Fabulous café! Went there for breakfast both mornings that we were in Seward. Breakfast menu was limited, but the food was high-quality and good value. Lunch menu is more expensive. Excellent cappuccinos and lattes. Ambience perfect - Cozy and beautiful. Location cannot be beat on the bay. Be sure to walk the Sea Otter trail along Resurrection Bay right outside before AND after your meal!

Great chowder and coffee. Cute seating area outside with nice views. We got the pastrami sandwich, it was good but in hindsight I wish we had it as a panini since it was a bit drier than I wanted it to be. Both ladies taking my order weren’t that warm when ordering. My coffee gal just spilled my double espresso and gave me a glass full of spilled coffee, it was kinda weird.

Came here for a cup of coffee and ended up talking to a local couple for a little while. Their coffee, carrot cake and strawberry bar were excellent and listening to people everthing else was just as good. The staff was very busy but still friendly. And the locals said that they were very good friends with the owners. I love coming to these "little" local shops and giving my money to them. They also seem to always have the best food and drinks. We will be back and I can't wait.

Wow! What a find? So glad we decided to come here from lunch. Their paninis and sandwiches are very tasty. The staff is super nice and the food came out quick!

I was shocked by the price vs food received. My dish included 1/4 of a strawberry and 1/2 of reindeer sausage filleted to appear larger and 2 paper thin pieces of toast. I understand this is a touristy area but it was absolutely bonkers how expensive this was for the amount of food. $12 for a slice of cake $20+ for a small breakfast plate Also, they ask for tip.. however you order at the counter and get your own utensils and water. You also seat yourself. I will say that the ambiance is nice.

A cozy, artsy cafe with a beautiful view of the water/mountains! The staff were super nice/sweet. Our food was ready before we were done looking through their local art (Kelly Leonard’s work is pictured)! I had the Greenie and it was light and fresh. I also had their duffin- very dense and paired well with my latte!

Google
Great food, fast service, good drinks. Had the Reuben and it was excellent. Saw complaints about the price, was delicious and on the water—you pay for what you’re getting.

Lexie Miller

Google
Tasty food with a great location right next to the water with indoor and outdoor seating. Didn’t love the service while the order was being taken, food delivered or questions on cleanup but the location and food can make up for some of that.

Yelp
We loved Zudys! Located at the Water front park in Seward, it's housed in an historic railway station. Cute eaterie with a good assortment of sandwiches, soups, and salads. Sandwiches are definitely shareable! We didn't try the desserts but they had a good choice of cheesecakes and cakes. Order at the counter and they bring you the food at your table. For the amount of business they do, the food came out very quickly. They also have outdoor seating.

Yelp
Zudy's Cafe is a delightful find in a hideaway town at the top of Resurrection Bay, off of the Gulf of Alaska. The pleasant and prompt service delivered appetizing fare in a rustic, down home type of cafe' that is very welcoming to outsiders and locals alike. Decorated with art for sale by local artists this gem is an unintentional gallery that also serves food. My party enjoyed; a Belgian Waffle, the Breakfast Platter featuring; Reindeer Sausages, eggs, sourdough bread and potatoes, and The Salmon and Eggs featuring; smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, on sourdough toast with sprouts and a chili sauce. All food was prepared quickly and expertly, served hot and bursting with flavor. Price-wise, Zudy's is on par with other Alaskan eateries, which is to say pricey compared to the lower 48. Be prepared to pay $20.00+ PP for breakfast meals. On a brisk Alaskan morning in Seward, AK, Zudy's Cafe receives my highest and hearty recommendation.

Yelp
The panini sandwich was really yummy and warm to the soul. They sell it with a side a side of chips and aioli. You order at the counter (to go or for here) and they'll serve it to your table. It's self serve water, napkins, and utensils as well. This little restaurant is really cute and the vibes remind of me of a grandma's house.

Yelp
Tiny little cafe with really good soup and sandwiches or panini's. Ordered the Oakie and roasted chicken soup. The Oakie comes with Bacon Gouda, havarti onions and apples so good. The soup just what the Dr ordered with the cool weather. Just may need to wait a few minutes for a table as it's so tiny inside. Friendly service and you have to clear your own tables.

Yelp
A truly Alaskan experience! Sandwiches and desserts with a view of the water. Venue is a former railroad depot. Service is efficient and friendly. Handmade items for sale. Don't miss Zudy's for lunch!

Yelp
Was driving through and multiple people we met in town told us to try out Zudy's. Well worth the trip! Great views of the water and a great selection of lunch options. Everyone seemed to know each other and made us feel super welcome. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
Quaint little cafe on the Seward waterfront. Bit pricey but the food was good and views in the morning amazing.

Yelp
Cute little rustic cafe located between downtown and the water. Came for lunch and the place was busy but we managed to find a table. I had the Turkey sandwich and a cup of the chicken and vegetable soup. The soup was very tasty and light. The sandwich was also quite tasty. A bit pricey but that's Alaska.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches and salads with great beer selection? Quaint atmosphere, but arrive early as there is limited seating. It is adjacent to a park on the water, so perfect for takeout too.

Yelp
First this place deserves the great reviews. The only reason for deducting a star is because there is no organization around seat assignment - basically if you put something on the table without ordering you get that table - however if you ask - they say please order first. We followed the direction and let's just say - we had to vigilantly claim a table a messy table and clean ourselves. Not what I was expecting and better service could have made my experience 5-star. The food was great (sandwiches), yet, the donut muffin and banana bread is where they stand out. And boy do they ever. The banana bread is the best I've had. Not overly moist, great balance of flavors and a little espresso and chocolate. Amazing. The muffin donut was another level, the star of the show. Frankly it is going to make me miss this place and will have me craving more. Thanks for the great meal!

Yelp
Rude staff, refused to allow us to customize, served cold soup. Tuna sandwich made my wife sick and vomiting just minutes after eating it. Would never recommend this place.

Yelp
My food was excellent! Hit the spot. I knocked 1 point off because of the seating situation. We asked when we walked in if we just grab a table and they told us to order first and then sit. Meanwhile, other people came in and threw something down on a table to claim it before ordering and they didn't have a problem with that either. We had to play shuffle as new people came in and grab a table and clean it. If the staff seated people it would really help. That said, again, my meal was fantastic. The jazzy is a roast beef sandwich with peppers and horseradish. It was a great blend of flavor. These little "donut muffins" were insanely good! My husband and I were just going to split one and then we had to grab another so we had a whole one. Too good to just have half! Lol Bonus - the view is stunning! Looking out over the water and at snow covered mountains while Enjoying your meal is pretty epic!

Yelp
Awesome food, everything was fresh and delicious. Excellent service in a pleasing atmosphere overlooking the water. Highly recommend for a wonderful meal while in Seward.

Yelp
Coffee was amazing. Ambience was spectacular. Best music too! Staff were friendly/quick. The place was a bit cramped but quaint and well decorated for the space. Beautiful view of the bay and located just outside the Alaska SeaLife Center. Stopped after our visit here. Food was delicious although pricey for the portions. Would definitely return!

Yelp
In the old railroad building - a building that survived the 1964 earthquake and Tsunami by the way - we stopped in for lunch. BLT, Roast Beef and Cheese, Chicken soup and Van sandwich. All amazing tasting and the service was great. Right on the water the views are great - and there is no doubt it is crowded in summer ! Our April visit was full and busy and IS definitely worth the stop when here.

Yelp
We were in town for a couple of days and finally had a chance to try Zudy's! The historic building is cool and they had lots of fresh produce out in baskets. It's a limited menu of a handful of sandwiches and paninis, and perfect for grabbing a quick meal to go. We ordered a turkey panini with bacon, avocado, and cheese, and it was fine. Overall I'd say the menu is plain and straightforward. The staff were all friendly and the cafe was clean.

Yelp
Best bite in town. Soup was fantastic and delicious. Unique sandwich options. Bright and friendly staff. Seating is limited and the were very busy. They have outdoor seating

Yelp
Zudy's came highly recommended by our airbnb host and we were impressed! The breakfast sandwich bread is to die for and perfect treat before a long hike up exit glacier! Coffee was delicious!

Robinette A.

Yelp
Love it every time we go! We love Seward! We love the ocean views! We love the historic train station that is Zudy's Cafe. A terrific environment and food!

Carol Q.

Yelp
Like the casual ambiance and food. It was a cold day summer day and the curry soup was delicious. Had a sandwich and panini which were well served too. Service was excellent.

Karen U.

Yelp
Wanted to grab a coffee but they were closed. I get it- but lock your doors or put up a sign! Don't be rude when we walk in unaware. Smelled like the coffee might have been good - but we probably won't come back just because one person was quite rude.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
The view here was gorgeous. Staff were great, food was quick, but unfortunately our breakfast food was pretty lackluster and tasteless. Would definitely give it another try as their baked good looked good and their lunch/dinner may be better. They didn't have an option for iced coffee either.

Yelp
Bagel cream cheese and salmon, 15 bucks...lol. Rip off. The average price for a sandwich is 18 bucks.

Frances S.

Yelp
Darling restaurant, with excellent coffee and sandwiches. We ate in. I had the Caprese sandwich, soooo delish! The soup was good, also, according to my husband and sister in law.

Yelp
Food: two of us had the paninis and two of us had the sandwiches. Overall, hey we're pretty good. It was interesting and refreshing having thinly sliced apples incorporated into the sandwich. The bacon panini didn't have a lot of bacon in it nor did my wife's BLT. They each need a couple of more slices. The desserts were very good. Service: When you walk into the place you need to get a table. There aren't many and there is no order to who can get them first. People walking in after us would see someone leaving and just walk over there and grab the table. I guess it's the way they do things but it's the main reason for the 4 stars. I probably had this closer to 3-1/2 stars but one of the employees came over with 4 slices of this banana bread with espresso apologizing for the table issue. The bread was extremely delicious and worth ordering. Ambiance: it's a quaint cafe with only a few tables. The view outside is one of the best you will experience as it overlooks the waterway with the snow capped mountains in the background. It's worth a stop here if you find yourself in Seward. Be prepared to sit outside or in your car if they don't have room inside. But the food and the views are pretty awesome.

Yelp
3.75 stars. What a grand location! Right near the water with mountains all around. The day we visited, the place seemed a bit understaffed. It was fairly busy and it took a while before we were acknowledged as we stood awkwardly inside the front door. Once seated, I enjoyed seeing fresh flowers on each tabletop. We had a fresh purple tulip. I liked the different artworks hanging on the walls, it made for a colorful interior with lots to look at. Our order of 2 paninis & 1 open faced tuna bagel took around 30 minutes to arrive. The order came automatically inside to-go boxes. No utensils or napkins were given. My group said their food tasted good. I thought it was odd that they didn't offer plates to share, napkins, utensils, salt, pepper, etc. I loved the fresh sprouts and blueberries on my "Chubby Mermaid" sandwich but it was extremely difficult to eat, and could have used a little more moisture in the tuna salad. 3 sandwiches and 3 sodas cost a bit over $50.00. All in all, I liked the vibe, but I wasn't impressed. Quite a scenic place though.

Yelp
Older woman with glasses at the register was extremely rude and condescending, and was also rude to the other staff working there. Food was mediocre for the price point.

Yelp
If there's one place in Seward that you absolutely cannot miss I'll let you know right now, it's Zudy's. The first evening I arrived in Seward I asked a girl at a local health food store about good places to eat for breakfast and dessert options (pretty standard for me ;) she mentioned Zudy's and their duffin and cheesecakes. I was hoping to stop in for breakfast but we grabbed coffee at a nearby place and Zudy's wasn't open yet, then we ended up hiking for several hours and just missed their 2p closing time. I was pretty bummed until we pulled into the parking lot and spotted diners exiting and their door still open. I immediately asked my friend to stop and hop out with me, saying we need to be super friendly and hope we can snag some goodies to go. Sure enough, they let us! They were super accommodating and welcoming although it was about 10 after 2. We picked up a berry kombucha, dirty almond chai latte, chocolate chip cookie and two duffins. Everything was super tasty. When I asked if their cheesecakes were made in spring form pans they said yes and they have 40, I fell in love. I guess staring at stand mixers, desserts, fresh tulips, friendly faces and the cutest dog on the patio just pulled it all together for me. I'd been having a not so great time on this trip due to the time of year and many activities being closed and non accessible, trying Zudy's before heading out and continuing the road trip was a real highlight of my week. It was a bit chilly (in the low 30s) but enjoying a warm bevvie, and a bite of sweets over looking Ressurection Bay was really pretty and nice. The menu looks fantastic here, I snapped a few pics to remind myself of some items I wanted to create when I got home. Highly recommend dining here if you're in Seward.

Yelp
Amazing food and service with a gorgeous view of the bay! We returned a few times on our one week trip because it was so delicious.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Such a cute place! The location is great, with a great view of the bay. The food is amazingly wonderful, and the people are so engaging and nice. The Zelly panini was really good, and the strawberry shortbread bar was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Came here on a really, really rainy day. We walked in craving a warm meal. Grabbed some panini's and coffees. Totally hit the spot! I ate a turkey Panini and the avocado had just enough to make It not dry, cheddar complimented It nicely. Chips were that needed crunch, with a drip coffee-$20.

Yelp
We had extra time before our timed entry into Alaska SeaLife Center and had heard good things about Zudy's. Plus, we had walked the path along Resurrection Bay from the Seward harbor on this damp and blustery day and the Salmon Chowder special listed on the blackboard outside sounded delicious. Three of us went for lunch on what was our second day in Alaska on a 2-week trip (with lots of dining out) and it turned out to be one of our family's favorite meals. Located in the former Seward Train Station, Zudy's Cafe was warm and welcoming and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were lucky to be able to grab a table right away and wait for our counter-ordered meals to be brought to us. Here's where they shine - the Salmon Chowder was amazing, and my family agreed that it was perhaps some of the best fish chowders we've each ever had, light, yet hardy, and the flavor was excellent. The Nectarine Caprese Salad contained literally the sweetest nectarines I've ever tasted (and we eat a lot of locally-grown nectarines during Michigan summers), and the Turkey, Avocado, Cheddar, Bacon Panini was very good, as well. Despite it being a very filling lunch, we couldn't pass up a shared slice of their homemade Mint Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, which was truly spectacular. Our meal was so great that I made sure that Zudy herself heard from me about our experience before we left. If you're in Seward during their hours of operation, I would absolutely make this one of your stops!

Yelp
Great place to grab a coffee and some to-go food. Unlike a lot of spots in Seward, they appear to be open year-round. It's unfortunate that they had to deal with some arrogant, un-masked younger people when I was there. Shame on y'all. The business handled them with kindness and grace.

Yelp
Zudys is great! Sandwiches are great and homemade desserts are always satisfying. Great place to hang out outside during a sunny day or inside on a rainy day. Lots of seating and great atmosphere. Coffee was ok but overall a great place I'd always recommend. Service was good and it never takes long to get your food! Carrot cake is amazing!

Yelp
We've thoroughly enjoyed every time we've been to Zudy's! Their baked goods are incredible. Their sandwiches are always perfection with ratios and how crispy the bread is. Highly recommend making a stop here while in Seward. Their staff are all very polite and professional, too. Get a Zelly!

Carole L.

Yelp
Excellent little cafe with a great selection. Enjoyed walking along the water after a nice lunch. Super friendly people too!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service, friendly staff and very good food. It was busy while we were there but the wait wasn't long and there was no issue with seating. We were only 3 people, but I can see that with larger groups that might be a problem. Right on the water and only steps from the Sea Life Center.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
First of all you get lunch with a gorgeous view. That alone is worth this stop! The corn chowder was plentiful and hot and the panini was soooo good. A bowl of soup and a panini was plenty to split with my husband. Such friendly service and a super cute cafe!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute Sandwich Restaurant. Highly recommend the Reuben. Eat on the porch and enjoy the scenery. Watching the eagles soaring by. Just beautiful.

Yelp
Delicious food, especially on a cold day! Must get the soup of the day and the Oakie sandwich

Yelp
Beautiful location in the middle of glaciers and fjords. Enjoy the cup of coffee watching the beautiful Vista outside. We got the cappuccino americano and latte and all were really good. We did not try the food but it seemed very popular.

Yelp
I'd definitely say Zudys cafe is more on the local side of restaurants, it fits right in next to the ocean view and tasty absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of there chia tea and paninis, highly recommend

Amanda K.

Yelp
For such a chic, cute place - I was very disappointed with their lack of GF options. They assured us that they could make their sandwiches into a good salad...I'm here to testify that that wasn't true. That salad wasn't very good. I'm not sure what was stopping them from offering something like a lettuce wrap (or getting GF bread). But ultimately, as a gluten free eater, I would not recommend this restaurant.

Jack M.

Yelp
Wow ... what an awful restaurant. Basically just junk from the grocery store down the road slapped together with a 500% up-charge. We paid something like $40 for two bagels with salmon and cream cheese ... and then after we paid we were told they were out of salmon and got about 2 tablespoons of tuna salad as a substitute. Just a sad, sad, pathetic place. Save your money and go literally anywhere else ... and that includes both the grocery store or a gas station.
google avatar

Cherilyn I.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best salad I've ever had...I read on an old post that they had salads but didn't see it on the menu so I asked. Any of the sandwiches can be made into a salad and they recommended the Van as a salad. It was a generous portion and a perfect balance of fresh veggies and pesto and artichokes!
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
If you are in Seward during the tourist season, we highly recommend breakfast at Zudy's Cafe and their baked treats! Today, 9/28/19, was their last day serving breakfast until next summer. Otherwise, they are open for lunch. Zudy's is also a catering company. And if you ever need to order a cake, Zudy's is legit!

CJ H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service and food. Food is good and fast. Great location for visiting/walking around Seward.
