Zoom Hotel (Brussels, Belgium) 10 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Now that Brussels is a metonym for the European bureaucracy, the Belgian capital is in danger of having its fashionable side overlooked. Then again, maybe that’s not such a bad thing, if it means a place like the Zoom Hotel can fly a little bit under the radar. This, in its tidy, buttoned-up sort of way, is among the most stylish hotels we’ve seen lately, a minimalist industrial-chic boutique whose rooms are decorated with cinema lights, smart monochrome tiled bathrooms, and a crowdsourced photography project that fills the hotel with an ever-changing series of artistic views of the Brussels streetscape." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel is far away from the historic centre of Brussels. It is a good option due to its price, but bare in mind that you will always have to use public transport to visit the city. |Also, the rooms are very dark and had a lot of dust. If you have mite allergy is not a good idea.|Breakfast was nice and all the personnel were very helpful and polite!

Perfect location in Brussels for restaurants and shopping. Comfortable hotel and very good breakfast. Friendly service and excellent wine! There is a parking just in front of the hotel but of course you have to pay for it. Walk 100 meters and you will find many shops.

As a constant traveler to Brussels, I had to review this great experience... I definitely found my base in Brussels with Zoom Hotel. Fantastic Location: Center Quartier Louise, near European quarter, and a stone trough from Grand Place. Great accessibility, Trams, Metro, and Safe parking in front of the hotel. Clean, quiet and cozy hotel, who privilege a real Human hospitality service! Night manager on duty, and 24/7 service... Fantastic breakfast as well, try the Belgian waffles. Accessible and ideally located, great value for money, I must highly recommend it ! JP U.K.

Being a constant traveller, and also actor in Hospitality Business, I currently stay in hotels all over Europe...|It would have been unfair for me not to mention my feed-back about Zoom hotel Brussels... |Zoom hotel is exactly what you expect from a modern hospitality, like: |1) Great Location (city center, Cartier Louise and European quarter, and a stone troughs the beauty of the Grand Place.|2) Quiet position offering a Save and efficient Parkings, and connections with Metro & trams to anywhere in Brussels.|3) Clean and secure completed product!||And the cherry on the cake, a human quality service!|What a warm welcome by any team members, Night manager on site, duty service 24/7, and a fantastic breakfast! (try the famous Belgian waffles ;-)|All that for a great value for money!||Well done, Zoom, highly recommended ! ||JPR U.K.|

Fabulous hotel I spent here three nights when visiting Brussels. There is a fabulous kitchen, good selection of craft beers, and the receptionist girl was helpful to me, she spoke good English. They have bicycle storage in the establishment so I didn't have to keep my bike outside. Overall, I have very satisfied with the hotel.

Zoom Hotel is in an extremely central location, there are many shopping and restaurant opportunities within walking distance. You can reach the city center after a 20-minute walk. Talking about the rooms, they are spacious and clean. As for the shortcomings, there are no slippers and ear cleaning sticks. It is also quite annoying that the floors squeak very loudly every time we step on them. If these deficiencies are corrected, it will be an excellent accommodation point that deserves full points. Overall, I think I got what I paid for, despite the minor shortcomings.

tl;dr - The manager called my partner's disability 'his problem' I am disappointed to say that I cannot recommend this place to anyone. |----------||This is feedback I am planning to share with the hotel owner but I’m also leaving it as a review because I think transparency is important.||I would like to inform you of the experience my partner and I had at your hotel. To be clear, we do not want a refund or discount; just for you to read and understand the treatment we received from the manager. ||My partner and I booked a Double XL room through your website and requested a shower chair because he is an amputee. He wears a prosthetic leg and uses crutches to shower. A request we made at 4 other hotel, with no issues. Hotels that did not have one, simply said so, which is a perfectly acceptable response.||When we arrived at Zoom hotel, we were asked to pay up front without seeing the room first. Upon seeing the room, we realized that a decision was made to change our entire reservation to a different room. We were not informed of the change at check.||Not only was the room downgraded without adjusting the price but it was smelly, loud and hot. In addition, the shower was still unusable by my partner. ||We asked to be moved to the room we reserved. We were told that would not be possible until the next day. We had no choice but to spend the night in the smelly room. The staff told us that the room smells because it’s rarely used, handed us a can of air freshener and advised us to run the water.||The next day, we were moved to the proper room that we had reserved. As we did not get what we paid for the first night we asked to speak with the manager. After a few failed attempts, we finally were able to connect on the 3rd day.||The manager began the conversation already defensive that we did not appreciate her decision to change the reservation. She refused to make a price adjustment because we ‘entered the room’ and therefore ‘were responsible for payment’. Worst of all, she insulted my partner by calling his disability 'his problem' and that we should not have made a request for a shower chair if we did not want the hotel to make assumptions and take liberties with the accommodations we need.||I am not familiar with the laws that protect people with disabilities against discrimination in Belgium. But what I do know is that the lack of professionalism the manager demonstrated is appalling. Her lack of compassion and respect for disabled people is something that I hope no one else experiences at your hotel. And that is the reason I wanted to inform you of this experience.

My partner left an accurate review of our stay at Zoom hotel. I am the disabled person. I am responding to the owners' completely dishonest response.||I am an above-knee amputee and wear a prosthetic to be mobile. I do need to remove it to sleep and shower. When not wearing it, I use crutches. Throughout our trip, a shower chair was requested. When not available, hotels simply said they did not have one available. “No” is a perfectly acceptable response; much more acceptable than changing everything expected. ||The owners’ response to the original review is not at all truthful. ||The "receptionist" mentioned is the person we were told was the manager with whom it took 2 days to meet in person. The hotel staff was amazing and as communicative as they could be. We have no complaints about them. ||We made our first complaint about the room 10 minutes after dropping our luggage in it as it was a different room that we reserved. It was directly off of the cafe/bar/terrace area. The widow that provided ventilation to the room opened directly to a smoking table. ||Yes, we put our luggage on the bed. But we were told this was all that was available. We were given a complimentary drink and told the room would be changed the next day. 45 minutes in we could not stomach the smell. We were given an air freshener and told to run the water because that room is not used often. Again, we were told there was nothing that could be moved as the hotel was booked and what we paid for was already occupied. After a long travel day, trying to find a last-minute hotel left us with very few options.||We did not ask for a downgrade. I only asked for a shower chair. When we did not get what was paid for, yes we sought recompense. Not a refund; we simply did not want to pay for something less. ||Also at time of booking, there was no mention of the hotel only having 5 rooms with air conditioning. Had that information been disclosed by the hotel, we would have chosen a different place. ||In addition, the room is not handicap accessible as there are no supports of any kind and the bathroom is all tile. There is no separation between the shower and the rest of the space, not to mention any proper ventilation. The “shower chair” mentioned in the owners' response was a stool borrowed from the cafe just outside the room. There was an abundance of them. They were also used as side tables in the rooms. Nobody went out of their way to find one as implied by the owners’ comments. And as a side note, the stools actually fit just fine in the bathtub of the room we were eventually moved to. So, had the hotel not made assumptions about my disability and taken it upon themselves to change our reservation without consent, this all could have been avoided.||Lastly, I want to clarify that I did not call the manager “stupid”. I said she was ridiculous when she called my disability my problem, blamed the room downgrade on my request for an accommodation and expected me to show gratitude for her grossly inaccurate, stereotyping and quite frankly insulting assumptions about disabled people. ‘Ridiculous’ describes the insensitive and obtuse person that demonstrated an inability to see me, a disabled person, as a human.||I travel frequently and have been disabled with a “problem” for over 30 years. I have never been treated as horribly as I was by this manager.|

Yelp
Very modern and well decorated hotel. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel as their breads and pastries were very fresh, the juices freshly squeezed, and great espresso machine. Citrus and mint infused water by the front desk and beers for purchase in the kitchen. Spacious room and safe neighborhood, about 20-25 min walk from the city center. Yes, it's dark in the rooms but there are bedside lamps if you want to read. Watch out for the differently sized stairs and ask for a ground floor room if you have mobility issues. Only draw back was that our shower leaked and bathroom amenities are quite spartan. The bedroom was also uncomfortably hot and despite adjusting the radiator in the room, we weren't able to cool it down.

Yelp
Perfectly located in Ixelles just a ten-15 minute walk to the stylish shops along Avenue Louise, the funky cafes and bars on Chausée Ixelles and the extremely hip Chatelain neighborhood, you really couldn't be better situated. The hotel's photo theme is pretty cool, there are vintage photo mags scattered everywhere, lamps in the shape of projector lights and even metal scaffolding structures in the bedrooms to mirror the feel of a shoot. While I'm all into a clever decorataive theme, what I really like about the hotel is the super comfy beds and bedding, spacious bathrooms, really lovely cafe/bar in the entrance with loads of seating, strong wifi and great selection of drinks and even some free nibbles that you can help yourself to. What the hotel could improve is the air circulation in the rooms, it gets pretty stuffy and the windows don't open wide and there is no central air system. Aside from that, it's a great, stylish, central pied-a-terre!
