Zukku-San Sushi Bar and Grill is arguably one of the most beautiful restaurants, regardless of cuisine, in the Tampa Bay region. Coupled with great food that packs the flavor, Zukku-San Sushi is the perfect restaurant for suited for all occasions from brunch to a late night dinner.
Beginning with its appearance, Zukku-San Sushi has both elegance and charm as you stepped into the restaurant. The color palette of the interior design alongside the moderate patterns was pleasant to the eye showcasing both class and reservation. In the same vein, the minimalistic feel continues on with the tables as you won't find it being cluttered with too many items.
There is a spacious feel despite the number of tables. There is available booth seating as well, however these are few compared to the table seating in the open dining area. I imagine that these are generally reserved for larger parties during peak hours. Similar to other sushi restaurants, there is a small sushi prep area around which counter seating wraps.
We arrived around the 11am on a weekday right before Christmas. As you can imagine, the restaurant had just opened so there was minimal traffic in and out of the venue. From start to finish, we received the appropriate amount of attention and service from the staff which contributed to the genuine private feel to our dining experience.
There is a lot on the menu, but don't be disheartened as it is actually well organized, providing a bit of a guide as you navigate through the various pages of options. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the O-TORO TARTAR (I believe the menu is updated or it is a seasonal item) for the appetizer, with PICASSO and SPICY BLUEFIN TUNA Rolls (you'll find these in the "Masterpiece Sushi Rolls" section) for your main selections.
Honestly, my expectations were set pretty low coming when it came to flavor and quality, so to say that I was "WOWed" by Zukku-San is an understatement - I was blown out of the water. I was happily surprised and amazed at the food here at Zukku-San. Beginning with the O-Toro Tartar, the appetizer was perfectly plated as if you were eating at a Michelin-star restaurant. The flavor was rich and decadent in all the right ways. Each bite delivered an amazing performance which is complimented by the clashing textures of the tartar along with the crunch of the thins. The rolls were no different - the rolls were neatly and beautifully made. The flavors here were also on point.
Needless to say, I am so glad that I found Zukku-San. Located across 54/56 from the Outlets, Zukku-San is a great restaurant to go to if you're in the area. Even if you're not in the area, it is definitely worth going to if you want to enjoy a great meal.
10/10 recommend if you want to impress a date, spouse, or coworkers for a work lunch!
