for a little heavy on the cream cheese. She proceeds to charge me an additional $2.24 for 2oz side of cream cheese. I had to laugh and walk out. The levels of cheap are astounding. For $3.75 I can go to the place downtown and get a bagel with a decent amount of lox spread. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $8.99 for a bagel with lox spread enough to I can actually taste it. I know times are hard but that is a complete rip off. If you want a decent bagel with being gouged head to BEANS AND BAGELS in downtown!

I got the Turkey havarti sandwich and it was delicious!!!! They have several things to choose from!! The environment was really relaxing and the staff was so friendly!! This was my first time there and I even met a state senator!!!

Everything bagel with bacon scallion horseradish cream cheese will make you question all that you thought that you knew. Normally is a superb ratio of cream cheese to bagel, but unfortunately it is not 100% guaranteed.

Just got a dozen bagels for take-out, I can only comment on that. The bagels are fine, but just ok. For Frederick, they're certainly the best option, a lot better than grocery store bagels. But no comparison to the better bagels in, say, Baltimore.

Delicious bagels with a good selection of flavors and options. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area. The service was friendly and prompt at the counter. I didn't love my oat milk latte, but oat milk varies in flavor so much from brand to brand, so it wasn't as though the coffee itself was bad. We'll be back, for sure!

I love this place. I'm here at least once a week. Their bagels are the best; their bourbon pecan coffee is one of my favorites ever and they always have it ready. Free Wi-Fi, decent prices. I spend a lot of time here. One note: Esther and Renee are two different people: though they are doppelgängers

Wow. Can't believe no one has mentioned the evening Bistro at Zipani! Coffee/Sandwich shop during the day , Bistro in the evening from 4:30-9:00.... The Bistro menu includes some great wood-fired items. GREAT tasting pizza w/FRESH dough and ingredients, Buffalo chicken, crab or Spinach artichoke dips (these are also pizza choices!). MUSSELS are on the menu too! A few choices for wings, burgers too. They have a small bar, not too fancy but they have been making some sangrias that are very tasty. Keep in mind this is NOT fast food, so plan to take your time. Bring some friends and chill a while with some good food. (They also rent a small room for meetings/classes so think about them for a lunch or dinner meeting). We go here often and they have always been very friendly. Make us feel like family.

Its not easy to find a quick lunch option in this area of Frederick. You have Subway and Roy Rogers in the shopping with Zi Pani as options really. I wish I could say it was a quality step up from those two, but it just wasn't that good. I had a simple order- a BLT sandwich with mustard, no mayo. The staff was not that friendly and seemed disinterested in actually helping out customers. The service ended up being very slow for a simple order. As for the sandwich, one of the slices of bacon was raw and inedible. It had the consistency of shoe leather- very unappetizing to say the least. If we had eaten there I would have returned it, something I would rarely do, but we were already long on the road when I got to it. Just not a pleasant experience overall.

This place has great bagels, paninis and soups by day then sells burgers and pizza at night. Expect counter fast food service but higher quality fresh foods. I used to eat at one in another city that closed 20 years ago. Im excited to have found one still open.

My favorite coffee house in Frederick Maryland ! Get the bit Bourbon Pecan Coffee and the salmon bagel (lox and cream cheese).

The bagels are ok but never again. I ordered online and when I got there they told me they had to charge me for ketchup, butter and jelly. You make breakfast sandwiches and you're charging for the condiments?! BUTTER?! Never again. Definitely would NOT recommend. If your from NY/NJ this is NOT the place to get a bagel. Better off just going to Panera.

Would not call this a New York deli!! Egg does not taste like they came out of a shell!! Staff was rude!! And they charge for ketchup!!! Who charges for ketchup!?!?!?!? Won't be going back to this place !! Guess I will have to wait to go back home for a good bagel in this area

I've only been three times, but from what I can tell they have amazing food and staff. I always get the roast beef cheddar Pani. It's to die for. They always seem to be busy no matter what time of day you go. It's a shame they are not open past 4. Sometimes I want a mouth watering sandwich after work and they are always closed. I took my daughter last week and she raved about the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich she got. This is my new favorite breakfast spot.

This spot is so great! They have great bagels, fantastic iced coffee, and amazing sandwiches. They sell bagels by the dozen and they're better than any other bagels I've gotten in Frederick so far. The staff is extremely nice, helpful and they take care of you! I would highly recommend.

Amazing vegan and vegetarian options. I had their very veggie on a toasted everything bagel (vegan - ask for no cream cheese) and a cafe latte with almond milk. The meal was amazing compared to a lot of the other places around. I'll definitely be back to try their veggie panini and their hummus wrap.

Went by twice recently in the late afternoon-early evening (I work nearby a couple days a week) and noticed it was dark and locked doors. Thought it had closed but here I see they are now only open for breakfast and lunch. Not a good sign (but maybe an improvement in the end.)

Used sit be one of my favorite places to go and grab a quick lunch. Stopped by for a late lunch like 2pm and the place was all but shut down. I ordered a sandwich that took no less than 20 minutes to make. Why you ask? They had all their machines off and ready to close. Mind you they don't close for another 2+ hours Worst service I've had at any restaurant in a long time. Looked like the manager was there too. Not even a 'sorry for the wait' and my wife and I left begrudgingly. Probably will never return.

One of my struggles to review Zi Pani is that in its area, it really is a unique place with uniquely high quality food. However, it does not really deserve that one dollar sign -- I think it's $$ for a full meal. And I also don't think that it is *that* amazing! These are paninis, people! You can buy bread and good ingredients at your local grocery store and stick them in a George Foreman grill and you will end up with something not too dissimilar. I do think that Zi Pani is a healthy option. I think it's cool that they serve beer, as a cafe (though I've never partaken). It also has nostalgia value for me -- after we go to the dentist, my family always goes to Zi Pani. But I like my food better. I don't want to pay this much. I'm a miserly scrooge, what can I say. Three stars for being unique to the local scene -- but don't try to spread your wings, Zi Pani, because quite frankly I am just not sure that you will make it very far.
