Zostel Gokarna

Stayed at Zostel Gokarna over a weekend. Amazing location on a cliff with beach view from dorm and outdoor lounge. The campus was neat and arranged with proper parking slots. Saw few stray animals inside but none disturbing anyone. Stayed in both Superior and deluxe dorm. The only difference is the Superior one has a beach view and bigger toilet. Bed size and other facilities were all same. Seperate charging points on each bed and common room is available with few games. They have an in house cafe and bar but menu was very limited. Food and alcohol prices are bit high. Bar menu was very poor. There are other cafes around and was cheaper comparatively. Also Zostel should start a convenience store because there are no such stores nearby and need to climb down the cliff.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to both the beach and stunning cliff views. It was the ideal spot for a laid-back coastal getaway. The property manager Mo was incredibly helpful and always around to assist with anything we needed, which made us feel really welcomed and taken care of. The vibe at the hostel was great too—friendly travelers, easy conversations, and a genuinely good crowd. Game nights were a highlight! Fun, relaxed, and such a great way to connect with others. Would definitely stay here again!

We recently stayed at Zostel Gokarna, booking a 6-bed mixed dorm during our trip in the rainy season. The property is located at a prime spot on the Gokarna cliff, offering beautiful views of Gokarna Beach right from the common area. Since the hostel is on top of the cliff, we could see the vast stretch of the beach and waves rolling in from the top, which felt refreshing even with the rain around. The property is well maintained, clean, and has a peaceful yet social vibe, making it a good choice for travellers looking to unwind or meet other travellers without compromising on comfort. The dorm rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. However, one area for improvement would be the absence of privacy curtains on each dorm bed, which would have made the stay even better, especially for travellers who prefer a bit more personal space while staying in shared accommodation. Despite this, we were overall satisfied with our stay at Zostel Gokarna. Another plus is that the property has Mantra Café on the same premises, serving good food and coffee, so there’s no need to step out for meals, especially helpful during rainy days. Overall, Zostel Gokarna is a convenient, clean, and relaxing place to stay while exploring Gokarna, with the added advantage of a prime cliff-top location

I stayed at Zostel Gokarna for a week during my solo trip, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was warm, welcoming, and full of life. The community engagement, daily activities, and the energy of the place made it incredibly easy to meet new people and feel at home. Special shoutout to Adi, the community manager , an amazing host who truly knows how to bring people together. Whether it was organizing games, curating the perfect evening vibe, or simply chatting, Adi made everyone feel included and entertained. By the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend The location is unbeatable, imagine sipping coffee while staring at the Arabian Sea from the cafe or the Zostel lobby. The live music on weekends brings the whole place alive, and the after-parties are just as amazing filled with laughter, good conversations, and unforgettable memories. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or just need a break, this is the perfect place to unwind and connect. Can’t wait to return someday! 🧡

A really wonderful stay with beach facing views. The company u get when u go solo or with friends is really awesome here. Cafe food is decent personally I would like to have more flavour. Amenities are awesome here as well.

The view point was very beautiful and the foods were luxurious. I arrived during the rainy seasons so I couldn't take the full enjoyment but still worth it. I will come at the right season with my family and friends and have lots of fun there. Until we meet again.

We had the worst experience with Zostel Gokarna. Our confirmed bookings were cancelled without any prior notice, which was completely unprofessional. What’s more frustrating is that even after checking with them before our trip and getting confirmation that our booking was intact, we arrived only to be told that it had been cancelled. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and completely indifferent to our situation. It felt like once a place becomes popular, they stop caring about guest experience and accountability. There are many better places to stay in Gokarna that actually value their guests and provide far better service. I strongly recommend exploring other options over this one.

It used to have a different kind of vibe—more rustic and raw—but with the recent renovations, it now has a modern yet beautifully travel-friendly atmosphere. The updates have enhanced the experience while still preserving the essence of what makes this place special. This time, however, my stay was more than just about good vibes and scenic beauty. I had the misfortune of meeting with an accident, and that’s when I truly saw the heart of this place. The new management, who have taken over since my last visit, went above and beyond to help me during a tough time. They took care of me in ways I never expected—from making sure I was comfortable to constantly checking in on me, ensuring I had everything I needed. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. It’s rare to find a place that feels like more than just a stay, but Zostel Gokarna is exactly that. It’s not just about the location or the facilities; it’s about the people who make it what it is. I’ll always be grateful for the care I received, and it only reinforces why I keep coming back.
