I tried Zostel's rooftop café. It involves climbing up five flights of stairs, so I'd had a nice cardio by the time I arrived on this 5th floor setup. On the way I was impressed by Zostel's cleanliness, design and funky wall graphics. It does make a really nice first impression. Unfortunately, the people manning the lovely rooftop café weren't too service-minded. Maybe coz I was a solo diner. They don't have a physical menu, which is fine, but the app scan didn't work as planned. Despite placing orders four times, the cart still showed up empty. It could've been an issue with my phone settings. A staff member was willing to take a manual order but wasn't too clear about my oats with hot milk order or muesli with honey and curd. Feeling discouraged, I preferred to take my custom elsewhere to the more pricey Hummingbird nearby. The café is great for in-house guests and maybe groups from outside (as non-guests are welcome), as prices are moderate, if they can just get the app right.
