ZODIAC Baresto is a trendy bar and restaurant in South Jakarta’s Melawai area that blends modern Japanese-inspired dishes with creative cocktails and natural wines. Such a cozy restaurant-bar for a casual catch-up. Upon entering the restaurant, you’ll walk pass the bar section, where the low ceiling exudes an intimate and communal atmosphere, and a part of it is bathed by the rotating reflections from the disco ball🍸💫 The main dining area is slightly higher and brighter than the bar area, with cozy sofas and soft lighting. food is pretty creative not your usual typical menu at a restaurant. The big minus is if you don't smoke, this is a full smoking restaurant. goodbye 🫁 ordered: beef butter rice - good aromatic fried rice. curry tendon - nice beef tendon curry with udon zodichicki - just normal boneless fried chicken (similar to famichickin u can get in convenience store) chicken skin skewer - this is good! drinks are pretty on point 💣 price is honestly quite reasonable, love it. gonna need to come back to try their other food.

The atmosphere is very unique and fun! Beautiful interior. Two things that were memorable to me were their beef rice bowl (pictured) and espresso martini. They don’t have enough selection for those who are vegetarian and having veggies/salad options in general. Well, unless you count edamame as veggies.

Perfect place for hanging out with friends! The food is 10/10 and the ambience is also very good they had dj with music that fits the vibes very well. Also, the service is top notch. Had a chance to try they “Pink Bar” and it’s very cute! Perfect for private occasion. Must tryy the pink cocktail!

Food : 1. Zodiac Beef Butter Bowl 9.5/10 😋 - Very good dish. Beef was super tender, perfectly cooked to medium rare, seasoning was on point. Overall it’s taste super rich, got some crunchy texture from those crispy shallots and the cream cheese butter was very good. 2. Deep Dip Cheese Burger 9/10 - I was kinda shock actually, i think it’s just a regular burger, but no. The bun was soft, chewy, sweet. The patty was super flavorful and has a good caramelization. The onion ring was crispy and the cheese sauce was the bomb. 3. Tendon Curry Udon 9/10 - Rich curry flavor, got no weird smells from the tendons. Has a smoky flavor from the beef tongue and a crunchy texture from those crispy shallots. It is as good as you imagined how a curry udon should be. 4. Kambing Omurice 8.5/10 - Well executed dish. The meat was super tender, and the gravy was good. Rich flavor and has a tomato taste in it. 5. Ravioli Unagi 8.5/10 - Forgot to take a pict actually 🤣 but it was good, the sauce was creamy, savory, the ravioli itself not mushy, the unagi it’s not fishy at all, and got some crispy onion for the texture. 6. Pici Cacio e Pepe 8.5/10 - It’s actually a very good dish, the pasta sauce was silky smooth, creamy, and it taste super rich because the soy cured egg yolk. 7. Jumbo Prawn & Bao 8/10 - Honestly it’s a good dish, super rich spice flavor, smells really good, the bao was very soft and sweet. 8. Pesto Rice & Seafood 7.9/10 - Honestly the star was the seafood. The salmon cooked to perfection, not dry at all, very well seasoned, has a good charred in it. The squid and the clams was not overcooked, not fishy at all. Nori butter was umami bomb! 9. Cocktails - Aperol Sour was super refreshing, balanced flavors between sweet and sour, i barely taste the alcohol, so becareful when you drink this cocktail 😂 - Agave & Almond Sour has a strong alcohol taste, a little bit sweet, the sourness not overpowering and got some creamy mouthfeel. Overall it’s worth the hype. If you have your reservation you’ll be charged for 250k/pax and you can stay there as long as you want with no maximum dining time as long as your table doesn’t have any reservations after. I came there on saturday night and the service was very good, super friendly staff and good ambiance. Music wasn’t so loud so you still can speak to your friends without any noise. But idk if it’s after 9AM. ps: i’m not an expert, it’s just my personal opinion and reviews.

New Kool Kid on the block! I feel privileged to have arrived early and experienced the incredible atmosphere of this venue. As soon as I entered, I was captivated by the cool vibes, the cozy ambiance with its low ceiling, bar table, and DJ booth adorned with disco balls. The presence of comfortable couches for dining and the remarkable art exhibition further added to the overall appeal. Notably, the installation of Chito artworks, created by the Seattle-born artist who found inspiration in Mexico City and New York, showcased his unique and instantly recognizable airbrush style of self-expression. The cocktails served here are nothing short of fantastic. The perfect balance of flavors and their simplicity make them truly heavenly. The food offerings complement the atmosphere perfectly, ensuring an exceptional dining experience. Adding to the already vibrant ambiance, the music fills the room with nostalgic tunes, creating an electrifying atmosphere. One of the best aspects of this place is the excellent ventilation system, which effectively eliminates any discomfort caused by smoking, allowing guests to enjoy their time without any irritations. If you find yourself in town, this is an absolute must-visit destination.
