Tranquil place, lots of detailed explanations about the significance of this temple. The garden is beautiful and there's a washroom. Note that the washroom didn't have soap when I went.

Thanks for excellent photo record. A very moving site. Not so elaborate as other historic temples in Tainan but nevertheless very rich in history

The best place to rest after a long walk in Tainan’s downtown

I'm a bit upset to this place with some reasons. First, the name of this place is very attracted me to visit because 廟 translated to English is "temple". When arrived and read the brief info., it's a grave yard of an ancient Chinese family. Five people were buried here behind the red building. The reason of the dead is Love, as I understood. Then, I was no wonder anymore, why here is very calm and peace. Second, this place is quite far from the popular Tainan places. However, I found that there's an opposite restaurant is very crowded.

Wufei Temple was built in 1683.  It is said that when the Ming Dynasty prince Ningjing (寧靖王朱術桂) was attacked by Qing (施琅), he decided to die for his country.  His five wives/concubines (袁氏/王氏/秀姑/梅姐/荷姐) decided to die too.  They hanged themselves in the palace.  After they died, the Prince Ningjing buried them and then commited suicide.  The temple was built to commemorate them. Wufei Temple has become a must-visit attraction for tourists to Tainan who are interested in history.  It is a single courtyard and two-wing style building.  It also has a small shrine at the side to honor the two servants who died with the five wives.  The temple is a good place to visit for a relaxing walk.  You can also enjoy a variety of tasty snacks in many shops and restaurants around it.

One of the smaller historical site, read the story about loyalty and companionship.
