"This beautifully restored archeological site was used primarily as a ceremonial center to initiate and train Aztec warriors. It's a popular tourist attraction that certainly lives up to its hype, especially for anthropology, archeology, and history enthusiasts. You can buy tickets at the entrance when you arrive and though you don't need a guide, one might be helpful in bringing the place alive." - Susannah Rigg

Pro tip: bring comfortable footwear and a water source, you'll be climbing 400+ feet of steps (totally worth it at the top). There's a small snack shop just in case you forgot your water.

Great place, but it needs to be done early in the morning. Later it is too hot and there are many tourists 😁

Easy 20 minutes walk up to the reasonably well preserved archeological site at a moderate steady pace. Well laid out stone steps throughout. Great views of the town below and the mountains around from the top. Information placards laid out throughout the route and at the top describe the history of the place very well. Entry costs 65 peso per adult, children go free and students get a discount. Open from 9 am.

If you've a mexican government-issued ID you can come in for free on a Sunday. You'll need one each. The rest of the time it has a low fee. Pets not allowed. No parking At The Spot, but several sites are available close by. Stairs are easier than regular archeological sites, but they are still not for the faint of heart (around 400). Don't forget to tip the guides, please.

Out of the ordinary, nice temple carved in the stone, getting up there is really not that hard unless you are really out of shape. Awesome place for taking pictures and story of this place is really great

It's one of so many magic towns (pueblo magic) in the beautiful and historical México which is rich in culture. If you want to know some history from the mexicas, you will get to know it and see it in this town. It's a little far from the city but you're going to love it.
