"Cycling Niagara-on-the-Lake With its very flat roads and generous bike paths right by the lake, Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) is a great way to get a workout while touring the wineries. Zoom Leisure has a great reputation for leading a great bike tour. That said, if you want to rent a bike and ride your own route, the staff will give you a map and you’ll be on your way! On the tour, we visited Jackson Triggs (our favourite winery on this tour), Reif Estates and Riverview. Peller Estates is normally on the route but since we were going there that evening, our tour guide customized our route to our experience and surprised us with ice wine slushies at the Ice House. It was a bit of a longer distance but well, worth it! Lunch is included at Walkers Country Market. Make sure to get some freshly picked cherries and take a peek in the Wayside Chapel, the smallest chapel in Ontario! If you want to buy a few bottles, a van tours the route with you and can drop off the bottles back to Zoom or to your hotel/B&B. If this is your first time to NOTL, taking the tour will help you navigate the region and make the most out of your visit."

If you’re visiting Niagara and don’t make a stop at Niagara-on-the-Lake—and don’t rent a bike from Zoom Leisure Bikes—your trip is truly incomplete! The customer service here is top-notch, and the team is incredibly friendly and helpful. A tip: If you need a smaller size bike, be sure to book in advance, as those tend to be limited. They offer both regular and e-bikes, but coming from California, we found the terrain here nice and flat—perfect for a leisurely ride on a standard bike. Highly recommend for a fun and scenic way to explore the area!

Ben fixed my bike in 5-10 mins after I spent an hour trying to fix it. Wizard at what he does and so helpful. Got me back on the road with my kids right away even on a busy weekend. Highly recommended.

Google
awesome experience. from easy booking to simple collection and return. 5 stars. staff pleasant. made everything as easy as could be. We rented three ebikes for 3 hours. Did a circular route with a stop off for pizza and wine then on to a cider house and back to base.

I've been to NOTL many times, but this is the first time I rented a bike to ride along the Niagara River Recreation Trail. I found that Zoom was just down from Queen St. so I decided to rent a bike from them. For $30 they hooked me up with a great bike and a helmet for 3 hours. I took off for the trail and had a great time. I even stopped for lunch along the trail. Driving along the Niagara River Trail is fun, but it's even better on a bike. The people at Zoom were helpful and friendly. I even asked them to take my picture when I returned the bike. Definitely 5 stars, and I'll be renting again.

Google
Fantastic service and a great experience from start to finish! My girlfriends and I rented four e-bikes from Zoom Leisure Bikes for a ride from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Niagara Falls and back, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—they even assisted us with attaching a saddle bag to a bike that wasn’t rented from them! Their service was truly above and beyond. We also appreciated the flexibility of their after-hours drop-off, which gave us peace of mind in case we were running behind. Highly recommend Zoom, and we’re already looking forward to renting from them again!

Great experience! The woman helping us get the right size bikes was amazingly helpful and thorough. Great rides, comfy, and organized.

Kelly was incredibly helpful! She stayed after hours so we could pick up our bikes since our flight was delayed. We biked 20 miles down the Niagara Falls Parkway without any issues and had a fun and comfortable ride. 10/10 recommend!!

Google
Zoom Leisure Bikes has saved my butt twice now!! I’m a local cyclist and I can’t say enough good things about the service here. While I haven’t rented a bike, I’ve walked my bike here for help, and both times, the team went above and beyond. Most recently, my partner and I were 40 km from home when he got his second flat of the ride. Low on supplies and knowing this shop was nearby, I rode over, and got myself a flat on the ride in. Ben, who works here, is an absolute gem of a human. I was able to buy inner tubes and more CO2, and he changed my flat on the spot. In total, Ben helped us with 2 of our 4 flats on that particular ride. This space is important not just for tourists, but for locals too. With no other bike shops close by, I’m incredibly grateful this place exists — and for Ben’s kindness and support! THANKS AGAIN BEN!!

Yelp
Quick, easy bike rentals for our day at Niagara on the lake! I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Simple, easy processing steps online and in the store. Happy and satisfied how well maintained and clean the bicycle is when we picked it up and rode in it about 30km. The building is also designed with parking convenience. Even the website was well developed when bookings were made, reasonable pricing and friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
We rented a bike, from Zoom for a self-guided tour of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We only needed one bike as two of us (including me) brought our own. From the start, their custom service was outhandling. We rented the one bike for three hours (the half day rental) and we were a bit concerned that we might not be back within the three hour period because we wanted to ride as far as the falls. They said not to worry about being late with the return if needed, they are lenient. We also asked them if we could borrow a hex key to raise the handlebars on my bike. A short time later, not only did someone came out to the parking lot with a hex torque wrench, but he also made the adjustments to my handlebars. However, he found that after raising the handlebars, the brake cables would no longer reach, so we took the bike into the shop and two people started working on setting up my front brakes. After they finished, they said that the work would be no charge because we rented a bike from them, but I asked them how much this adjustment would have cost. They said about five dollars, which I thought was very reasonable. So, on my insistence, I paid the five dollars anyway because they deserved it for demonstrating good customer service, in going out of their way, and for the time they spent to adjust my bike. In addition to their excellent customer service, the bike that we rented was in excellent shape and very well maintained. The bike was a Trek hybrid bike and cost $20.00 for the three hours (we returned it on time, so we didn't test their leniency after all).

Yelp
Anyone could go to Niagara-on-the-Lake, find Zoom Leisure, and rent themselves a bike. The reason however, for reviewing them, is to incent someone to do just that. Biking from winery to winery is not just fun but likely far safer than driving (at least by the time you're on your 5th winery of the day). Without reservations, I walked into Zoom Leisure and rented a bike for the entire day. The process was simple, the price reasonable but not cheap (about $30 Canadian; about $24 US). A helmet was included (if desired), a lock, and a map of the wine region was offered. Still recovering from a broken wrist (will it never end?) I asked for a bike with foot brakes and was impressed that they had one. I also inquired what would happen were the bike returned after closing time; They have you covered for that as well. Zoom Leisure knows their business and their customers. The bikes are in excellent shape and since I returned mine while they were still open I somehow wound up learning that all of their bikes are offered for sale as well. What a great opportunity to purchase a well-maintained bike after having spent the day deciding whether it's for you. Biking around to the wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake is a fun experience made even more fun thanks to many dedicated bike paths. Now you know about it and know how to make it happen leaving only one final step: go do it.

Yelp
The entire experience was amazing. I booked the self guided wine tour for my husband and myself and the full day bike rentals for our daughters. Great friendly service when we checked in to get our bikes. We thoroughly enjoyed the different vineyards on the trail and the beautiful landscape. The trail they mapped out was wonderful. We saw horses and a rooster along the way. The bike path and country roads were both easy flat terrain. We visited Jackson Triggs Estate winery, beautiful vineyard with nice wines; Niagara Oast House Brewery, they had a ping pong table that kept our daughter's entertained while we sampled a few beers; Marynissen Estate Winery, also had a nice selection of wines to sample; Inniskillin Estate Winery had a beautiful outdoor patio with picnic tables and food you could order while you enjoyed your wine. Reid Estate Winery, was too crowded when we got there so after waiting 20 min we left without sampling their wines; And the last stop was Walker's Fruit Market, where we enjoyed ice cream. The loop took us a total of 4 hours because we took our time riding near the river bad enjoying the town. 100% would do it again if we return. At the end we drove back to the vineyards and bought the wines we enjoyed. Highlight of our trip

Yelp
Tips: REMEMBER..........you have to make reservation online or you will have no bike or had to wait for the bikes to get returned.... Friendly owner/manager.... They will tell you how to get to the wineries. If you are returning the bikes to the store after they are closed, they have a easy return. You can just returned it at the bike rack from the back.

Yelp
My husband and I walked in a little before 10 am on a Saturday without reservations, but there didn't seem to be a shortage of bikes. The rental fee includes a helmet, bike lock, and area map. The bikes are also equipped with bells, water bottle cages, and a front pouch that's kind of like an insulated lunch bag. Neither my husband nor I are seasoned cyclists, so we would have liked a little more guidance from the staff. A staff member did help adjust my seat when I was confused, and gave some directions when my husband told him where we wanted to go, but I would have liked it if he had been more proactive in assisting us. If you're nervous about biking in traffic like we were, this location is close to Mary Street, which has a bike lane, and will take you in the direction of the bike trail along Niagara Parkway. We walked our bikes to Mary Street, hopped on them next to the bike lane, and soon got our bearings. I recommend paying for the full-day rate, since it's only $10 more than the half-day, and that way you don't have to keep an eye on time.

Yelp
We rented bikes from the 3850 Niagara Way location, near the Niagara Whirpool Aerocar. The young man attending the little kiosk was nice and helpful. We rented a men's hybrid and ladies mountain bike. Definitely a fun way to see the Falls! We even rode the bike across the border to NY! You must go on the rode, and stay in the auto lane/line. I think paying the $60 for 2 all day bikes was a little pricey, but it was fun.

Yelp
Renting bikes couldn't be easier. Alex and his team were quick to respond to emails and super friendly with their advice. The bikes were great and delivery was on time to our desired location. They included a bike bag, lock and helmet if you needed it which were all handy when stopping off at the wineries. Service was great and the bikes were an easy ride. If you plan on biking on the wine tour, why go through the trouble of bringing your bikes. Just rent them and you do not have the hassle of taking it with you around Niagara. Make sure you book online or else you risk not having a bike available to rent.

Yelp
We did the self guided tour today on e-bikes. Amazing beautiful planned route. Bikes were great! Makes me want my own! Staff are just awesome in every way. Thanks so much, Zoom!

Yelp
What can I say about Zoom that hasn't been said already... Oh wait, I'm the first reviewer! haha. Zoom is a great little bike rental shop with an adjoining antique shop (for those antique collectors, kill two birds with one stone)! It has a very small town, family feel to it. Staff were extremely friendly (even after we lost one of the bike locks, and had to take their spare to retrieve a bike) and genuinely seemed interested to help us along in our bike tour. We planned for a full day of riding ($30 full day, $20 half a day) around the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, checking out some of the wineries.. Think Sideways but on bikes. They had a pretty wide selection of bikes, and though I'm no bike expert, they seemed in pretty decent condition. Helmets were available on site, though I recommend you bring a bandanna or some head cover if you're going to borrow a helmet. After 8 hours of biking around, and six too many glasses of wine, I was ready to return my bike!

Yelp
My husband and I rented 2 cruiser bikes from this location and we could not be happier with the service, cost and experience. We reserved the bikes online ahead of time and simply went and picked them up. We made our own winery tour using the Discovery Pass you can purchase to visit 8 wineries and do a wine/food pairing. Each bike came with a very easy to use map, lock and a little brochure about the region. Both of our bikes were brand new and so comfortable. We will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends.

Yelp
if you're too lazy to haul your bike down the QEW to Niagara, Zoom Leisure is a good option for getting around the Niagara on the Lake area. The price is pretty reasonable and they offer a selection of bikes; but they try and fit you to what you are looking to do. For us they asked us, whether we want comfort or sporty level bikes. The price includes a basket thingie to store your water, but also a map, so you don't get lost, as well as bike lock; and a helmut, in case you forgot yours. Plus they make it pretty easy to return your rental bikes. The pricing is super reasonable, compared to what you get, when you attempt to rent a bike on let's say Centre Island.. Plus they've got a pick up and drop off service (for an extra fee), in addition to multi-day rentals. I went with my girlfriends and they told her; she could leave her car in the back, but there is extremely limited parking behind Zoom, so you might be have to find parking elsewhere. Staff is willing to help you plan out your route and the easiest way to get there, since you would be sharing your bike with cars, if you decide not to go along the Niagara Parkway.

Yelp
Very friendly and fairly priced. We had bikes and were on our way (with map and directions) in 10 minutes. Bikes were great, beautiful area to ride along the river.

Yelp
My friend and I rented bikes for the day to tour Niagara on the Lake from Zoom Leisure. We made a reservation on their website a week prior for our bikes. We opted for a self guided tour versus the many options they had available for their customers. It is a cute little store that had many, many bikes available for rental. A full day is $30 till dusk. We were given a helmet and a lock. Our bikes were adjusted to our height by the Zoom Leisure folks and we were set to go. The bikes were great, no mechanic issues. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking bike around the Niagara area.

Yelp
Had a great experience with Zoom last weekend! The bikes were in good shape and I loved that they came with bags attached so we could stash our picnic and other belongings in there. We did the self-guided wine tour, so we were provided with a route and vouchers for wine tastings at 5-6 wineries as well as a brewery. There were also some fun vouchers for juice and ice cream along the way. I loved that we could do this independently and choose to do it in whatever order we wanted. My one complaint is that it gets pretty busy at Zoom - we arrived at 10:30ish and didn't get out on the bike until after 11 because there were so many people there. It might be better to get there right when they open! I wrote a full recap of our experience on my blog: http://chelseashealthykitchen.com/2014/06/02/niagara-lake-wine-tour

Yelp
Last weekend, several friends and I toured around the NotL wineries on bikes rented from Zoom Leisure for someones birthday. The service we received at Zoom was top notch. The staff are almost all cyclist and so know their stuff. The bikes are in great shape and we all got to ride the style of bike we wanted, from super comfy cruises to hybrids. We opted to do our own thing but they do offer guided tours around the wineries. We had a great time and I highly recommend a) renting bikes and touring this amazing place and b) renting your bikes from Zoom! P.S. Several of the winery folks also commented that Zoom is the best in town for bke rentals. I'm hoping this trip becomes an annual thing. We had such a blast!

Yelp
Renting a bike? This is your place. Almost every hotel and B&B directs you here. It's a small, well established bike shop with nice staff, good service and easy rentals. They have accessories for kids too, like chariots. I've rented from them before and never had any issues with the bikes or equipment. On the weekends, it can get a bit hectic, so come early and make reservations.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
We stopped in at Zoom Leisure to rent bikes for a morning's ride along the riverfront in Niagara on the Lake. Easy to deal with and the equipment was in good shape. Couldn't ask for more. But go early as they get busy around mid-day.

Yelp
We were headed down to Niagara on the Lake for the weekend and wanted to do one of the much talked about winery bike tours. We looked at reviews of a couple places in town, but based on comments and reviews we had read, ended up going with Zoom, and we definitely weren't disappointed. We ended up choosing the Winery & Brewery Tour that consisted of a nice ride that stopped at Rancourt Winery, Caroline Cellars, Reif Estate Winery, Inniskillin and Oast Brewery with samples at all stops and a cheese plate at one of the wineries. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to help with anything you could imagine. While you are on the tour if you purchase anything, someone else drive around and picks everything up for you so that you don't have to carry it. They have a huge fleet of bikes of different kinds all seeming to be brand new. Our guide for the day was Fish and he was very knowledgeable of the entire area. We were there on a work day, so it wasn't busy on the day that we went and only 4 people had signed up, 2 of which were late so we ended up going out just the guide and my wife and I. It couldn't have worked out better for us. I've already recommended them to all my friends and plan on going back at least once a year to do a tour.

Yelp
With locations in Niagara Falls and NOTL, Zoom is the easiest place to get a bike for the day. When you have driven out to Niagara in a small car, bring your own helmet, rent yourself a bike and watch out for the cars. Although there is generally a good amount of space on the side of the road, once you've hit a few wineries, look out. Even though you aren't 'driving' you still need to know your limits. But, the folks at Zoom can recommend a route to enjoy your little bit of wine country in Canada.

Dave D.

Yelp
Went to rent a helmet as I forgot my own at home and was given excellent, friendly service with a huge smile! Such a great interaction and thank you for dealing with tourists in such a kind fashion!

Cindy J.

Yelp
My husband and I took their afternoon bike and vineyard tour. We arrived two hours early thinking we would leave the car and walk to Old Town Niagara on the Lake. When we checked in the girl asked if we wanted our bikes so we could bike around before the tour! We were thrilled and spent the next hour and a half biking around town. We returned to the shop to wait for our tour. We ended up with two other couples and our tour guide, Fred. He was great! He had worked In the vineyards and was an excellent guide taking us to not 3 but 6 Vineyards!!! We had 5 tastings and at one stop he just wanted to show us a cool room where they serve ice wine. We were so impressed with everything! The ride was supposed to be 3.5 hours and turned into 4.5 hours plus the extra time we had our bikes. Having Fred set everything up was amazing as it was very busy at each stop. The riding was easy even after five tastings. And Zoom picked up all of our purchases and had them waiting for us when we retuned. The whole process of checking in, getting our bikes and checking out could not have been easier. I would absolutely recommend this trip if you're going to see Niagara Falls. It's only 30 minutes away and was without question a highlight of our trip. Way to go Zoom! Y'all rock! And give Fred a bonus. He's the best.

Yelp
Wonderful location, fast and friendly service, well maintained and comfortable bikes. Will definitely go back and tell our friends to try them out too.

Yelp
Love to ride in the NOTL area. We rented road bikes this time which for us (avid roadies) was great. Better than the hybrids and we could really put non some miles. Zooms delivered to the hotel which was awesome but we ended up at the shop because we needed some fitting and shoe clip adjustment. Glad we did that because I had a bike that wasn't built for the type of rider I am. Got that resolved by Steve the owner. He took good care of us and we got situated on the right bikes. The ride to the falls was awesome and it was a beautiful day and also a Thursday so it wasn't as busy as the weekend rides might be. We kept the bikes overnight and rode the next day to the canal. That was really nice, the road getting there was pretty rough and a bit busy. ThE staff at zoom helped us with routes And the service to the hotel was great.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
We had the perfect afternoon winery tour! It was a busy day and getting checked in was a little slow, but it all worked. The bikes were comfortable, water and snacks much appreciated, and Gwen was a terrific guide. A good time was had by all!

Yelp
I am a Girl Guide leader and I with 8 teenage girls took a tour of Niagara on the Lake region during the first week in August with the most fun and amazing tour guide, Debbie. I would absolutely recommend this company and this particular tour guide!! She was fantastic. She was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the area, its history and showed us some of the most beautiful spots in the area. She took great care of us crossing all the major roads we came across and overall it really7 was the most enjoyable day. The girls had trekked 17km on the Bruce Trail the day before and were concerned about the alot of cycling but they had no trouble doing so and all said it was the highlight of their trip. The Zoom bikes were light with really comfortable seating and provided a pouch in the front which fit our water bottles and other supplies we brought along to enjoy the day. Nice touch Debbie to stop at the ice cream store near the smallest chapel in the world! Girls loved that! Way to Zoom and Debbie! We definitely would do it again with you and are recommending it to all our friends! It was great!
