This restaurant is known for their pancakes and this seafood pancake was delicious, full of squid and other seafood, as well as scallions. It’s also cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The spicy beef soup was good with lots of beef and vegetables. I thought the flavor was less intense than some of the others I have had. Restaurant was clean and well kept, and there is a button to fall for service. My only suggestion would be to use filtered water or serve Korean tea.

Google
This is such a great place to get seafood green onion pancakes! It was so crispy and flavorful. It was definitely the star of our meal. Sauce is as well provided for you to dip the pancake in, but in my opinion, it was scrumptious without it. Service was great and the staff is so friendly here. We were served by a nice lady who gave us a jug of water and our utensils to start with. She also cut our seafood pancake for us, which was very nice of her to do. I ordered the seafood tofu soup and my husband ordered the spicy beef soup. All of it was delicious and the broth was not overwhelmingly salty or sweet in either soup. Also a plus about this restaurant is how clean the bathrooms are. My husband said it’s like a five star hotel bathroom. Overall, it’s a must-try! We will absolutely be back to try the other items on the menu and for the various pancakes served here! 맛있어요!

Recently dined here and it was soooooo good! Definitely get the pancake extra crispy and tofu soup. Portions are large so definitely go in a group to share. Loved all of the banchan (side dishes) and our server was awesome!

If authentic Korean cuisine is what you're looking for, try ZZIZIM Korean Kitchen. The quality of the food was very good. The small platter was plenty enough for the six of us, but it was tempura battered fried rather than the variety Korean pancakes we expected. Service was excellent: fast and responsive. A pretty good choice for our Sunday evening meal.

Google
This is hands down the best Korean seafood pancake in DFW. True to their name, the pancakes are exceptional—thin, crispy, and not too doughy, which sets them apart. The green onions are whole, fresh, and add great flavor. While their other dishes are solid, the seafood pancake is definitely the highlight and worth coming back for. The service is attentive, and they offer private rooms for larger groups, which is a nice touch for bigger parties.

It is a cosy restaurant with an authentic Korean menu. The food was served quickly and it tasted good. The fried rice was amazing and is a should try. The portions are large and has provides a good value for money. There is ample parking available in front of the restaurant.

Google
It’s a cute restaurant located in the Korean mall, and our family was curious to see what the buzz was about their Korean pancakes. We ordered a small size, but it was actually quite large—big enough for all of us to share. As for the food, it was okay. I think I was hoping for something a bit more flavorful, especially since it’s in a Korean mall where the food options are usually top-notch. That said, it wasn’t bad—just average.

Google
Short ribs were tasty and tender. Sauce on the fried chicken was pretty good. Nuggets were pretty crispy but a bit too bready. Sadly, fish sticks on the menu were the same ones you can get for little kids in a grocery's freezer section. We'd probably pay another visit but gotta avoid those fish sticks...

Yelp
A group of 6 of us when to dinner here on a Saturday evening and got an assortment of items. One of our group member had a fish allergy and the staff was very helpful in accommodating and helping with suggestions for what to get off the menu. None of us were big fans of the pancakes (we got the small assorted pancakes) but the main dishes were delicious! We particularly loved the short rib and the marinated pork! While the main dishes were delicious, we all agreed that for this price point we would rather enjoy some KBBQ instead since we weren't big fans of the pancakes. We would probably be more inclined to try another spot in the area next time!

Yelp
Yukgaejang - Spicy Korean beef soup... For the win... Done right with the Korean fern gosari!!! I used to get the soup in Los Angeles and have been trying to find a place in Texas similar... Perfect spice meat, quality good... Highly recommend!

Jenn S.

Yelp
Highly rated Korean food in Carrollton - so we had to go try it! Was a bit disappointed. Ordered the Small Assorted Pancakes and Short Ribs. The short ribs were okay. Meat was very soft and didn't have that nice chard taste to it. The variety pancakes were lacking. We only enjoyed the pork belly, fish, and crabmeat. Everything else was a miss.

Soul V.

Yelp
Had another meal here and really do enjoy their pancakes! Feel their other dishes are a bit...muted and overpriced but still a solid place to have Korean food! Service is always great and quick. Especially love the green onion salad.

Nicole R.

Yelp
We ordered the Assorted Pancakes (small) and the Marinated/Grilled Pork. There were three of us that shared the meal & the food gave us a good variety and they had good portions! They also had buttons to call the server and each booth provided good privacy for each group. They also had 3 different rooms for large groups.

June J.

Yelp
This place is a family favorite! We always order the same things, but it's always so good and consistent! We start with the seafood green onion pancake, fave of my hubs and our daughter loves the galbi or marinated short ribs. We are a huge fan of Korean bbq but sometimes it's nice to go and have it cooked for you. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
I've passed by Zzizim several times in the past and it finally decided to give it a shot recently. Around lunch time it was a quiet, galley style restaurant that offered really good local neighborhood vibes. Service was very good and I never found myself waiting for long so I had a really good first impression. I ended up ordering way too much but did find the value per dish to be alright though. I got the beef pancakes (8 piece ~$15) and dumplings (8 piece ~$9). Overall the food was pretty decent, though I think the spread I ordered ultimately could have used a bit more flavor outside the spicy dipping sauce. Since both of my dishes had it, it kind of lead a lack of distinct flavors between the 2 very different things I ordered. It seems like they offer lunch options that I somehow missed while prioritizing the pancakes that might have been a better introduction for me. I think there is a lot of like about zzizim but I don't think my experience quite lived up to its potential. Something tells me this place is worth another look so I think I'll end up giving it another shot at some point. Likely just shy of a 3.5 for this experience thus the 3 rating but I could easily see this as 4 ordering something a bit more tuned to my flavor palette.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem and a must try. We stumbled across this place leaving nearby spots that were a 45 minutes wait. Took my sister and her kids with my son and I, everyone totally loved it. Even my son who is picky, he loved the beef and shrimp fried rice and the La Galbi short ribs. We also got the small pancakes sampler. Every pancake was delicious and perfect with the sauce. The spicy seafood soup was flavorful and one of our favorites. Definitely one of our new go to spots when in the area.

Yelp
Arrived an hour and a half before they closed and had an amazing dinner We ordered the Spicy Seafood Noodles with thick noodles and with regular thin noodles. Both were amazing but I prefer the thin noodles. We also ordered the seafood scallion pancake which was the highlight of the meal! It's a must try item for sure. We also ordered the spicy stir fry squid and the fish was very flavorful Customer service was great! And the restaurant felt homey. Highly recommend

Yelp
A hidden gem! I came here because it was open pretty late and my mom and I were craving Korean food. Service was quick, and the interior was comfortable and clean. We ordered a seafood green onion pancake and two beef tofu soups. Lemme tell you.. that this was the best seafood pancake I've ever had. I usually don't care for it much but my mom loves it so we got it. The pancake was huge and thinly battered so it was extra crispy, and it had so much green onion in it! The seafood in it tasted fresh as well. The sauce that it comes with is also delicious. Our tofu soup was also really good, and the perfect spice level for me! You can also adjust the spice level to your liking when you order. For the sides, they were pretty good but I wish it came with normal kimchi as well, but not a big deal. You MUST come try their seafood green onion pancake, it changed my life!!

Yelp
Was super excited to tray their pancakes since it was their "specialty." I came here, because of the good reviews (especially since it's located in Carrollton where Korean food is known to be good), but we may have came during an off day. We ordered their haemul pajeon (seafood pancake), galbi, and jjampong (spicy seafood with thick noodles). My friend and I loved the haemul pajeon and galbi. The haemul pajeon was crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. However, I will say that I would have wanted a little bit more seafood given the price (23ish dollars). The galbi was also very well seasoned and very good. There was a good amount of fat, but wasn't bad as we could just cut it off. Again, this dish was 30 dollars, which was very pricey given how much we got. The jjampong was not very good. It was very bland and I felt like the noodles were overcooked. We did come at a very awkward time, but I felt that the food was just average compared to what we paid. There weren't a lot of side dishes either, just fish cakes, kimchi radish, squash, and dan moo ji. The servers were very sweet and friendly.

Nat S.

Yelp
I've always walked by this place, but never went in. The staff was superb. They are super attentive and checked on us pretty often, even though we didn't push the bell. The assorted pancakes were sort of bland and soft, which I didn't love. I wouldn't get this again. But the spicy squid and pork was really tasty! Place was pretty small but felt casual. Would definitely want to go back and try different things!

Yelp
Classic Korean food- good flavors, good banchan and great service with friendly waiters.

Yelp
Such a fun place! We stumbled into this little gem after deciding not to go to a restaurant very close by that we had read reviews on. I'm glad we did. First, it's authentic, as authentic as I having never been to Korea yet can vouch for. I've been to numerous Korean restaurants though and this one was great. From the beer and wine (more in a minute) to the usual water jug, the place just feels good, the perfect casual ambiance. I ordered a Korean wine called Kook Soon Dang. So cute, it comes in a plastic bottle that I would've mistaken for soda and looks like milk. Our cute server shook that bottle like it was going to explode and served it with two tin bowls that look like kitty water bowls. At first, I thought he was pulling my leg. Per him, the workers would drink from the bowls out in the field. I loved the story. But, THE FOOD! Delicious Seafood and green onion pancake was massive, but Hubs did a good job making it disappear. I had the Grilled Pork belly which was delicious but a little tough. All of those little side dishes and the freshest kimchi. We will be back and often.

Catherine C.

Yelp
Spicy stir fried squid and soondubu! (Also had a pancake of which that I forgot to take a picture) All the dishes we tried were solid. The service is quick and staff was very kind and friendly. Carrollton has a huge selection of authentic places. Some of them are very loud and busy. This one has such a cozy feel inside (we sat at a booth) an is a bit more quiet an intimate - altogether a great place to catch up with a friend over some good food.

Stacy W.

Yelp
Brought my MIL and cousin here for their first Korean food experience and they loved the seafood pancake! It was perfect crisp and flavor. The banchans and other meats we got were bulgolgi and LA galbi. Great flavor and ambiance!

Helen L.

Yelp
My new favorite Korean restaurant. Every single dish was absolutely mouthwatering and flavorful in my mouth. The pancakes were so good. My favorite was the cheese potato pancake. The spicy snail salad so refreshing. The spicy pork belly? AMAZING. The marinade has a balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. I would come back here a thousand times. I'd come here just to eat by myself because it's that freaking good. This place does get packed so I'd recommend coming on a weekday. Great for gatherings or a casual date night.

Samuel H.

Yelp
As a Kansas Boy, I'm a real sucker for some good Korean/Chinese food, and ZziZim had some good choices. Though I only ordered jjambbong, I would come back again because of how flavorful the soup was. I don't when ill come back, but I hope to try the steamed monk fish and plenty of other items. Service was great! Quick, no delays, and very courteous. Ambiance was chill. The wall art was good with a little touch of Louis Vuitton and Nike.

Yizhen L.

Yelp
Very friendly servers who don't speak a lot of English. We tried the pancake platter, between my husband, and I we shared a small, which was still a huge portion of food. We also got some fried dumplings on the side. The dipping sauce they provide is a little tart and, savory with chili pepper in it, absolutely compliments the fried foods. I dipped everything in the sauce and it was SO yum! The banchan was ok, but since the start of the show was the fried pancakes, it's ok. The kimchi radish was really ripe, at least on the day we visited, so might be an acquired taste if you're not familiar with Korean food. I would come back!

Annette L.

Yelp
The food here is legit. The staff is helpful and willing to explain any of the dishes. Food was delicious will definitely return with my SO next time on a date. Hope to try something new.

Mary T.

Yelp
My husband and I shared the small assorted pancake appetizer. It had a good variety and still a lot of food..probably could feed 4 for everyone to try a piece and still have room to eat other items. However the pancakes were more on the soggy side like it was cooked ahead of time and just sat under a heating lamp all day. It would be good if it had a little crunch to it. The green onion salad that comes with it does add some texture and flavor. As far as sides goes, they do not automatically give you kimchi, which I thought was odd since it is a pretty common side dish. You'll have to specifically ask for it. (I know they didn't just forget to give it to us, because the table next to us experienced the same thing). Service was good, environment was clean. It's a small space so if you plan to come with a bigger party, I suggest call ahead. I don't hate the food here, it's not terrible! I'm just not rushing to come back..maybe one day. Good to give it a try at least once!

Chasity C.

Yelp
Delicious food and attentive staff! Overall a great experience, it was a comfortable place to sit and the workers were really nice. I would definitely recommend and return, the food portions are good and well priced. Thank you!

Maddie V.

Yelp
Zzizim is a hidden gem in Carrollton's K-Town! This might be one of the best places to go for authentic Korean food. The spicy stir-fried pork was so delicious and not too spicy, and the assorted pancakes were delicious! Be warned, go with a large group if you order the assorted pancakes because it's quite a lot of food. Next time I would love to try one of their signature pancakes. Korean pancakes are this restaurant's specialty, and I highly recommend trying it out!

Olivia W.

Yelp
Incredible spot. I was CRAVING kimchi jjigae or anything that could come close to it but my kimchi wasn't ripe enough to make a solid stew. Had to go out to a Korean restaurant that had white boy options for my bf (see: deep fried food). I asked for the kimchi stew to be extra spicy and that was the perfect heat level for me (though I do like a little more pain usually). It was so savory and rich and warm - ultimate comfort food. I added some of the grilled pork belly to my stew as well. It was perfectly cooked and just barely seasoned (I mean that in a good way; they're not hiding the natural flavor). Bf seemed pretty happy with his food and it was a huge portion! We really liked the decor. Traditional looking paintings studded with designer brands lol! It was pretty funny. There are also apparently private dining rooms for families and parties (from what it looked like). I liked the buzzer system. We only needed to ping a server twice - once to place our order, next to get the check. They paid attention to our water for us! I wish I'd gotten this sweet woman's name who mainly helped us. I want to say it was Eunice but I can't be sure. Whoever she is was wonderful and made our visit memorable just by being such a sweetheart.

Rojean S.

Yelp
we're always ALWAYS satisfied leaving this place!!! they honestly have the best staff and service I've experienced!! always making sure their customers are taken care of and they also give the best food recs! I am a die hard galbi girl and their galbi is super tasteful!! and not to mention what they're actually known for...seafood pancake!!!! DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR GREEN ONION PANCAKE! HANDS DOWN THE BEST ive had across dfw. super crispy, flavorful, and just the right portion to feed 2-3 people (small size). give this place a try! you will not regret it!!

Michelle W.

Yelp
The reviews are reliable for this restaurant. We tried some signature dishes and they were all delicious. I am a sucker for tofu stew so had to try it. It lived up to the hype, also the pancakes were amazing as well. I enjoyed both the beef one and cheese potato one. Delicious! Side dishes were solid. Service was on point, also because it's a Korean restaurant where you push button if you want service, it helps for the staff to come around when you need them. Friendly people working here. Definitely a place I would revisit.

Lucie N.

Yelp
FOOD - Spicy Seafood Soup - it was very spicy and well seasoned. Not too salty which is great. Very flavorful and came out super hot which adds extra points to the dish overall. - Grilled Pork Belly - This dish was grilled pork belly on top of onions. It came out sizzling and maintained heat for a long time. I liked that it wasn't heavily seasoned in any sort of way. This helped the natural flavors of the pork come out. The pork was also thinly sliced which gave a good grilled flavor all throughout. As the onions were cooked, they became sweeter which added to the dish. - Spicy Stir Fried Squid - This dish was definitely spicy after a couple bites and it was so good. There was plenty of squid throughout the dish. The combination of the squid with the onions and green onions also made the dish very sweet-savory. Very yummy and hits super hard with rice. - Seafood Green Onion Pancake - When they say that their pancakes are the best in town. I believe it. It's very thin, crispy, large, and yummy. All the ingredients are fresh and cooked well. The seafood is generous in size also. Very good flavors and very well seasoned. Overall, the food is phenomenal. Probably one of my favorite Korean restaurants around the area. I would definitely come back and bring my friends. So yummy and highly recommended. VIBES Very nice, warm, family atmosphere vibes. Lots of families were there and there are tables, chairs, wooden booth style and some dividers between tables too which give a sense of privacy. The tables were a little on the sticky side but other than that everything was clean, bright, and very welcoming vibes. SERVICE Service was phenomenal. Our waitress was Esther and she was really sweet, friendly, and attentive to our needs (got us water when we were out and also offered to refill the side dishes promptly). All our food came out very fast and was piping hot. She also gave us some sodas on the house to welcome us for our first visit at Zzizim. Overall just a very pleasant experience and staff is all very nice.

Jon L.

Yelp
I'm here at least once a week. I've tried many many dishes. Always with the best service. Great food. The ambience is very authentic to the culture. Everything about this place is just awesome. daebak! Seriously, i go once a week, at least.

Monica J.

Yelp
Went here for lunch, and the food did not disappoint! It was kind of tricky locating the place on GPS, however we did eventually find it . Very cute simple restaurant, they do have private rooms that I accidentally walked into thinking it was the restroom! Our server Queen Esther was so adorable ,and very friendly with great recommendations ! I highly recommend the seafood pancake , it was thin , crispy , and full of flavor ! The bomb egg is a must try just because it's so fluffy ! Good thing I went in a group since the portions are huge and I was so full ! I will definitely come back !

Sandra K.

Yelp
Sweetest staff - gave us a ramyun to try :'). We ordered soon tofu, steamed egg, beef noodle soup, and spicy pork. Tasted like home cooked food - warmed the soul. Highly rec this spot!

Carolinna S.

Yelp
Found this place accidentally when we were around the area. It's definitely a good one to keep. Everything we tried was good. Today I came back with a friend. Yeah just 2 of us. We ordered: seafood green onion pancake LA Galbi Marinated and Grilled Pork Fishcake soup Everything, again it was delicious. The seafood green onion pancake, thin, crispy edges flavorful and the green onion eventho it looks scary long was not overpowering. Had a wonderful flavor actually probably because it was roasted before added to the pancake. It has a sweetness of the green onion coming through but very subtle. LA galbi is my friend's fave and she always order that. The Marinated pork reminded me of our Indonesian sweet pork satay without the coriander. It was plentiful! Very good portion. They serve this green onion kimchi that at first I thought it was seaweed. It's shredded green onion. It has a wonderful taste, light and refreshing. I am amazed by how they turn these green onion. The Fishcake soup brought me back to my childhood era. Remind me of the fishball soup my mom made. So homey.. very simple yet so delicious. Give this place a try if you have not. Highly recommended.

Jenny F.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing service and food tasted fantastic. I came here with a friend and we had soft tofu stew and it was the best we've ever tasted. We will definitely be back!

Greg M.

Yelp
Took my family here for lunch today. WOW, was it delicious! Some of the best fried dumplings we've had! We had the potato and cheese pancake and perilla pancake as well, unique and tasty. My son had the grilled pork belly, my wife had Ramen and I had the Beef short ribs. All amazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this place!

Jenny M.

Yelp
The place was enticing. Service was enough nothing fancy. Menu was limited, nothing bad as long as going after the quality. I like the food but for me there's a taste looking for that didn't find in our order. It was an okay experience. Maybe will order other food if we will get back here.

Toshie K.

Yelp
Went in for lunch since my friend and I were in the area. Pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We ordered the seafood pancake and tofu stew soup. Both were not spicy (my friend can't take the heat) but still delicious! The pancake is a must try if you're testing this place.

Eddie F.

Yelp
Good for take out or dine in. Friendly staff and decent food. The only reason I post is that their Spicy Braised Monkfish (aguchim) is the best!! I've tried in so many places yet still on one beat here so far. Please try!!

Krystal T.

Yelp
I like the set up of the restaurant. It reminded me of a places I visited in Korea. Very tasty and I can't wait to visit again and try a different dish!

Eat T.

Yelp
Ordered the Beef and Rice Soup along with Spicy Seafood Soup with Rice. Rice comes separately. Beef and Rice Soup had very few and small pieces of beef but tons of bean sprouts. Will not order again. And although the broth to the Spicy Seafood Soup was flavorful, it fell short with the lack of seafood. 2 very small shrimp, bits and pieces of others mingled within the onions and cabbage.. Potato and Cheese Pancake was just okay. Not enough crisp to chewiness. Staff was very friendly, however. Took 10-15 minutes from time of order for everything to go.

Sameet R.

Yelp
Ok, so I had been dreaming about the potato cheese pancake forever and we finally checked it out. The service is decent but the food is quite greasy. My shrimp fried rice and shrimp pancakes were soaked in oil. The potato cheese pancake was my target and given that I've never had one I can't really compare it to anything else. The potato pancake wasn't bad, slightly on the sweeter side. I was expecting it to be more cheesier but it's more akin to a crepe.

Jeannie N.

Yelp
Before I post a review, I always like to try a place three times just so I can get a really good feel for a restaurant at different times of the day, the week, and the consistency of the food. I always want to be fair and honest about how I feel before writing any type of opinion that could potentially affect a person's business. Zzizim is a good place for a quick bite. The service is courteous and quick. My partner and I got the soft tofu seafood stew, potato and cheese pancake, and spicy marinated grilled pork. The food was satisfying although the potato and cheese pancake was a bit underdone. The tofu stew had a good portion of protein and the same can be said about the spicy pork. I will say the price was just a tinge on the pricier side for the amount of food. On the whole, it's a good place for a quick bite. It's a decent restaurant with a good selection of food. I like to go here as a plan b when perhaps my first choice is not available.

Priyanshu S.

Yelp
Really good spot. Loved the spicy marinated grilled pork and the la beef. The meat was really juicy and the sauce paired with it very flavorful. The prices are a bit high but the portions are decently large. if you come with a big group I think you will enjoy this spot for the variety of flavors.

Ff F.

Yelp
Fantastic fried rice! Best food I ever had! I would like to recommend this place to everyone in Dallas communities.

Linda R.

Yelp
Hubby and I enjoyed the seafood and green onion pancake. It was crunchy and full of shrimp, squid, and long pieces of green onions. Do take advantage of the pair of scissors in the condiments bucket to cut up the pancake into bite-sized pieces. We also ordered bulgogi, but slightly missed the mark. The beef was tough, hard to chew, and not as flavorful as other bulgogi's are. Service was hands off, but we were told to hit the buzzer on the table, if we needed anything rather than a servicer coming by to check on us. The small dining room can get loud, but we also noticed two private rooms for larger parties. We will be back to try the other pancake flavors.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Very good food and I had a great time The service was also super quick and me and my brother were in and out, lastly the atmosphere is very friendly and I would definitely recommend going here!

Kim L.

Yelp
Food was decent as the soup tasted homemade. The ribs did not impress but they were seasoned well, just wasn't for my taste. We also ordered fried shrimp, the shrimp was cooked very well. I think it was pricey for the quality plus the service was slow. We waited some time for checkout but it did get crowded. The place was nicely decorated and I liked the interior design very much.

Krishna N.

Yelp
The food, service, speed and portions are amazing. The ambiance is nice and cozy. I would definitely recommend

Kirk D.

Yelp
What a cool place and amazing food. We were going to H-Mart and my wife had been with a friend. Great service, great food, clean, fresh and overall fantastic. Got the small pancake flight (a lot for two people) and the spicy pork stir fry. Amazing. Many restaurants in the area get great reviews so we'll be checking out more...or just going to back to Zzizim.
