Zunfthaus zu Metzgern

Right in the center of Thun, can see the castle and around end of November there's a big Christmas tree nearby (right in front of the building) Went here for a family dinner, we were glad we came early (we already reserviert), but later at night it was full and very very loud, it was hard to hold a conversation. Food was good 👍🏻 Portion is big, prices are average. I had rösti because it's my fav Swiss dish, but it was a little bit too salty (maybe from the bacon). But all the other family members had a pleasant dinner! So it was just the rösti or my tongue.

This restaurant was a hidden gem in the heart of Thun and a highlight of our trip. The meals were prepared with ingredients of incredibly high quality making for a phenomenal experience. The service was out of this world as well, being some of the best in Switzerland. A special mention to Kreshnik, our waiter, who was patient and extremely kind.

The food was great, the waiters are very rude. Usually in Switzerland I have been treated well… I wouldn’t go again because of the treatment of the personnel, I can find great food with a good customer service in many other places The ratings are high maybe because a lot of people are rating the hotel only.

Super central, I was not sure what to get. Switzerland is pricey enough. Went for a calzone and it was the best I have ever had. Enjoyed the food and wine.

We had a lunch which resulted in an awful experience. We waited 30 minutes for our food and the cordonbleu arrived completely burned. The very low quality meat was accompanied by old dry vegetables and extremely salty fries. I complained and could not eat my dish. Any other restaurant would not have charged the dish. THEY MADE ME PAY the full price for a dish that was not eatable. Don’t choose this place, you will waste your money and your good mood.

Unbeatable and quiet yet central location, really cute rooms. You fall asleep easily with the sound of the fountain on the nearby square when you leave your windows open. Don't worry about the shared bathrooms as they were always clean and smelled good. Highly recommended.
