"Zumbro Cafe, Linden Hills. Zumbro’s website says they’re legendary and what’s great, is that they actually are. Well lit, family friendly, cheery and always busy. It’s the kind of place where you show up at work on Monday, mention having brunch there over the weekend and everyone’s like “Oooh did you have the pancakes or eggs benny?” It’s just a known thing. It’s that good. Speaking of pancakes or eggs, both are solid options. Though my personal favorite that keeps me coming back is the rhubarb french toast. Now that is something to write home about."

Servers were so attentive and relaxed, i loved the tiny details put into the decor here. We ate inside but next time we’ll definitely check out the patio. The wait wasn’t too long to get our food, we ordered fruit, the Belgian waffle, French toast, bacon, sausage, hot oat milk latte and some apple and orange juice. Overall the food was pretty solid, the cherry and strawberry compote on the French toast wasn’t overpoweringly sweet. I liked the fluffy whip cream but there was a lot of it. The bitter espresso from the latte paired well with the subtle sweetness of the French toast. I wasn’t crazy about the fruit or about the fact that there is only street parking available. Just a bunch of hardworking kind people who elevate the space into a welcoming environment and lovely experience. Definitely stop in when you can!

Really, really good food. Cute, comfortable ambience. A bit crowded. Great staff. Best Eggs Benedict my mom ever had, and that's all she ever gets for breakfast when we go out to eat. Phenomenal, unique French toast. I had the egg and steak sandwich and it was properly yummy. We live in East side St Paul, and we would drive back for the food.

Hard to beat the Zumbro Cafe in the always-charming Linden Hills neighborhood of SW Minneapolis. Great food and friendly staff at this super cozy bistro. The eggs benedict and Zumbro fratatta, with superbly brewed coffee and orange juice, really hit the spot on this beautiful autumn Saturday. Thank, Zumbro. Check it out! 🍁

One of our favorite brunch places in Mpls close to home. I had their version of the classic Benedict and my husband had the special with pulled pork. Both were well made, eggs perfectly poached and overall delicious.

Excellent service and friendly staff, homey, pleasant atmosphere with honey-colored wood interiors, and a solid menu. The goat cheese and spinach frittata was delicious, along with the mint green tea. Tables are slightly cramped inside and there was a bit of a wait this Thurs/day after Christmas, but it was well worth it for the warm breakfast bite.

Google
I had the bacon and cheddar frittata and it was delicious. Big pieces of bacon and lotsa cheese. Fast friendly service and all for about $20. I'll definitely be going back!!!

Great food, decent prices, good service. We sat outside in the screened in porch and it was shady and breezy and perfect.

Amazing! Let me start off this review by saying this: If you are reading this review while walking by: STOP! If you are standing outside, and wondering if it is worth the wait: WAIT! Hands down, one of the best breakfast places in the Twin Cities. Always friendly service, Always great food. The Eggs Benedict is one of their signature dishes, and you will quickly find out why. Prefect tasting hollandaise, poached eggs, asparagus spears, paired with fresh roasted potatoes, this dish will keep you coming back weekly! On the weekends, there will almost always be a wait, but take this advice, relax, wait for an available table. This is the type of place you don't mind waiting to get a seat. Zumbro is the perfect weekend brunch stop, and it's always lively, filled with nosie, people, and fresh ingredients.

Yelp
It was pretty quick to get a seat here for Sunday brunch, which I definitely can appreciate. This was my first time at The Zumbro and was pleased with the food that my friend and I ordered. We shared a Belgian Waffle (which was pretty dang good) and came with berries and fresh whipped cream. We each also ordered our own meals, I had the Huevos Zumbrosos (3 egg scramble on corn tortillas with avocado, beans, pico de gallo, queso fresco, crema) and my friend ordered the Bacon & Avocado Toast. We both liked our meals, but not sure I would order the Huevos Zumbrosos again, it was flavorful but pretty elementary at the same time. I do want to try their Eggs Benedict at some point. I liked how diverse the menu was, lots of yummy options to try. Also cute lake cabin decor inside. Would come back!

Yelp
Yum!! With the nice weather, we sat on the patio at Zumbro and it was great. I would highly recommend their Arnie Palmer with their homemade lemonade which was super refreshing. I also split a chicken pesto sandwich which was simple yet flavorful and their chicken Caesar salad, both of which I would order again! They offered to split these meals for us and put them on different plates which I thought was nice, but later learned that they actually charge $2.50 per plate to split it. Wish I would've been told this beforehand because then I would've just split things on my own.

Yelp
Cute little spot in LInden Hills. Friendly staff! Street parking. My husband ordered the Huevos Zumbrosos. He loved it. I thought it was tasty! I ordered the bacon and avocado toast. It was delicious!!! It came with some potatoes that were bland though. They tasted like boiled red potatoes. I would request something else next time. The house coffee is delicious. There's inside seating and a cute patio for nice days.

Yelp
We were looking for a local, small place to eat breakfast and found The Zumbro. We had the soup and pork breakfast sandwich and a chai tea. All very good and highly recommend to visit, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Seated right away on a Saturday, server was attentive. The brunch was excellent for all 3 orders and plated nicely. Also a great price point for portion and quality. Food to table was a little slow but considering quality, NBD. Located in cute downtown of Linden so great to window shop after. Definitely worth the drive and braving the snowfall! Will go again!

Yelp
Came here for brunch to catch up with a friend, and it didn't disappoint! Such a cute and cozy cafe. There was a wait when we got in, but they turned tables pretty quickly. For food I ordered a chicken pesto benny (it was a special) - so delicious! Instead of english muffins they use a thick piece of toast and for a side you get breakfast potatos. You can tell the food was fresh and of good quality! I'd highly recommend this place for breakfast. Instead of vodka in their bloody mary they use sake. It was good and they use a house made spicy mix!

Yelp
Walked down here for brunch on a Sunday morning. Luckily, we beat the brunch rush and were seated right away. They offer fresh squeezed orange juice in small and large glasses. I would recommend ordering the large because the small only gives you 5 sips of juice. I decided to go with the Eggs Benedict. I loved the sauce and the toasted striato bread. Eggs were cooked well and the plate itself was presented beautifully. My friend ordered the frittata. He really enjoyed it but I thought it was a bit boring. The bacon that came with it was really good and I would've just opted for a side of bacon instead! The menu is a little more pricey because of the location with it being in Linden Hills. But it is a nice place to visit if you're by Lake Harriet. Street parking available.

Yelp
I like to give small local businesses the benefit of the doubt, but after eating here a few times I've decided that it's convenient location isn't worth it given the quality of the food and the terrible service. The food is ok but doesn't wow me in any way. It usually tastes like something that you could make yourself at home pretty easily. Today when we stopped in (very few casual dining options in Linden Hills) we had especially terrible service. The waiter seemed very indifferent and didn't say much from the start. When we ordered he kept repeating the order incorrectly. We had to ask for water even though all our glasses were empty for 15+ minutes. We ordered a stack of 2 pancakes ($12 on the menu) and when we asked if we could get one buttermilk and one cornmeal the waiter said it was fine. When the bill came we were charged $8.95 per pancake! I wish the waiter would have said he was going to charge us individually for each pancake. The $8.95 per pancake isn't even an option on the menu - it's actually a price point taken from the kids menu. We thought $18 for 2 pancakes was expensive but paid the bill. It wasn't until I took another look at the menu at home that I realized what the waiter did. If you're looking for somewhere convenient and cute to eat but don't care about service or an amazing meal, this is a good spot.

Yelp
We wandered into Zumbro on a Saturday morning. It's cozy inside, but they were able to seat us right away without a reservation. The frittata with bacon and Gouda was delicious without being excessive. The chicken wild rice hash was an interesting combination but I must admit it was incredible. The creamy rosemary gravy was addicting. Definitely stop by the next time you're looking for a place for brunch.

Yelp
This place is quaint and cozy, usually packed with tons of people and delicious food. My favorite meal is the heuvos rancheros, I just switch out the tortilla for sourdough toast and it's amazing. My fiancé usually orders the eggs benedict, a classic delicious meal with asparagus on top. Their food is mostly organic so their prices are a bit more expensive, but worth it. Bring your coat inside if you're planning on eating here in the winter. The entrance area gets a bit chilly with people coming in and out. I recommend ordering a hot coffee to keep cozy!

Yelp
My friends and I really enjoyed Zumbro. Everything tasted fresh and most were homemade. It has a nice warm feel to it and it's in a quieter neighborhood of MPLS. I would come back if I was in the area.

Yelp
Zumbro is fab! I've had the bacon and Gouda frittata (which is more of a omelet frittata combo) and the eggs benedict. Both are really great! The eggs Benedict comes on a thick piece of crusty bread rather than an English muffin. It's a bit tough to cut at first but once it soaks up the hollandaise it's really really good. It's a smaller place so after 8:30am on the weekend there is usually a wait. They don't accept reservations. One downside is that it's a bit more expensive than a typical MN breakfast place but it's worth it!

Yelp
Nice and charming place and beautiful Linden hills neighborhood. Place was busy but they found a table for 5 pretty quickly. They had a few tables set up for outdoor seating and we were lucky to get one of those. Server was nice and efficient, food is normal breakfast fare and tasted good.
google avatar

Yelp
Veggie Bennie here is breakfast nirvana. Loved the flavors in every bite! Comes on the best toasted, chewy bread a million times better than an English muffin. Then there is a layer of sauteed spinach with warm tomato slices. Finally topped with perfectly poached eggs with such a creamy, flavorful hollandaise sauce. It came with roasted baby potatoes and asparagus. Wish I could have this every day for breakfast. So satisfying and perfectly sized. I ate every bite on my plate. Mmmmmm.

Yelp
There are so many good brunch places in Linden Hills and this one is a top contender. Despite how crowded it seemed we got a table in about 10 minutes after putting our name in. They track tables old school style on a piece of paper so you can't venture too far around the neighborhood or you might miss your name. The tables arrangements are fairly tiny so I would not recommend coming here with a group larger than 4 people. I ordered the spinach, mushroom, goat cheese frittata and ate every bite. The portabella mushrooms were so fresh and flavorful. The creamy goat cheese was equally delectable which made the whole dish melt in my mouth. I prefer my breakfast potatoes on the crispy side and these were lacking the crunch. I am a lover of all carbs but I especially liked the multigrain bread because it was more than just a piece of toast. High quality grains and a few oats on top, yum!! It was topped with melted butter and a side of raspberry jam which will make me a happy camper any day. A table next to us ordered the pancakes that were the size of an entire large plate and perfectly golden brown, totally need to come back for these. Since it is busy on the weekends the wait service is so-so or maybe I'm unusually impatient. They do have plenty of staff bussing tables and cleaning up so they can turn tables quickly.

Steve P.

Yelp
Terrible, TERRIBLE service!! Took 15 mins to take our order. Another 30 to get our breakfast. The waiter was clueless as to what should come with pancakes. Like syrup? Butter? Had to ask for both, took 5 mins more to get that. Same for milk and brown suger with oatmeal? Nope. Butter for our cold toast. Frittata was cold and rubbery. The kitchen did not have enough soup for for a bowl. So had to wait an additional 10 mins just to get a bowl of soup. But wait there is more. When my soup did arrive, it was cooler than warm. Very dissapointting meal, topped off with horriffic service. I had to go up to pay my bill as we were tired of waiting for that to come. Will not return... EVER! Don't recommend.

Yelp
The twitter summary: Cozy little place with great staff and pretty good food - parking can be a pain. This is a pretty small place and they certainly use all the space - yet although all the tables were full when I was there it didn't have a crowded feel. The light airy atmosphere and the friendly nature of the staff probably had a lot to do with that. I was in serious need for a great eggs benny (yes, I have a problem) and the reviews for Zumbro's version looked promising so I braved the lack of parking to join the late breakfast crowd and see what this place was all about. The service is amazing, cheerful, efficient, attentive...perfect. My only problem was that right after I ordered I saw a plate of blueberry pancakes go by...wow - did those look good! But I needed to feed the eggs benny addiction so it wouldn't have mattered I guess. Their Eggs Benedict are a little different. First, it's served a piece of toasted striato (french bread). Instead of thin sliced ham or Canadian bacon they make theirs with a slab of grilled ham and then slather it with an amazing house-made hollandaise. I can see where this might appeal to some but it just didn't do it for me. It wasn't a great slice of ham and the bread was a little tough. The eggs, however, were perfectly cooked and the hallandaise, as I mentioned, was outstanding. It was a good dish - just not great. The potatoes were also very good. I did order a cornmeal pancake with pure maple syrup since the reviews also raved about them and yes, it was very good. Next time I'm in the area I'll certainly try to swing in and try out those blueberry cakes because they looked great and because I truly loved the atmosphere here.

Yelp
So good!!! French toast is my go-to breakfast food. The French toast at Zumbro Cafe is phenomenal. The quality of service and quality of food was amazing. I know there are many restaurants in the Linden Hills neighborhood competing for your business and this one is not to be missed.

Yelp
Was here for Breakfast today . Had the Hueveros and the Black bean burger. The ambience and coffee is really nice. The owners are really friendly and great to talk to

Yelp
My adult daughter and have been coming to Zumbro's for lunch every Wednesday for over 20 years. Everything good -no complaints ever - and I am a complainy type - and she is a vegan . Staff, food-all excellent. So glad we found them when visiting Wild Rumpus bookstore MaryAnn Dean

Yelp
Wonderful. Keeping this short and sweet, I loved pretty much everything about Zumbro Cafe; the decor, the ambiance, the employees, the service, the food, and, most importantly, the CAPPUCCINO. Most beautifully, perfectly made cappuccino I have experienced in a long time. It is normally so hard to get that kind of foam with skim milk and it was done so well. I will return over and over for another. If you are considering, please stop by and get one. Also get the cornmeal pancakes with walnuts (right in the mix) and their veggie frittata. You will be very pleased that you did.

Yelp
I love Zumbro Cafe as much as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's hilarious monologue from last night's Golden Globes. Sure, there were some jokes that weren't funny (like the one about Martin Scorsese), but overall there were so many awesome highlights that the few misses weren't really all that bad. *Shout-out to Barkhad Abdi, the Somali-American that was a former DJ and limo driver in Minnesota! If you're reading this Barkhad, it's so awesome that Tina Fey hit on you. haha. After reading all the Yelp reviews about the long wait, my boo and I decided to avoid the lunch rush and visit around 1 pm. At first, I was taken aback by the beautiful light wood interior that, I imagine, resembles something like the inside of Laura Ingalls Wilder's crib or the Boxcar Children's, uh, boxcars. Very impressive! I also loved the large windows that allow the sun to infuse the room with light. (No happy lamp needed, ya'll.) Lots of light in a restaurant is rare, and it's wonderful to have during the miserable Minnesota winter. Our friendly host quickly seated us in the back. (Still sunny back there, btw.) My only regret about visiting Zumbro was forgetting the name of our server. It seemed like her smile took up half of her face while speaking to us, and she patiently and bluntly answered all of our questions about the menu. "Try this dish. Super good." "Hmm, that one is ok. Not enough food." I appreciated her honesty, unlike some servers that have tried to sell the most expensive items to me on the menu to make a buck. While this mystery server's name shall go unknown forever, it's more appropriate to talk about Zumbro's delectable lunch menu in this review. My boo and I both shared (and devoured) an order of the chicken wild rice hash and eggs Benedict. I sipped on the house coffee. -Chicken Wild Rice Hash with fresh vegetables in a rosemary cream gravy I loved the tender chicken, perfectly cooked wild rice, and the subtle hint of rosemary in the gravy. The entree wasn't mind-blowing, and it didn't have to be. Sometimes it's nice to enjoy something more rustic and hearty, without it being too heavy. The thing that was just "ehh" were the vegetables, since it was a handful of chervil, arugula, and other leafy lettuces found in a spring mix. That's great, but something else could have been included to make it a bit more harmonious with the rest of the dish. -Eggs Benedict on toasted striato with grilled ham, house-made hollandaise Perhaps the highlight of meal, I really loved Zumbro's take on this classic. While the toasted piece of bread was a bit thick for my taste, it complimented the grilled ham and poached egg excellently. Also, I think the house-made hollandaise really took this dish to another level. ***Wipes drool off mouth.*** -House Coffee Man-o-man... I did not expect to have such a great cup of coffee. Their blend is quite tasty. Slightly strong, very hot, little acidity, and nutmeg-y. Yesss, Zumbro, where can I buy some? Awesome space, wonderful service, palatable food - Zumbro, I shall return.

Yelp
I've recently been searching for the best places for brunch in the Twin Cities, and one of my most recent discoveries was Zumbro Cafe: The space is pretty tiny, but we had no problem finding a spot in the parking lot or a table for 2 for Sunday morning brunch. My Zumbro experience began with a giant vanilla latte with honey (aka a miel) made from Bull Run espresso--the perfect start to a chilly Winter day. I was considering one of the frittata specials when I spotted the Chicken Wild Rice Hash on the menu--so I asked our server, Aimee, for her recommendation. She had me at "sweet cream" when she encouraged me to go with the hash--and she totally steered me in the right direction...well, to be fair I haven't tried a frittata, but I don't think it could get much better than the hash, with it's tender cuts of chicken, large chunks of baby red potatoes, barely crisp bits of carrot, long grain wild rice and a sweet cream sauce that is pure genius! It's seriously delicious!! I got to sample my friends cornmeal pancakes, and they were pretty awesome as well...everything on the menu can't be that good, can it? The service was an A+ (Thanks Aimee!), the food was spectacular, and the spot was cute and cozy...so if you're looking for someplace quiet to plant your bum and enjoy some seriously delicious brunch, set your GPS for Zumbro Cafe!

Yelp
Three different types (Cornmeal, Buckwheat, Buttermilk) of Pancakes and cups of Coffee the size of your face. When you're running on four hours of sleep, this is the perfect place to re-charge for the rest of the weekend! I came here with six family members and one three-year-old in tow, and we only had to wait 15 minutes before being seated on a Saturday morning. Pretty good for such a small, popular neighborhood restaurant. The service here is unfailingly friendly, but they don't always repeat the daily specials, so make sure to check out the mirror near the doorway for the Frittata and/or Quiche of the day. I'm a big fan of the Cornmeal Pancakes with Blueberries ($7), the Chicken Wild Rice Hash (how much more Minnesotan can you get for $8.95?), and the Fruit Cup ($3.95) is better than the usual suspects (out, out damn honeydew!). Zumbro concentrates their efforts on classic American brunch dishes made with fresh, unconventional touches. Since the prices are so low, make certain you order real Maple Syrup with your cakes ($0.75). Go on. Splurge. Indulge. Make it hail. You deserve it.

Steve Y.

Yelp
My s.o. and I came here for breakfast one morning while visiting the city and opted to share 1 cornmeal pancake and 1 buckwheat pancake, along with a pork sausage patty. All the food was excellent and the almond lattes were delicious as well! We were actually taken aback at how good the pork sausage was, as sausage can sometimes be a weak link at breakfast restaurants. We will definitely come back when in MSP!

Yelp
When I can find this place without getting lost, I will be a really big fan! After getting lost and making my poor friend wait we finally arrived to a crowded restaurant. Awkward lay out and really crammed, but we didn't have to wait too long. The wait was worth it. I had the regular eggs benedict. Quite possible in the running for the best I've had. Perfect tasting hollendaise, two nice asparagus spears and nicely done red potatoes. The bread -toasted striato (from New French) good lord it was good. My friend ordered the eggs etc. I think the bacon was a tad dry, but otherwsie she liked it. Great breakfast place with some of the best benedict.

Yelp
In my never ending quest to find amazing pancakes, my journey took me to Zumbro Cafe to try their cornmeal pancakes. The place is over in the Linden Hills area, which for me was a bit of a pain to get to thanks to construction around and on 100, but, anything for pancakes! Their parking lot is under construction, so expect to park on the street or in the hardware store's parking lot (if you get their really early, the risk of getting towed is minimal). Very, very cozy place to stroll into. Welcomed as soon as I walked in and seen the specials right away on the board - quite literally as I walked in, their on the wall right in front of you. Chose to take up residence on the patio because Saturday morning was beautiful. Then opt for a cup of house coffee, a bacon-gouda frittata and those cornmeal cakes. Very short wait, and my coffee cup was never empty before it was getting refilled. Food arrives, and it looks amazing (see picture). Dig in! The frittata... smoked bacon and gouda, if there is a symphony of flavors that would be blessed by the gods, it's bacon and gouda. Throw those together with light, fluffy eggs and we've got a recipe for delicious. Very copious amount of bacon meant no bite was devoid of my tasty pig, and the cheese was perfectly melted throughout to give each bite that amazing flavor. I thought about using hot sauce on this, then the little angel guy on my shoulder told me I'd better not, this is a divine creation not to be F'ed with. Throw a scoop on the multigrain toast that comes with the meal, perfection through and through. To compliment the fittata you're given these house roasted potatoes. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly drizzled in olive oil and the perfect compliment to that frittata. In all honesty, the potats are enough for the trip alone, they're that good. Drum roll.... pancake time! Truth be told, I had no clue what to expect with a cornmeal pancake. Would it be grainy, gritty, corny, need syrup, fall apart? The best way I can describe it, is a take a corn muffin, flatten it out, and mix in some maple syrup. Which, let me tell you, tastes a-freaking-mazing. Texture was a bit gritty like a muffin, but not over powering at all. It does require a topping, syrup or in my case I also opted for the house strawberry preserve (didn't need it for the toast, so went to the pancake). Either way, syrup or preserve, this pancake was incredible. The soakability (that's a great made up word) of the syrup was on point and made each bite a bliss of maple-corn muffin joy. I couldn't have been anymore happy or satisfied with my visit here. Great service, great staff, great food and a great setting. Get here early on the weekends, it's small and it will fill up fast.

Yelp
This was an awesome breakfast. I got the daily fritatta and I'm amazed how they got such simple ingredients to taste *so* not simple. Coffee was good and the roasted potatoes were good as well. They don't take reservations, typically, but we had a group of 14 and they opened up their other side and then used the leftover table for overflow for other customers. The server really was amazing. She fed a party of 14 plus 3 other couples and kept my coffee full. I don't know how other people like their food, but I'm definitely going back.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. I have been going here for years. Totally recommend if you want to try something different. My favorite dishes are the Eggs Benedict and the French Toast. If you are trying to be healthy, get the Eggs & Greens. My only notes are space and hours. This place has gotten so popular over the years that they need to expand. They bought the building next door, but they are slowly getting it set. And their hours could be a little bit longer. Parking is a little tricky, especially on the weekends, but if its a nice day, walking a few minutes is not a big deal.

Yelp
Together with many, many others, our power was out last Saturday morning. My daughter and I went searching for a breakfast place. After driving around and finding many places closed, I remembered the Zumbro Cafe. My wife and I had enjoyed lunch there several years ago. Bingo! It was open for business with a mere ~10-15 minute wait. We sat outside watching a parade of Linden Hillers out walking dogs and toting babies until our table was called. You can leave your cell phone number if you want to stroll around while waiting. The Zumbro is a brightly lit, clean, unclutterd if not a bit tightly spaced place. We were given a pleasant window table for two with just enough elbow room. I can see how if differently seated it may have felt a bit constrained. My vegetarian daughter had the tofu scramble which she found delicious. It was chock-a-block with veggies and fresh herbs. I had the buckwheat-wild rice cakes ($6.50) to which I added blueberries (+$0.50), real maple syrup (+$0.75) and a side of bacon ($3.00). Fantastic! Coffee was well brewed and promptly refilled by our very cordial server. All-in-all another solid choice for breakfast or lunch in SW Mpls, an area brimming with worthy alternatives.

Yelp
I heart this adorable, family owned cafe! Zumbro is the perfect weekend brunch spot, and it's always lively, filled with noise, people, and fresh ingredients. When in doubt (& a little less hungry), I go for my favorite. That being their Zumbrola--homemade granola, nuts, fruit, and yogurt. I am also a fan of their buttermilk pancakes, and those scrumptious fritattas, accompanied with roasted potatoes. It's a great place to bring kids as well, as I spotted an adorable pancake in the shape of a teddybear on the plate of a youngster seated next to me. Let's not forget about their coffee, as the latte and cappuccino I got to try on my most recent adventure were done to perfection. Additionally, Zumbro uses their own special blend of Bull Run coffee, which is pretty awesome if you ask me.

Yelp
Really really good. I had looked at the menu ahead of time so I had a good idea of what I wanted but sometimes I get a little crazy at the last minute and change my mind. However, when I looked at the menu, it was slightly different and I didn't see what I wanted (eggs and greens). On the online menu it's listed all day but in person it wasn't. However, she said they would make it for me. The food was delicious. Simple and fresh and very good. Poached eggs on greens with sauteed chicken and peppers and onions, with toast. I also got a side of pb. Service was good, she was very friendly and accomodating. Everything that everyone else had looked delicious and fresh too. Cute little joint in the Linden Hills area. Definitely worth coming back to.

Yelp
Sometimes I have a hard time rating restaurants. This place was good, but not as good as their competition across the street (Tilia's) I'm giving them a 3 star because they are good, but not great. All of the dishes I tasted was heavy handed on the salt. I had their special Benedict of the day (Pork belly). Truthfully, I didn't listen to much after pork belly, but when it arrived it was served on a french baguette, it threw me for a loop because I was expecting English muffins. The downfall was not the choice of carbs, but the over poached eggs. I cut into the yolk and they were not leaky or gooey at all #frownface. The potatoes were good and the hollandaise sauce was not too thick like gravy, so that was good, but my favorite part was ruined for me. Wife ordered the tofu scramble, it arrived a bit soupy. The flavors would have been great, paired with goat cheese, but it was heavy on the salt. I'm comparing this to French Meadow's tofu scramble with really resembled eggs and the flavor was balanced. Almost forgot about the corn meal pancake. This was the best thing I had. I ordered the half order which was one gigantic cake. I would say this is one of my favorite pancakes in MN. Worth the trip if I only ordered that. Final Word: I will go back, if only for the pancake, to see if it was a fluke. If the results are the same, I'll be going to Tilia's is right across the street (with booze!)

Yelp
Took my friend here for her birthday breakfast and we were both disappointed. I had the chicken hash and she had the veggie benny. The good news is the staff is great, the multigrain bread was great, the jam was great and the potatoes were wonderful. Coffee is great too. The MEH was: if you stack a Benedict with bread, veggies, egg and then sauce-the sauce never soaks into the bread thru the veggies (esp Arugula uncut up) and this bread is rustic with a great crust and it never softens. Serve your sauce on the side! AND serve more of it..it also needed lemon in it. Serve a grindable salt(Himalayan pink/Kosher) and grantable pepper at the tables not shakers of reg table salt and pepper. ish Chicken hash-the menu states GRAVY and it comes in a runny broth. It looked like someone threw some rice on my plate, added some chopped up roasted veggie and took a chicken breast, poached it, cut it up, and dumped it on top and added that 'runny soup'. Way too much chicken in proportion to the veggies and rice. If you mashed up the potatoes in the sauce, it worked but it is no gravy and it was not a hash. Better places to eat than this and they do not even have a muffin or sweet roll in the place.

Yelp
I love this place for a good, hearty brunch. The food is simple and delicious( eggs Benedict is always my go-to) and it is one of the most cozy places to eat on a rainy day. It is a little small--lunch time can be a little tight, and the food takes a little longer than usual. But it is a good place for if you want to get a good solid brunch/ lunch!

Yelp
Awesome spot! They specialize in the Benny and it is always well done. Great potatoes for breakfast and the pastry of the day keeps it simple. My wife and I shared a cherry rhubarb muffin last time we were there. Delicious!

Yelp
My husband and I went here for brunch and we both really enjoyed our meals. He got the steak and egg sandwich and I got the spinach and mushroom frittata. The homemade jam is very good!

Yelp
I loved the ambiance here, especially the outdoor patio! The food was okay. I had the Belgian waffles. The sweet whipped cream it comes with is divine. Don't even need syrup! However the waffle itself wasn't very crisp or particularly memorable. My boyfriend had the french toast with rhubarb syrup. You get a hefty amount of toast and the rhubarb adds a unique and very tart flavor.

Yelp
Simple and tasty food in a homey environment! I have been going to Zumbro for brunch about once a month for 5 years- it's my favorite brunch in Minneapolis! I usually go for the Waffle topped with fruit and whipped cream, a side of bacon, and coffee. All fantastic. The bacon is especially good! My husband usually gets the eggs etc. which has 2 eggs, roasted potatoes, choice of meat, and toast. A classic breakfast done well.

Yelp
Underwhelmed, was told 30 minutes and ended up being a hour. Food was overpriced for the quality. Very basic across the board and no one in our group was impressed. There are so many better breakfast spots like the Kenwood that are worth the cost. I wont be trying again for a while.

Yelp
Excellent food, great atmosphere, warm and friendly service. Can't go wrong with the french toast or the pancakes .... Get there early long line ups on the weekend. Funky neighborhood.

Yelp
Adorable little cafe! Great ambiance and the food was amazing. I had the eggs Benedict- and my fiancé had eggs + bacon with some of their toast with homemade blackberry jam and I ended up eating most of the toast w/ jam because it was so delicious. Great spot! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Well apparently or hopefully I came to Zumbro on an off day?! longest waitintheworldwhenyou'rehungry+ mediocre at best food + slow service = cranky Amy. We came on a Sunday, line out the door kind of day. Fine, I'll take it slow today, this place is supposed to be good. We were quoted 40 minutes. 75 minutes later we were sat. It was too crowded and the tables were close. I had the huevos zumbros to wake up my senses. boring and unflavored. Hubby had the same reaction to his eggs Benedict. We felt rushed. Won't be back :(

Yelp
breakfast was all right, place is very tight, tables are very small, good luck trying to use the restroom, nothing especial, the waitress was in a hurry to take our order and not friendly at all, place was a bit hard to find even using google maps, and it takes a while into they bring your order, dont think i am coming back again so, 2 stars..

Yelp
I have been here several times for brunch. It's one of my favorites and here's why: Good location with parking in Linden Hills. Packed with people, seated or waiting to get a table. Excellent breakfast choices for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Coffee the way it should be - warm and potent. Warm welcome and friendly service. Well-priced. Does Great Harvest know that a lot of people stroll in to get their sample while waiting for a table at Zumbro's? Especially handy when you're really hungry and cannot bear to watch other people savoring their food. while you wish they'd hurry up and vacate that table for you.
