Zostel Rishikesh (Tapovan)

Pros——- 1. Went solo but met amazing group of people here. 2. Garden and rooftop cafe is a perk. 3. Good and happy vibes. 4. Friendly staff. 5. Well-furnished dorms, spacious, ventilated. 6. Good view from balcony. 7. They organised a walk to Sai ghat. Told interesting stories. Should organise more such outdoor and in-house activities. 8. Felt safe for women. Cons——- 1. Inhouse cafe is on 5th floor. Property has no lift. So climb to terrace everytime you are hungry. 2. Bad wifi connectivity in the property. Only works in the reception area. Not suitable for WFH. 3. Female dorm was stinking very badly for some reason, despite daily cleaning. 4. Drinking water tasted funny. 5. Food was on expensive side, as compared to other Zostels. 6. Common areas and seating spaces should be cleaned better and more frequently. 7. Blanket covers were not changed after previous guest left. Floor mats and rugs were also very dirty.

This stay was truly enchanting, with breathtaking views and a serene nighttime vibe. We lucked out with a last-minute booking in a spotless six-person dormitory, complete with AC and a sparkling clean washroom. However, the lack of an elevator was a workout — especially since the food court is on the fifth floor. By the time you reach your room, you might have already burned off the delicious meal you just had (silver linings, right?). The staff did mention plans for a lift, so fingers crossed for that upgrade. Speaking of food, every dish was a hit — worth every step of the mini mountain trek. Overall, a delightful experience with top-notch service and stunning scenery. Perfect for a relaxing escape (and a leg day workout).

Recently stayed at Zostel Rishikesh and was thoroughly unimpressed with the service and staff behavior. The staff was aggressive, arrogant, and completely unhelpful after booking. When I asked for assistance, I was met with indifference. To make matters worse, there's no lift, and the cafe is located on the 5th floor, making it a daunting task for those with mobility issues. The reception team was particularly unhelpful. Additionally, they seem to have no responsibility for parking, and I had to scramble to find a spot while someone else just pulled up in their car. Overall, my experience was pathetic, and I wouldn't recommend Zostel Rishikesh to anyone.

Very well maintained and neat and clean property . Walking distance to Sai Ghat , Secret Waterfall, Laxman Jhula, and other tourist and must visit places in Rishikesh . Property has a beautiful green garden with lawn , a rooftop cafe with mountain view . Good activities arranged by the host like Sunrise & Sunset visit points , live music , stand up comedy . Rooms very spacious , neat , clean with a balcony having a mountain view . Must stay if in Rishikesh . Highly recommended !

This is really a very pretty place to stay. I have not imagined this place to be this good and vibey but it is more than what you expect. Really glad we booked it here. Safe for women only, good surrounding and clean.

So i walked in zostel booked a bed for 2 nights. But next morning i had to leave in hurry! So I requested the staff around 10 am if they can cancel my booking for next day! And refund me some amount of money! They denied there’s no such provision! Also they said money is in owners account! They can’t help.. it was my first experience with zostel rishikesh tapovan! I

As a solo traveler, I recently stayed here during my travel, and overall, it was a decent experience. While there were some positives that I appreciated, there were a few aspects that could use improvement. Here’s a breakdown of the various aspects of my stay: Location: 4/5 * The hostel is located in a great spot, in terms of accessibility to ghats and market. * It is close to public transportation (tapovan auto stand), local eateries/cafes. * However, the surrounding area can get a bit noisy at night, which might be bothersome for light sleepers. Since it's within the city. Staff: 4.2/5 * Mr. Rahul, Mr. Shakti, Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Manoj were very friendly and welcoming! They were always ready to offer advice on things to do around the area and helped with booking tours and transportation. Their warmth definitely made my stay more enjoyable. * The staff were very helpful with local recommendations and tips. They really made an effort to make guests feel at home, and I appreciated their warm attitude. * However, there were a few instances where the cleaning staff seems bit reluctant. Cleanliness: 3/5 * The common areas were generally well-maintained, but I did notice that the bathrooms could use more frequent cleaning. * While not unbearable, there were some instances where the toilets and showers weren’t as tidy as I would have preferred. * A deeper cleaning of shared spaces would have made a big difference. * The dorm rooms - deluxe ones were good but standard ones I won't recommend. * The cleanliness was hit or miss. * Sometimes, there was a bit of an unpleasant smell, and the cleaning schedules didn’t seem very consistent. * More attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness would make a big difference. * The cleaning staff seems bit rude and reluctant to my requests. I had to ask for tissue roll papers and air freshener everyday as the cleaning person would neither place it by himself, nor will provide it soon once asked. Facilities: 4.5/5 * The hostel has a small common area at ground floor, but the cafe is at terrace (5th floor) and there is no lift. * There’s also free Wi-Fi, which worked well most of the time. * A few games in cafe and common area. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 * As a backpacker hostel, one can expect a social vibe and lively environment. * It could benefit from more organised events or activities to help people connect. The community manager seems missing. * In Cafe, they sometimes organise live music jamming sessions and movie/match screening. Value for Money: 4/5 * The price was reasonable in general, but little costly if considering the location and the basic amenities offered. * However, the cleanliness and lack of customer attention by staff slightly impacted the overall value. * While there were a few things that could be improved, it’s not bad considering the location and the affordable rate. Sleep Quality: 4/5 * The dorm rooms were spacious. * However, the lack of proper soundproofing means noise is inherent if someone is playing loud music nearby. Security – 5/5 * The hostel felt secure. * The lockers were provided for personal items, without locks (extra chargeable). * Security was one of the stronger points of this hostel. Overall Rating: 4.3/5 * While my stay here had its ups and downs, it was still a decent place to stay.

6 bed room is better than 4 bed room. 4 bed rooms are like matchbox, not as per other zostel standards. This hostel lacks good social environment, their comman area is their reception 🤣. I stayed for two days, they asked me to change the room after one day. Also there was not electricity for 6-8 hours in the hostel, no power backup.
