The restaurant is very popular and a perfect place to stop for a meal after visiting the castle. It fills up quickly, so reservations are recommended. We ordered the local schnitzel, which was enormous—bigger than my face! It wasn’t heavily seasoned, so we added some salt and pepper ourselves, and the sweet-and-tart berry sauce on the side made it flavorful without being greasy. The potatoes on the side were also delicious, making it a very memorable dish.
The apple strudel with whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream was absolutely amazing — the warm strudel was filled with fragrant apple chunks, and its sweet-and-sour flavor paired perfectly with the whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream. I still miss that taste even now! The vanilla ice-cream was so good that I almost asked the staff what brand it was 🤣.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, spoke fluent English, and the beer they recommended was excellent too!
