Zostel Udaipur

Zostel Udaipur is a lovely place to stay. You get a stunning lake view from both the room and the rooftop café. We stayed for three days and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, clean, and offered a beautiful view of the lake and city right from the bed. The rooftop restaurant was one of the highlights. The food was genuinely delicious, and though it took a bit of time to prepare, it was totally worth the wait. The staff were polite and helpful. I had asked for a hairdryer, which is usually available only for private rooms, but they still managed to arrange one for a day, which was nice of them. The property is on a hill, so be ready for a little climb, and the common area is smaller compared to some other Zostels I’ve visited. I think the community manager was on leave during our stay since there were no group activities in the common room. Maybe that’s why this five-star review is purely genuine and not one of those “after activity” reviews they usually ask for. Overall, it’s a peaceful and beautiful place to stay in Udaipur, with great views and food that truly make it worth coming back. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that outside food was not allowed, and the restaurant closed around 10:30–11:00 PM. My friend and I went to watch the night show from 8:00 PM, and when we returned at 11:30 PM, we couldn’t eat at the restaurant or order food online.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here if your plan is to pick something walkable for city palace area. It was a disappointing experience overall. There was no hot water available in the morning, which was a major inconvenience, especially if you're planning to start your day early around 8 AM. Getting to the property was quite a hassle and felt risky—the location is right on a steep hill, and navigating it with luggage was difficult and even a bit scary. Cars and autos can’t reach the entrance directly, and unfortunately, the staff didn’t offer any help with carrying bags. Food is good in their restaurant. While the rooftop area is nice, you can find similar views at other hotels in the same price range. Its private room, not the dorm, so I can’t comment on that option. Around $100 for stay was too much while consider all aspects. Outside city options - villas and resorts are good if its good vacation.

The location of the property is quite convenient, easily accessible. The ambience, food and service are also amazing, especially the rooftop from where you can enjoy the view of lake. For the solo traveller like me, the place is awesome which makes you feel homely and safe. Well behave hosts who make the stay quite comfortable for you. The best part is the community manager making sure that every person getting well with each other and no one feel isolated. Every people there were kind and smiling and will make you feel like family. I went there as solo traveller but I returned with so many good memories. An unforgettable trip with amazing travellers and best stay! The dorms are also quite comfortable. Really amazing and the best trip till date!! Looking forward to visit again...!!

Loved the sky deck; they were kind enough to let us practice for a friend's sangeet(made core memories). Awesome view and location accessibility. Market, jagat niwas palace, ambrai ghat and bagore ki haveli is just around. The food was tasty too.

Located right beside the famed Udaipur main lake. I stayed at a private room which was spacious and beautiful. Food was decent and the stuff behavior was extremely polite. Highly recommended.

Zostel Udaipur is the best stay for bachelors! 🌟 Great views, amazing rooftop, and excellent value for money. Sometimes you don’t even need to go anywhere – just sit and enjoy the view from the Zostel rooftop restaurant. Exactly as shown in the pictures, nothing less in reality! 🏞️✨

Rooms/dorms are clean, property is good. Little far from main city palace. Outside food and beverages are not allowed. First time encountered with a zostel property where this outside food rule applies. Other wise its a decent property.

Beautiful property little high slope to reach but the rooms the view and the services are outstanding, even I travelled solo but the property is very safe for you and even for your luggage, they have common space with facilities. 2 rooftops for amazing view in day and night also.
