We called in advance to make sure there’s a table available, but if the weather is good you can also sit outside. They were extremely kind, upon entry they gave our dog some treats, I thought this was very thoughtful of them.😊 the food was very tasty as well, we had the garlic cream soup, and for dessert we had the chocolate soufflé, and tried one of the most typical Austrian dessert, the kaiserschmarren. This was one of the bests I’ve ever tried. Highly recommend having dinner here, the whole place had such a great vibe. If we return to Salzburg we will definitely come back.🥰

What a fantastic restaurant! The soup was incredibly delicious—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The schnitzel was huge, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. On top of the amazing food, the staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and genuinely happy, which made the whole experience even better. You can really feel the positive atmosphere here. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Our server Nikola was so friendly, it definitely made a change from what we’re used to in London pubs 😂 He made my sister’s birthday dinner feel really special, and was really informative about the menu! ❤️ Speaking of the food - these were easily the best main courses we’ve had in Salzburg. The Kaspressknödel with beef soup was a highlight, but the pork schnitzel and beef goulash were also amazing. They offer lots of recipes that my Austrian friend told us to try while we were here, so it feels like a good place to go if you want to eat local delicacies.

The restaurant is very popular and a perfect place to stop for a meal after visiting the castle. It fills up quickly, so reservations are recommended. We ordered the local schnitzel, which was enormous—bigger than my face! It wasn’t heavily seasoned, so we added some salt and pepper ourselves, and the sweet-and-tart berry sauce on the side made it flavorful without being greasy. The potatoes on the side were also delicious, making it a very memorable dish. The apple strudel with whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream was absolutely amazing — the warm strudel was filled with fragrant apple chunks, and its sweet-and-sour flavor paired perfectly with the whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream. I still miss that taste even now! The vanilla ice-cream was so good that I almost asked the staff what brand it was 🤣. The staff were friendly and welcoming, spoke fluent English, and the beer they recommended was excellent too!

An absolutely lovely restaurant for delicious alpine food prepared the alpine way. The wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions. Easily the BEST alpine/Bavarian food. Do not miss this place. We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table but it was more than worth it!

Very old restaurant (since 1863!) in the historic center of Salzburg. The setting is really nice, you really feel like you're eating in an very old place (the building is far older than the restaurant I guess). The hardest part is getting a table! I advise you to make a reservation, but it's also nice to share a table with other tourists! The food is typically Austrian, which is cool. On the menu, Liver dumplings with sauerkraut are presented as Mozart's favorite dish, and I must say, it was surprisingly good! With a good glass of Riesling, it was fantastic!

We visited Zum Zirkelwirt for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Although our reservation was for 5.30 pm, we arrived slightly earlier and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away as a table was available. We ordered the pulled pork style house burger with fries, the Salzburg bratwurst, and a pint of beer. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, the food was served promptly. Both dishes were delicious, well prepared, and very satisfying. We left feeling full and happy with the meal. It is definitely a place we would return to if we are in the area again, especially to try more items on the menu.

Booked a table ahead of time online. My whole group loved this restaurant. We shared 2 orders of the pork schnitzel and one order of the kasnocken between us which ended up being plenty of food! Absolutely the best food we’ve had on our vacation so far. Highly recommend this restaurant!
