Zoëtry Casa del Mar (Los Cabos, Baja California Sur) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Luxury resorts still have something of a reputation for gaudy, plastic display, all the worse for ruining the authentically satisfying beach cultures on which they prey. Thus the cards come stacked against the likes of Casa Del Mar Boutique Resort & Spa; strangely, this has us cheering its Cabo resortitude on, as there’s nothing like boutique trappings to lend an air of the reinvented underdog, especially here at the midpoint between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. By borrowing glamour from the former and colonial charm from the latter, Casa del Mar reminds us that times can change for the better. In fact, when a hotel combines attractive style and expansive amenities on a scale that remains intimate, there’s precious little to complain about, to say the least." - Tablet Hotels

Zoëtry Los Cabos is undeniably gorgeous, with stunning ocean views and beautifully landscaped grounds. The property itself feels serene and visually impressive at first glance. Unfortunately, the rooms were underwhelming. They were not dirty, but they were noticeably dated and poorly maintained. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which was spacious but bland, lacking warmth, luxury, or thoughtful details you would expect at this price point. The biggest disappointment was the service. While every staff member was friendly, service was extremely hit or miss. There was zero proactive attentiveness. No one checked on us at the pool, at meals, or throughout the day unless we sought someone out. Follow-up only happened if we proactively tipped, which is frustrating at an all-inclusive resort marketed as high-end. We were also frequently told conflicting information by different staff members, which made simple things unnecessarily confusing. Pool seating was another issue. You must be up by 7 a.m. to reserve chairs, which immediately kills the idea of a relaxing vacation. Additionally, while the resort is sold as adults-only and all-inclusive, this is misleading. Condos nearby share the pool area, and there were many children present throughout our stay. It was not peaceful or relaxing at all. The food was, for the most part, inedible. Drinks were consistently watered down. Dinner reservations were easy to get, but that’s largely because many guests chose to leave the property to eat elsewhere. Overall, this is not a five-star experience by any stretch. The setting is beautiful, but the service, food, and accommodations do not come close to matching the branding or price point. We will not be returning.

Google
Super inconsistent hotel- some days we had great service and food, other days felt like bottom of the barrel. Yahir by the pool was definitely a standout, he was wonderful and we missed him when he wasn’t working. The only restaurant edible on the property is the one by the water, everything else is literally horrible. That restaurant was unfortunately closed on our last day for a wedding which we were not aware of. Although this is an all inclusive, we left the property multiple times to get food elsewhere since the restaurants were so terrible. We had to call multiple times during our stay to check in about housekeeping because they just didn’t come at all. I tried to share my experience with front desk staff and they completely dismissed me. It could’ve been rectified on the trip but they really missed the mark. Wouldn’t return :(

Exceptional in Every Way – A Truly Memorable Celebration||||We chose Zoëtry Casa del Mar Los Cabos to celebrate our sister’s 82nd birthday, and I can say without hesitation: this resort delivered an extraordinary experience from start to finish.||||What stood out immediately was the intentional preparation by the hotel. Every detail—amenities, timing, personalization—was handled with care and thoughtfulness to ensure her celebration felt meaningful and special. That level of consideration is rare, and it mattered.||||I must specifically recognize Marcos, the Entertainment Director. He went far beyond what could reasonably be expected—investing time, creativity, and genuine care into making this celebration unforgettable. His professionalism, warmth, and commitment elevated the entire stay and more than justified our financial investment. He is a true asset to the resort.||||The property itself is beautifully positioned on the bay, offering miles of walkable beach—perfect for those who enjoy movement, reflection, and nature. If you value a healthy lifestyle, daily activity, and balanced indulgence, this is an ideal location.||||Equally important: Zoëtry is a true boutique resort. Never overcrowded. Never chaotic. You can always find pool loungers, quiet spaces, and attentive service without competition or stress. The atmosphere is calm, refined, and genuinely relaxing.||||Service across the board was exceptional—gracious, consistent, and professional without being intrusive.||||In short, this was not just a vacation; it was a thoughtfully curated experience. Zoëtry Casa del Mar understands that luxury is not excess—it’s care, intention, and execution. And they delivered on all three.||||Highly recommended for milestone celebrations or anyone who values quality over quantity.

I recently stayed at the hotel with my 11 years old daughter and I have to say the highlight of our stay was the staff. Specifically Marco at the pool. He radiates good energy and spreads it around like sunshine! Soo many activities to do . I also really enjoyed Tricia the Yoga instructor! She was absolutely lovely. We felt right at home here! Views are amazing, food was delicious and we look forward to our return!

Everything about Zoetry was amazing. The staff, the food, the room. Marco and Toni at the bar were amazing. Only has two restaurants but the food and menu changed. Best food I have had at an all inclusive resort. Even the room service was amazing. I cant remember all the staff names but everyone was super friendly. We will definitely be back.

Google
Exceeded expectations. At check in we were upgraded to honeymoon suite. From that point on everything was exceptional. It was also my birthday and once staff found out it was non stop celebration. At least 5 different cakes/desserts served over the 2 days. It was a bit overwhelming and other guests were jealous. The staff makes sure you have a exceptional experience from the concierge, the wait staff and the people behind the scenes. Food and drinks were what you would expect at high level restaurant. Bartenders give a generous pour. Make sure you go to Saltwater restaurant for dinner and have Alan make you his special coffee for dessert. It a combination of Tequila, coffee liquor and ice-cream. The creation of the dish is an entertaining production. Alan also is a great waiter and an asset to the organization. Xiomara the pool manager and Julie the customer relations manager and very visible and always checking to see if they can do any thing additional. I also need to mention Jaime the events coordinator who a few times a day would have activities you could participate in including making things, cooking hints and games. In general I would highly recommend Zoetry if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy some down time.

Google
Beautiful condos every single one of them have a Jacuzzi on the balcony if you get a one or two bedroom. The food is amazing. Best omelette I ever had. Only 10 minutes to a really good grocery store to stock up. Really nice kitchen too

Google
Small, quiet hotel. Beautifuly kept grounds. Rooms are clean, we had tranquil ocean view with a balcony. Comfortable beds. Friendly service. Restaurants can benefit from some variety as they keep the same menu at all locations with two special nights: Mexican & Brazilian. But we managed to rotate through the dishes changing restaurants for different meals.

Yelp
Updating my review as this is our second stay in one year and we absolutely love Zoetry. The service is just way beyond anything I have ever experienced. A few thanks to the following people: Francisco, Sebastian and Alexis in El Arroyo restaurant were all amazing. Such fun, knowledgeable and very friendly guys. My g-friend and I would get in our PJs, throw on our robes, then head down to the lobby to just hang with our bottle of wine. We would often see this trio and they made us laugh like crazy. We also got to dive into the culture a bit more, asking them all kinds of questions. You guys all rock! Gerardo, Luis and Rigo serviced us poolside. I remember Luis and Rigo from our previous stay; Gerardo was a lovely addition. All three were on it, and never left us empty handed. Again, it was nice talking to them individually bc we like to learn about the culture and their lives. After a week's stay, they are like family. Alberto and Abraham, both our bellmen, were awesome. Abraham greeted us daily with his big smile. I mean that alone is worth its weight in gold. We put Alberto to use a little more bc he was on the afternoon/evening shift, so we saw him quite a bit when we left the property and came back. He gave us a recommendation to a restaurant that is now our GO-TO spot (El Toro Guerro). We also had plans to go into town for dinner at our 'new spot' and he suggested hitching a ride with the art walk van; so we saved $20 on uber. Thank you, Alberto and Abraham, for making our stay wonderful. Have to give a shout out to Nidia and Andrea in the spa. Nidia has some GOOD HANDS! You will want to request her for your massage. Andrea is the manager and she is very helpful making sure our spa credits are reflected in our stay. I love this resort and would recommend it to everyone. It's an easy and cheap Uber into the square at San Jose Del Cabo, and Cabo San Lucas. We have plans to return in October of 2024, and will try to move our stay from Casa Dorada to Zoetry. Cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
What a beautiful place!!!! We rented a two bedroom top floor unit and it was amazing. It is connected to a 5 star resort so we were able to use the beautiful pools. It is located between San Jose and Cabo so it was a 20-30 minute drive either way and only 10 minutes to a great surf spot. Great location beautiful grounds. An amazing time. Look them up on hotels.com you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
My partner and I just returned from a 3-day 2-night stay at Zoetry, and let me tell you that this place is beautiful. From the moment you walk in and look around, there is something so magical about Zoetry. The staff are so courteous, and attentive to your every need. Our beach front room was gorgeous, with a beautiful bathroom with double sinks, a separate shower, water closet, and a very nice tub. Our room came with a stocked fridge that included water, soft drinks, juices, and some alcohol, as well as separate wine fridge with couple of bottles, as this is an all inclusive resort. The one negative that I had, and this might just be a personal thing, is that the bed and pillows were just too soft. So much so that my sleep for both nights wasn't the best. We did not take advantage of many of the services only because of pricing. For example, a massage will run over $200+ US dollars, not including tip. Our first night we ordered room service for dinner. The shrimp cocktail was by far the best, with a nice spicy kick to it. The burger and fries were yummy too. The cobb and caesar salads were so so. El Arroyo, the restaurant by the main entrance is decent. The two mornings we had breakfast there the food was good. I would recommend the chilaquiles or the breakfast sandwich, as those were quite tasty and very filling. Stay away from the hot cakes, as they weren't all that great, pretty blah, and became hard as brick once they cooled, since we didn't eat them right away. I would highly recommend asking for some bread from the bread basket, which comes to you nice and warm, as I believe it is baked on site. We also had lunch one afternoon at the bar/restaurant by the pool, and that food was pretty good as well. I would recommend the "build you own ceviche," which comes with chips. The chicken fajita tacos were quite yummy too. All the wait staff were attentive, courteous, and so hard working. *Transportation notes: If you are flying in and are not renting a car, use UBER to get around town if you don't want to walk. Taking shuttle services and taxis will cost you a lot more than UBERing. UBER is not allowed to pick-up arriving guests from the Cabo airport but is allowed to drop off departing guests. So the day we landed we had to take a 'colectivo' (group van) from the airport to the resort, which costs $30 US dollars for two of us, with stops to other resorts to drop off other guests taking this van service as well. Taxis and shuttle services were asking us for $65-$80 US dollars for the two of us. We used UBER to get around town as the various shops/town centers were between a 20-25 minute drive from Zoetry. Also, Zoetry is a gated resort, which makes it very safe and private, so when requesting an UBER to leave the resort to sight see, shop, or dine out, you will be asked by the gentlemen at the main entrance to share the UBER driver's details and your room # so the UBER driver is allowed in to pick you up. The same will happen when you return in UBER, as a security measure and to verify you are a guest at the resort. This we did not mind at all, again, because it made us feel safe and reassured us that Zoetry makes their guests safety a priority.

Yelp
My stay at Casa Del Mar Cabo has been one of the best and most favorite stays at a hotel, and the best in Mexico! The staff is kind and always helpful; It's as if you're speaking with old friends and no request seems too outrages. The hotel itself is charming and full of Mexican character-- I felt like princess of the hacienda! You must try their buffet breakfast, with tasty coffee and some of my favorite fruits. It serves as good fuel for your day of activities in Cabo. I really enjoyed walking the property and it has easy access to the beach. I was a huge fan of the pool bar and the service! It reminded me of the service I get when I stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt or at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara (of course, the options are slimmer here because it's a smaller hotel, yet the service is 100%). I recommend you stay here and I'm already making plans to come back with more friends!

Yelp
HORRIFIC. We have traveled extensively worldwide for many years. We purchased a "Unique Timeshare Plan" from Casa Del Mar Las Residencias in San jose Mexico. The facility certainly has a beautiful location but we have experienced the most HORRIBLE situations during our numerous stays at this Resort. It would take a book to tell you of all the difficult instances but this last situation has brought my conscience to a point that I feel we really need to let others know before their VACATIONS are destroyed. The following information we have been told from employees here is that Zoetry (Recently bought out by Hyatt) is now managing the property and controls the reservations regarding what Room you are assigned. We have paid substantial dollars for this property as well as Maintenance Fees and have not been able to enjoy the property due to COVID-Construction etc... We reserved two weeks during the Christmas Holiday over a year ago. Ivan (now FIRED) had committed and promised we would get the Room we had originally purchased 6 years ago during this stay. He personally showed us on the computer that we were reserving that Suite. We also called GBS to confirm they had the confirmation and Room Number. Upon arrival we were greeted by "Patricia" who immediately informed us we were not in the system for our room and would be staying in another "Lower end unit" She told us there was no room assigned and wanted to see the paperwork. Patricia has worked here before and whether she was fired or what , has been hired back. Our experience with Patricia has been very poor. She has lied to us over and over regarding the "Bait and Switch" Accommodations once you arrive on the property. Again she gave us no choice to take the room she was assigning or leave. After paying first class flights for our Vacation we reluctantly were put in the newly assigned room on the ground floor. Shortly after settling into the ground floor room we discovered the patio doors would not lock. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over. Three hours later, when no one arrived, I texted Patricia. Finally a maintenance person arrived but after working 1.5 hours said he couldn't fix it. The unit is on the ground floor and the Doors do not lock! I asked the maintenance guy for a broomstick to place in the track as well as the ironing board. What a Night! I have attached a photo. We are elderly and not usually here during the day but on Friday coming home from an outing received a call from Patricia stating they were moving us into another room. When we arrived at the property Patricia was busy telling lies to another newcomer and we were greeted by Arno (?) and another gal that said we did not need to know her name but she and Aldo were in charge. Very very poor Customer Skills. We said we did not want to move since we had gotten the door fixed-stocked our kitchen and most importantly my husband has to take medication. The elevator did not work and in order to get to the other room he would be climbing the flights of stairs which would not be advisable. Aldo was absolutely the most disrespectful person we have dealt with here. He said "you are moving and we are moving you out NOW" We walked back to our room at which time my husband was having some pain and they had "locked" us out. I panicked and got hold of a housekeeper and said we needed to get his medication. She let us in and he was resting Suddenly we had pounding on the door and I stated that my husband was resting and had just experienced some chest pain after the recent altercation with the Staff. Aldo said "get him up he can walk up the stairs " and with the 3-4 security guys they were moving us out! I said it was very dangerous and not wise to ask a heart patient to exert him to such a physical request at this time. They immediately started picking things up one by one -placing them on a cart and hauling them upstairs! We were absolutely appalled at their conduct and ignorance of my husbands health. This was a NIGHTMARE. I was scared to death about my husband ! What kind of people do they have in charge? This was an emergency situation and they could care less. Aldo also again threatened to put us out in the hall! No Elevator. I asked for an wheelchair but then realized there was not any way to get it up the flights of stairs. Elevator did not work! ADA????? After 3 hours of chaos and turmoil I found again that the patio doors did not lock and the screen had been kicked out of the new room. Also the lock on the main door was only half there. Real Secure???? Something has to be done with this place. The lies, Bait & Switch and incompetence of Staff make it very risky and dangerous. It's gotten to a point of Disaster. D&F

Yelp
I researched all possible options before booking Casa Del Mar for our November weekend trip to Los Cabos. Hotel point redemption choices proved to be a poor value; Airbnbs didn't catch my eye; and hotel out-of-pocket rates were high. I almost cancelled our Southwest flights to SJD until I found Casa Del Mar. The online photos and reviews looked great and it was more than $50/night cheaper than other comparable options. I was sold. Boy am I happy with our selection! We rented a car at the airport and took the relatively short drive to the hotel. There's plentiful free parking right in front of reception. Walking into the hotel feels like walking into a Spanish hacienda. The building is gorgeous. Our room was on the first (second floor), with an incredible ocean view. On one evening, we enjoyed a romantic bath for two in the huge tub. We've slept in at least 15 different hotel beds through our travels this year alone and I have no doubt that the bed at Casa Del Mar was the most comfortable of them all. We slept so well both nights and the great blackout shades allowed us to sleep in. The breakfast was also top notch. On the weekends, they serve brunch in the courtyard and on other days, you order food in the restaurant. Everything was delicious. Another wonderful feature of the resort was how quiet it is. This is not where spring breakers go. This is where adults (and a few children) go to relax in peace. The pools were serene and never crowded. The beach is only steps away. Although it's not a swimming beach, it's still a beautiful place to take a walk during sunset. I was blown away by our experience. The comfortable relaxing weekend was everything we had hoped for, and more!

Yelp
Note: this property was recently refurbished and was reopened a few weeks before our arrival. The hotel name is now "Zoetry's". I would assume that many of the "operational" issues would be resolved pretty quickly. The hotel probably needed two more weeks of prep time to open in an effective manner. Hotel property: Hotel is in a nice location but it really isn't a boutique hotel per se. The hotel is actually part of a large condominium complex - two or three of the 10 or so condo towers are actually the hotel . The condo owners can use the hotel facilities and you are fighting with them basically for pool chairs, dining, bar space etc. Of course, Zoetry is all-inclusive - non Zoetry users have to pay for dining and the menus have pricing on each of them. It also appears that the regular condo owners received preferential treatment - I'm assuming since they tipped for their meals while Zoetry users aren't required to tip (or don't tip as much for services). Basically you felt like a 2nd class citizen. I've probably stayed 40 to 50 times at AMR resorts and this is the first time I felt that way. Because of the all the issues I did leave the property 4 days early and relocated to another hotel. Operational issues Bar - The bar was not complete yet. Televisions were not plugged and there was no cable yet in the bar. Basically the bar felt like a cemetery - a boombox may have solved the problem (joking!) Food - half the food was great and half was horrible. Our steaks came out raw and so did our burgers on two different occasions. It appeared the cooks were not adequately trained yet. Charging: Was constantly pestered about our room number: as noted above, non-hotel guests could use the facilities and paid for meals, drinks etc. We were constantly harassed about our room number and if we were staying at the hotel. At lunch we were asked by three to four people and then the manager came over to ask again our name and room number. Restaurant service - slow would be and understatement. We waited 60 minutes one night without even getting a piece of old dry bread. We finally left - went back and ordered room service. The mushy basically raw burgers showed up. Staffing - Bottomline, lots of staff but they were actually falling over each other. As an example - walked into the coffee bar and ordered an expresso. There was five staff members and it took about 7-10 minutes to get my drink. Only two customers were in the coffee bar - it felt like there were three managers and two workers and they had to hand everything off. Management - Not strong like we've seen at other AMR resorts. Everyone was running around and no one was managing anything. Facilities - This is an old property and they are still refurbing various areas. There were holes or large dents in various walls or equipment. This is common is older properties. You may expect this at one of their Sunscape, Dreams, or Now properties - not at a Zoetry's. Bottomline - not what I expected in a so called boutique hotel and with the Zoetry brand. I would assume this Zoetry going forward may be less pricey than other hotels in the Cabo area.

Yelp
The staff is not educated to customer performance that is promised on the website. I was supposed to have a junior suite, all inclusive for $5,400/week+. I had a regular hotel room! Totally not worth the price. They advertise fresh fruit daily, I haven't seen it yet. They advertise room cleaning 3x/day. I had to complain to get mine done once a day. The staff labels you as a complainer. The mini bar was not stocked daily unless I asked. If you want to just spend a lot of money on a miserable vacation, this is your place. They advertise alcohol available 24 hours a day. Not true, after the bar closes at 11:00 pm, you have to order drinks from room service, which doesn't bring any drinks. Total waste of money. I had to file a complaint with Hyatt corporate office.

Aditi P.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here in Feb 2021. The rooms are comfortable, views are amazing, very courteous staff and we got to see so many whales from the resort itself. The best part about the resort is really the staff, they have a genuine interest in making you feel welcomed and cared for...Francisco, Zac, Arroyo, Tania, Anna and Sergio deserve a special mention. Very friendly service by everybody, they made us feel special and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the resort. The only thing I wished was different is the resort's restaurant menu, they have a limited menu that doesn't change. If you're staying here for more than a few days you can get bored easily of eating the same things. I'd love to go back to this place anytime!

Dans W.

Yelp
We have stayed here twice before and it was superb. However this time, it is under renovation and they didn't manage to call and tell us. Chileno bay will actually call you and tell you if they go under renovation. Aside, from this, we decided to stay since we were traveling with a child. The bar was closed among other amenities. They were short staffed and waited forever to get our food. What topped it off was that they gave priority to the people that were receiving this presentation to buy time share at the property. HORRIBLE! I will not be coming back!

Paola L.

Yelp
Nice place but if your going for a timeshare tour DO NOT DEAL WITH Francisco Javier. He has the worst customer service one can have. As a MEXiCAN I would never recommend this Mexican Owened resort for the worst experience one can encounter on our vacation. Absolutely no one has to experience this on their vacation.

Yelp
Stayed in a condo and enjoyed the sometimes eerily quiet. The grounds are beautiful...really well manicured by the constant gardening staff. Pool by the condo isn't heated but the one up at the main hotel is. No gift shop. Didn't try the restaurant but I cannot day enough amazing things about the spa. I had an aromatherapy massage one day and a facial the next. Both were incredibly relaxing but the massage was the best I've ever had. I'll be talking about it for a long long time!!

Yelp
I went to Casa del Mar for a wedding. I stayed in the hotel side but they also have condos. I stayed 3 nights. Service from the staff was 5 stars. They were very friendly and attentive. The main reason I gave it 4 was because of the lack of privacy in the bathrooms. Yes they had a big bathtub but the bathroom and shower had small frosted doors. I might be great for couples but not for family. It was very quiet around the resort and pools were relaxing. The view was amazing and I would sit in the balcony or the bed too enjoy. The breakfast had fresh waters, fruit, Mexican breads, made to order omelettes, chilaquiles, beans, coffee, pancakes, and other items. The wedding was at the resort and it was very beautiful also. We did ask for transportation from the front lobby to the airport and cabos and they were able to arrange that. The ocean was just steps away for my morning walk. They provided water and towels 2 times a day. I would recommend this resort.
