I eat sushi 2 to 3 times a week, and have tried sushi all over the Tampa bay and this is by far hands down the best sushi I have ever had here in Florida. The selection of sushi is second to none and outstanding quality. Great cocktail menu, and so many amazing menu items. The best roll of them all in my opinion was the spicy blue fin tuna roll— the black garlic aioli pairs so beautifully with the fish. Our service was also wonderful. Will definitely be back.

The taste of all the food from and Zulu location is impeccable. However, today I order on Uber eats, and selected the pick up option. My wait time was anticipated to be 32 minutes however my food wasn’t done until 58 minutes later. When I received my Zukku roll I was disappointed to find that no soy sauce, wasabi, or ginger was provided. The roll only have lemon slices on 4 of the 8 pieces. I also ordered chicken fried rice which came with the option of soup or salad. I chose miso soup which had 2 total pieces of tofu. My chicken fried rice had numerous pieces of chicken that were charred. The fried rice was so char tasting it was inedible I was given 3 pairs of chopstick and 3 plastic renge spoons but no fork or regular spoon to eat the rice. My rating is based on the fact that while they serve great food, if you go when they are busy it is best to leave. This is now the third time I’ve ordered when the restaurant was full and the food did not meet the quality I was expecting.

I have had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant on several occasions, typically for special gatherings with family and friends. Most recently, I celebrated my birthday here and felt it was finally time to share a review. The overall experience has consistently been exceptional. The quality of the sushi and sashimi is outstanding—fresh, artfully prepared, and rich in flavor. Service, while understandably affected by the high volume of guests on weekends, has always been commendable. Though the restaurant could benefit from additional staff during peak hours, every server we’ve encountered has been attentive and courteous. On my most recent visit, our server—Aiden, a young woman of Asian descent—stood out in particular. She was not only warm and welcoming but also impressively knowledgeable about the menu and its diverse offerings. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience considerably. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking quality Japanese cuisine and a memorable dining atmosphere. You will not be disappointed.

Google
Service was great and the food was delicious, although it was a little on the slower side. Unfortunately, my “Mexican Roll” had some texture issues and even a small piece of paper in it, which was disappointing. Besides that, everything else was very good.

Recently stopped In to have a quick bite around dinner time - was nervous it was going to be packed and had to wait but once we walked in we were seated quickly. Such a nice and fun atmosphere to enjoy some sushi. Mark was our server and was very nice and attentive. Started with a Cucumber Sunomono salad and the flavor was there, very light and perfect to start a meal with. We had picked a few rolls and nigiri and all tasted so fresh and flavorful. Will be returning soon!!

Let me tell you something! WOW!! I never had sushi in my life u til last summer my woman brought me to another place then the next week we found this place and it’s addictive! I love sushi now because of yall!! The service food atmosphere is amazing🫶🏻

Google
I’ve been here multiple times, and it’s a five-star experience every time. For appetizers, I always have to get the baked mussels and crispy rice, they’re both absolutely delicious! When it comes to rolls, the shrimp volcano is my go-to, while my boyfriend loves the dancing dragon roll. The restaurant is always spotless, and the service is consistently excellent. Our server, Adeline, made our visit even better with her fantastic recommendations and warm hospitality. Keep in mind that weekends are busy, and reservations aren’t available on Fridays or Saturdays, but you can call ahead 15 minutes before arriving to get on the waitlist. If you love sushi, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Has quickly become our favorite sushi 🍣 spot in north Tampa! 👏 Excellent mixed drinks 🍸 Lobster 🦞 masterpiece roll is one of the best anywhere. 😋

Yelp
Amazing place, price is very good. Food always fresh and tasty. Service great, I called and asked them to hold a seat for me, and they did. Definitely recommend !

Yelp
We really enjoy this sushi and the ambiance at this restaurant. It's always very clean and beautiful inside. We stopped by on a Saturday and it was busy. We had miso soup and some rolls. Everything was very tasty but this time it took forever to get the rolls. This particular visit only gets 4 stars due to the wait for our food and not the food itself.

Yelp
Fun night vibe and amazing food and drinks! Pre dinner towel service is a welcomed little event and the service is great! We had a large group with adults and teens and everyone ordered something G different, too many to list here. The sushi bar is good and we will def come again! They do not take reservations on weekends.

Yelp
Craving for sushi, we searched for a new spot and came across Zukku-San Sushi Bar & Grill. Since we had never been there before, we decided to give it a try for dinner. The restaurant was 20 minutes from our place, and we were happy to find plenty of parking available. Upon entering, we were greeted at the register and quickly seated at our table. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Our server, Kathy, greeted us with menus and water. After browsing the menu and chatting with Kathy, we ordered: Salmon Crispy Roll, Crab Rangoon, Miso Soup, Torched Salmon, Dancing Dragon Roll, Zukku Roll and Philadelphia Roll. We started with the Miso Soup, which was a flavorful way to kick off our meal. Alongside it, the Salmon Crispy Roll and Crab Rangoon Roll were both delicious appetizers that set the tone for a great dinner. Next came our sushi rolls, which were beautifully presented and full of flavor. Among them, the Torched Salmon Roll and Zukku Roll were the standout dishes of the night. Overall, Zukku-San Sushi Bar & Grill impressed us with its fresh, flavorful sushi and inviting ambiance. .

Yelp
The customer service was OK. We were quickly seated on. Monday afternoon. The waitress did not acknowledge gave me. She spoke to my wife, as if I didn't exist. This is my second visit to this restaurant. The first time wasn't so great. This visit was pretty good was much better. I ordered a shrimp tempura sushi roll. The rice and seaweed had a good texture, but the shrimp was kinda hard and tough. Shrimp tempura and broccoli appetizer were really good. The spring rolls were cooked pretty well, the only issue is they were dripping in sauce. Overall, the food is pretty good. Aside from the waitress, I would return.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by on a random weekday for a quick dinner. Lychee martinis were fantastic and the food was just as delicious. Service was great as well. For those who thought the music was too loud get takeout and go eat in a library. Can't wait to return.
google avatar

Steve F.

Yelp
The food is fair for Sushi, prices are not bad. Place thinks it is a night club with loud music that is very unexpected for a Sushi restaurant. At times they turned it up to the point you could not hear the person next to you. It was good dance music, just not right for dinner.

Yelp
We are sushi fans and came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. It was early in the afternoon yet several tables were occupied. We ordered the fried avocado tempura, delicious light appetizer along with the seared Ahi tuna. try the grilled Hamachi collar delicious fish seasoned so well. The dishes were delicious all of them. Mark W our server was very attentive and on task the dishes had perfect flow from appetizer to entrée to dessert. Very positive experience. Dishes are all priced right. Plenty of parking in the plaza. A must return to dining experience.

Yelp
This place was amazinnng! We came here after a work conferent and everything was amazing! Appetizer: I had the bake oyster and truly amazing! Kind of salty but i would definetly try it again! Food; We had sushi that i totally forgot to take a picture of because i was so hungry but everything was sooo good!! Service was amazing! Our server was nice! The ambiance was calm and not too loud! Would totally come back!

Yelp
Decided to try this place after a friend recommended and I am so glad we did. We usually stick to our one sushi spot, but Zukku definitely comes close to top of our list with sushi now. The service was great and our waiter knew a lot about the menu when we asked him questions. The music was incredible in the background, they had my favorite DJ going all night long. Between sushi and my favorite DJ i was in heaven. Check out my personal experience on my foodie account travelingtastebuds_ https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_dE2Lqxv5T/?igsh=MWoxMHVwZmI4c3ZyYw==

Yelp
We were not impressed with this sushi restaurant experience. We did a take out. First off, the soup was ridiculously small, literally less than half the container was filled... the fried rice had little flavor. The sushi was mediocre and the spicy tuna (my usual fav.) had some spice but was missing something. We just felt like everything was meh compared to other local sushi options. Sadly, with all the other great sushi options in the area we are unlikely to come back...
google avatar

Alyssa R.

Yelp
This is the best sushi in the area, in my opinion. The sushi is amazing quality and fairly priced. Four of us shared the small sushi palette which came with your choice of 7 rolls for $79. A great deal for sharing with friends! The apps we tried were delicious too. Will have to come back and save room for dessert! I already regret not trying the ube cheesecake.
google avatar

Christina G.

Yelp
Solid five star experience. I have never over ordered so badly in my life, but I can say that the sushi was still delicious the next day. To me, the mark of good sushi is the fresh fish and fish to rice ratio. I hate places that overdo the rice. Here, the their rice ratio is perfect. I really appreciate that. I had the Asian Pear Martini and it was delicious. I would definitely order it again. For starters we got the Zukku Dumplings, Grilled Hamachi Collar and Tempura Whole Soft Shell Crab. My favorite of the three was the Tempura Whole Soft Shell Crab. Then we decided to do the Large Sushi Palette. It's 6 Masterpiece Sushi Rolls and 8 Classic Rolls. I forgot that two of our party really don't like sushi, so they ordered their own dishes and this was way way too much food for four of us. Do I regret it, no. We just powered through. I'm not able to actually recite everything we got, but it was all amazing. I remember the Torched Salmon and Dueling Dragon being two favorites, but honestly, it was all good. I love places that have a lot of roll options that don't have cream cheese. The spider roll was also a favorite of mine. Dessert we had a bunch as well, the ube cheesecake was a favorite, as was the ginger yuzu creme brulee. A fantastic way to end the meal. The decor of this place is beautiful and the parking lot has a ton of parking. It does get busy on a Friday night when they don't take reservations, but not enough people to deter you from coming and waiting for a short amount of time. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Had a fantastic dinner here--everything from the service to the atmosphere was on point. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the vibe of the place made for a really enjoyable evening. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the experience. Left completely satisfied and looking forward to coming back. Definitely a gem worth checking out!!!

Yelp
My cousins and I ordered take out from here and everything was fresh. All of the dishes were neatly packed and I loved the quality. We ordered everything from the stuffed peppers, crab rangoon, salmon toro nigiri, salmon nigiri, spicy salmon roll, hamachi maki roll, rainbow roll, centipede roll and the shrimp tempura roll. I loved the toro, hamachi, centipede and spicy salmon roll. When we arrived to pick up the order everything was ready to go. There was a generous portion of ginger and wasabi. Prices are reasonable and service was on point. Highly recommend this place if you want to grab sushi to go. Their menu is very extensive so you'll find all types of dishes to satisfy your cravings. The restaurant is part of a local chain. They don't have as many reviews as some other locations, but we chose to order here after my cousin's have ordered from here multiple times.

Yelp
Zukku-San Sushi is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to and I have been to many! The dancing dragon roll is pure fire and I appreciate the hot towel service. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the sushi bar but the downside is the bar is so high no one can see the sushi being made. Also, the service was forgetful as our food was brought out with no plates or soy sauce. My 4 stars is all about the food taste, quality and variety. We finished off our dinner with the ginger yuzu crème brûlée and banana chocolate torte. Pure heaven!
google avatar

Joseph J.

Yelp
My wife doesn't eat fish but we still go because of all the other choices. She get a few different apps while me and my oldest eat a bunch of sushi together. Good atmosphere and great service
google avatar

DeeAnn G.

Yelp
Great service, nice social buzz here. Started with the lychee dragon cocktail, so good, I would have that again! Had 3 sushi rolls, the rainbow roll, the Picasso, and the Mexican roll. All were super delish!

Yelp
Been to Zukku- San Sushi Bar and Grill at least a handful of times now and I can easily say it's my fave restaurant in the area. First impression is how nice it is inside. It really stands out in decor. Secondly, everyone who is ever at the hostess stand is super friendly and welcoming. Servers are friendly and give good suggestions and detail. Food is great, there's a wide variety, & there's also options for non sushi and seafood lovers. This last visit I brought a friend from out of town. We shared two apps: baked mussels and kaarage chicken. Baked mussels were out of this world and our fave! We shared two rolls which were both amazing and different and unique in their own way a Butterfly roll and Spicy Bluefin Tuna. Lastly we shared the yuzu ginger creme brûlée and the Ube cheesecake. The creme brûlée was so unique with its flavors. The Ube cheesecake was so good except the drizzle on the plate which was salty. I always get something different every time I visit and would definitely come back and happy to bring friends who've never been so they can see how awesome it is!

Yelp
I've been here several times now, I'm based in West Palm Beach but I always travel to Tampa and I make sure I stop here at least a couple times during my stay. I LOVE THIS PLACE! You definitely have to try their Torched Salmon roll, along with the spicy seafood soup. They are to die for. The service is 11/10 too! Very nice people work here, I've seen the manager around a couple times and I like how she works, she's subtle but makes sure everything is in place (and clean). This is 100% my favorite restaurant in FL.

Lira L.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience here and visited on a Saturday night. I sat at the sushi bar since I visited solo. I enjoyed the spring rolls as a starter, the marmalade accomplices with it was tasty. Although I feel less should be applied to the dish to avoid rolls being a bit soggy and effecting texture. The pear martini was delicious, I took my time to enjoy it. Didn't want that glass to end I honestly forgot which sushi roll I ordered as I'm doing this review super late so I apologize. I will say it was super fresh and tasty. The vibes here are nice, and I'll definitely be back with friends. Some may enjoy this as a nice casual Date night
google avatar

Yelp
This place is so delicious. Seafood was so fresh and service was wonderful. I highly recommend

Yelp
Great food terrible service, this was my first time here and I must say I'm not impressed at all with the lack of attention from MARK.

Yelp
We had lunch at this lovely Japanese restaurant and our meal was delightful. We had arrived just after a party ended; our hostess greeted us with a warm welcome and we had our choice of seating. Our server, Adeline was very courteous and treated us to her "magic trick" hot towels demo. We started lunch with Seaweed Salad and Miso Soup, followed by a beautifully presented sampling of 3 of their popular rolls: Dancing Eel, Shrimp Volcano and Dancing Dragon. Each was promptly served and every bite as flavorful as the last. I particularly enjoyed the simple elegance of the decor. The whimsical artistic renderings on the back of the T-shirt of the staff uniforms also got my attention, with the invitation to "eat more art"! I look forward to revisiting and would recommend it as a lovely addition to our Wesley Chapel dining options.

Yelp
My favorite place to come for brunch. Beautiful ambiance , cozy and clean. People who work here are very pleasant and friendly , very welcoming environment . The food is absolutely delicious and so are their cocktails . Pretty affordable prices.
google avatar

Bridget S.

Yelp
Great spot! The atmosphere was perfect and the bartender serving me was super friendly. The menu boasts plenty of options to satisfy your sushi needs. My favorite part of the menu was the a la carte tempura, since customization of tempura to that extent usually isn't common on most menus I've seen. The cocktails were also had great flavor without overdoing the sweetness
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance is great. Nice spot for a date night or a couple of friends. The food was fresh and tasty. So far my favorite Sushi spot.

S K.

Yelp
Ordered a roll, Nagiri, and a the Chicken Katsu. Got our roll and Nagiri, finished that, ordered more Nagiri, finished that. 55 minutes later still no Chicken Katsu. Server apologized but manager should at least be notified, come and over and say something. Most restaurants you can't remove an item from a check without the manager approval so it's not likely the manager didn't know. Didn't bother to come and say anything. Food we did get was good but probably not going back since it's not anything special and the experience was bad.
google avatar

Alvin G.

Yelp
Upon arriving, the restaurant was quite busy, and I initially thought we'd have a long wait. However, we were seated in just about 5 minutes. The dining area was clean, well-organized, and aesthetically pleasing, with some unique hidden tables along the walls that added a nice touch. My mother and I ordered Crab Rangoon, Miso Soup, Chicken Teriyaki with jasmine rice and steamed veggies (for me), a Torched Salmon Roll, Crab Hand Roll, and finished with the Ube Cheesecake for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. Everything was well-prepared, and you could tell it was handmade with care. Our waitress, Adeline, took excellent care of us throughout our meal. She thoroughly explained the ingredients in each dish and made great recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. She's a friendly, young Vietnamese woman, and her service truly elevated our experience.

Yelp
Very good sushi and defy the best sushi in the Lutz Land o' Lakes area. Today I was in the mood for simple but delicious fish and Zukku-San delivered. I liked the Akami appetizer but was hoping for more black garlic flavor. The O toro hand roll was fatty and smooth. The sushi rice was good but a tiny bit overcooked although not to the point of being unpleasant. I enjoyed the Lychee dragon cocktail. It's refreshing and sweet but not cloying so. I will definitely eat here again and plan to come back to enjoy more. I'm just happy to know I don't have to drive all the way to S Tampa for O toro!

Yelp
We met a girlfriend of mine -- who lives in the area -- for lunch here. It was okay. But not a place I'd rush back to based on what we had. We each got a bento box lunch. After it was served, we asked about the miso soup that was supposed to come with it. They did apologize and give it to us afterwards wrapped to go. I didn't care for the salad in the box. I did like the gyoza -- you can't ruin these too badly. The batter on the shrimp was a bit heavy and greasy for me. I'd asked for no onions, so they gave me mainly broccoli and a few boring slices of peppers as my tempura vegetables. His box had two rolls in it -- he got their Florida roll. It was good ,but not great. My friend got some sashimi. The fish was sliced thick and was a tad tough to chew. Most everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. It's a relatively new location -- a big open room. Maybe we didn't order right?

Yelp
Please go here! This place is so great! It can get really busy, so if you can make reservations, I would highly recommend to do so. The ambience is so cute, if you could sit in a booth, I would definitely sit in a booth. The booth area is very private and the decorations and here are super cute! The service is great, they come with hot towels before your meals which is awesome. The food comes out super fast! And it's fresh and hot! Definitely try the crab raccoons. It's more crabs than cream cheese so that's a plus! And the sauce that comes with it is really good. We didn't try the rice this time, but it didn't look good. We tried three different sushi rolls and I love them! I'm very picky with my sushi, but their sushi was very much on point. Their drinks are really good, too, and their servers are super nice.
google avatar

Tanisha S.

Yelp
Still a great place to eat. Tons of sushi to pick from but they also offer other options if you're not into sushi. I love the modern decor and feel of the restaurant. The staff and so friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Manny C.

Yelp
Walked in expecting the usual overpriced asian style cuisine. Most restaurants within the area serve small portions for inflated price. But the service and prices here were justified in every way. Greeted with kind waiters and a nice table candle, I immediately felt comfortable. The dim lighting and atmosphere made for a great meal. If you aren't a soup or salad lover, please let your waiter know, as these items seem to come included with your service. Great portion and reasonable pricing for the area. Would definitely return!
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
I was in town for a business trip and stopped in this place. The food was excellent, minus the spicy miso seafood soup. In my opinion, it wasn't spicy and didn't take like miso. Also, the fish tasted like fried eggs, it was really weird. On the other hand, the sushi and fried rice was spectacular. The place is decorated nicely with coy fish and bonsai trees. Our water was amazing! I wish I could remember his name. He had black hair.
google avatar

Joanne J.

Yelp
We had a delicious dinner at Zukku-San! They have very fresh and interesting sushi rolls, apps were great, Katzu (sp?) curry chicken amazing! The atmosphere was beautiful, and the music perfect. This place is a hidden gem near the Tampa Premium Outlets (at least hidden from us- never would have noticed it tucked away across the street, but a friend recommended). A special shout out to Alan, our waiter. He knew the menu and the cuisine well, was super friendly and made great recommendations! We will be back soon!
google avatar

Jerry S.

Yelp
Sushi was very good. Tuna was melt in your mouth. I deducted a star for the spicy margarita. I know I know why order a margarita at a sushi restaurant. It was tiny and lacked flavor. Not spicy at all. I would definitely go back just stay away from the margaritas
google avatar

Anthoinette M.

Yelp
Love this place! My favorite sushi spot in this area. Sushi is always fresh and delicious. I usually order the Zukku roll and the vegetable fried rice. The rice comes with nice sized pieces of peppers, onions, zucchini, broccoli not just the basic peas and carrots. Service is always good, manager is friendly and is usually walking around greeting the tables. They provide hot towels at the table, my daughter loves how they do it she calls it a magic trick! At night they dim the lights and music is playing in the background, great ambiance. If you're in the mood for a drink I would recommend the lychee martini, It's on the sweeter side but always good!
google avatar

Luisa J.

Yelp
Came here again last night and sat at the bar. Very friendly service and once again , amazing food. The salmon toro here is so buttery, I love it. Was hoping to see if they had scallops on their menu yet or within a roll and sadly they do not... same with white tuna, but the yellow fin toro weirdly enough looked and almost tasted like white tuna. Cannot wait to come back again.

Yelp
Hubby LOVES sushi. I love the vegetarian options and the miso soup was very good. The Sunday we went was super busy. I enjoy restaurants when they are busy, encourages me in the hopes that it will be a good meal. They didn't disappoint. The service was decent. A bit absent at times, but not terrible. The place has a nice updated decor with lots of hard surfaces throughout which makes the noise levels pretty high when it is full. It was a bit a difficult to hear each other at times. Decent place overall
google avatar

Cheryl A.

Yelp
Unfortunately I have to downscale my original review. Stop bringing the gimmicky towelettes that the server wets in front of you. They add too much water & the excess winds up all over the table. The tempura pieces were HUGE: it's impossible to eat the broccoli (which wasn't cooked through because the pieces were so large). While the asparagus was tasty, it wasn't properly trimmed: the bottom 1/2" was woody, inedible, stem. A lot of "krab stick" or "krab salad" in the sushi rolls. If I order soft-shell crab I shouldn't have to dissect the roll to find the main ingredient. And escolar? It shouldn't even be on the menu because it's well know to cause GI distress. Maybe it's best to stick to this place for lunch.
google avatar

Trisha C.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat. Super kid friendly, I love the magnets, they give them to color with markers. The food is always fast even the sushi and yummy! The service is always friendly and quick. I love the booths they make you feel like you are in your own personal space.
google avatar

Charity A.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place since it opened, and I haven't had a bad experience yet! They have some very unique sushi rolls that never disappoint. The service is always super fast whether it's dine in or take out. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ashlee S.

Yelp
The ambiance here is nice and the prices are fair. I highly suggest not getting the classic sushi I just felt like it was too plain and should've paid more for better quality. The fried rice and the drinks were AMAZING. My friend and I had such a good time together there. I will say it was busy but the waiter took a while to continue coming around. The music was also just a TAD BIT on the louder side but not so loud that I couldn't hear the person in front of me, it could've also been the music plus the chatting of everyone. Overall with the price it was good I just suggest getting the more expensive sushi which is around $14 nothing crazy.

Yelp
It was a memorable lunch experience! It was even more special sharing it with a friend. We were able to share a number of tasty items together. They have quite a few unique and creative specialty rolls. It would have been difficult to choose just one. First of all, the restaurant is so elegantly decorated. I didn't get the lighting aesthetics from the mounted decorative wall fixtures that you would get at night. With that said, the ambiance is still very pleasing in the daytime. The music is a nice selection, and there were many people seated at 1:30pm on a weekday. They have limited private booth seating that was already taken. I was happy to get seating near the sushi bar in the natural light. It's best for picture taking. We decided to order from the dinner menu. They have some great items for lunch, but I was there for the specialty sushi and desserts. We started with the Karaage Chicken and Baked Mussels. I love the way they prepare the mussels. The flavors were amazing! The chicken was very peppery, but not in a spicy way. It could have used a little more salt to balance it out. It was good with the sauce, but I felt like it really needed the sauce. If that makes sense. I think the star of the show for me was actually the sushi rolls. I picked the Spicy Bluefin Tuna Roll, and my friend chose the Butterfly Roll. Both were equally tasty. I loved the addition of black garlic aioli on the Bluefin tuna roll. Everything on that roll blended together so well (including the cilantro). Both rolls had a very good amount of sushi, and the construction and artful presentation made them even better. The smoked salmon in the Butterfly roll had a light smokiness that didn't overpower the other ingredients. It was perfect. There was no cream cheese hiding any of the taste. I was thankful for that. Finally, the desserts were bursting with flavor. The Ube Cheesecake was light and you could definitely taste the purple yam. The Ginger-Yuzu Crème Brûlée had a nice burst of ginger as well as a light citrusy finish. It was creamy, and I loved the hardened candied ginger caramelized topping. All I can say is that you need to be a fan of ginger. Others may not share my love of it. Honestly, I can't wait to go back and try more items. I'm still thinking about all the flavors. Yes, some of the rolls are a little pricey. Especially the Bluefin ones, but it was worth it IMO. It was an early birthday treat to myself. Hey, we have to treat ourselves every now & then. It's therapy for the soul.

Yelp
My cousin and I were thoroughly investigating restaurant reviews in the local area, to decide on our evening meal. Combing through the reviews, we came across a review absolutely ludicrous; we had to analyze further! The review in question referred to excessively sized BROCCOLI!! I turned to my cousin in disbelief that a human being would complain about LARGE portion sizes. After further analysis, both my cousin and I came to the conclusion, that the review in question was indeed correct about over sized portions, BUT was inadequate in explaining how truly delicious the food is at Zukku-san's! We ordered a small sushi palette that includes the choice of three unique masterpiece rolls and four equally delicious classic rolls. We are both in our early twenties soaring above 6 feet in height, yet, we still could not finish the small sushi palette! In disbelief, entering as two HUGRY GIANTS, we both fell deep into a food comma not able to accomplish such a feat of the small sushi palette!

Yelp
While in the area, I was thinking of what is something light and quick to eat for lunch. This sushi grill place was the best decision I made. Walked in around noon on a weekday and they had just opened at 11am. Was able to order some avocados rolls to go. So yummy! Would ups love to come back for dinner as this looks like such a cute trendy modern restaurant with a full menu.

Yelp
Zukku-san Sushi Bar & Grill is located off State Road 54 across from the Premium Outlet Mall in a Plaza next to Crumbl Cookies, Bahama Breeze, Chuys, Pho 54, & Mellow Mushroom in Lutz. Zukku translates in Japanese to a canvas commonly used by artists to create works of art, making the food served considered a work of art! ZUKK-SAN represents an elevated experience & expanded menu from the first Zukku started in a small stall inside Tampa's Armature Works Food Hall. Food: 8/10 Value: 7/10 Service: 4/10 Kitchen Speed: 8/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Romantic: 8/10 Comfort: 7/10 Zukku really shines in its ambiance! Zukku features dim lighting, high ceilings, faint background music, pretty naturally aged reclaimed redwood from the San Francisco, lots of Bonsai trees, and towering hand carved wood patterns of Koi fish swimming against the waves. The restaurant is open with half booth tables against the wall, lots of tables, and plenty of seating at a regular bar and a sushi bar. On a Friday evening, there was a one hour wait for a table so reservations are highly recommended for the weekend evenings! Luckily the long sushi bar offers first come first served seating and we were able to snag seats there without a wait! The Boba Mimosa consisted of a red sparkling brut champagne with popping strawberry, mango, and passion fruit boba pearls. The drink looked really pretty in red and exotic with the boba balls and was sweet. The Boba balls were even sweeter. 7/10 The Spicy Tuna Lover Deluxe Sushi Roll came with spicy tuna, cream cheese, cucumber, Serrano peppers, topped with tuna, wonton chips, sesame seeds, and sweet eel sauce. The wonton chips were not crispy and came out flat but otherwise this roll was good. 7/10 The Dancing Dragon Deluxe Sushi Roll came with spicy Ahi Tuna, tempura shrimp, cucumber, topped with tuna, sweet eel sauce, spicy mayo, sesame seeds, masago, and scallions. This roll was my favorite of the night! 10/10 The Sunset Deluxe Sushi Roll came with avocado, crab mix, cucumber, topped with Ahi Tuna, cilantro, sesame seeds, sweet orange chili sauce. 9/10 Service was not the best. We were served sushi with no plates chopsticks or sauce containers. Luckily the food runner was able to provide that after asking as our server was nowhere to be found. After finishing our meal we waited a good 10 minutes for our server to come with the bill or ask us if we wanted another round of drinks but he didn't come. I ended up getting up from the table, finding the server, and asking him to close out our bill. If you're in the Lutz / Land O Lakes / Wesley Chapel area and craving good sushi in a nice upscale atmosphere and are not in a hurry, definitely try Zukku-san Sushi Bar & Grill!
