Google
A taste of Taiwanese homecooked food. Had the braised pork belly, pork liver, asparagus and fried taro & coconut. The pork liver is recommended. The rest is Ok. Nothing spectacular - decent.

A hidden gem in this area. Initially we were gonna eat at another restaurant but they were full. Luckily we stumbled on this restaurant in the alley way. Staff are great and very friendly. The food was superb! We ordered seafood mostly cause we couldnt find a good restaurant near our hotel that serves good seafood. The dishes were served on time. The fish is fresh and was cooked well. They also served free tea which they refill whenever they see that it was already consumed. I love the atmosphere and the food i cant praise it enough. Staff were friendly too. You should try eating here. Worth the moneyyy!

✨ We were served with Chinese tea and snack after ordering of food. The service was nice. 🥢 Food was delicious, especially the 3-cups chicken and the oysters! The portions were just good enough for 3 of us. ✅ The environment was neat and cleaned. It was with air-conditioner, which is very important for summer visitings. I will return to this restaurant if I am to visit Taipei again. ⭐Overall, we had a pleasant and delicious dinner there.

Google
Great spot for introducing Taiwanese home-style cooking! I brought a foreign friend here during their visit to Taiwan, and they couldn’t stop raving about the food. The dishes are flavorful, comforting, and beautifully presented—just like a homemade meal. A perfect place to let international guests experience authentic local flavors in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended!

Google
Through a Google search for a dining place with nice food, which I found this restaurant, called before going over to make sure waiting time won't be long, staff did pickup my call and gave me details I requested . We were amazed at the quality of the food served , especially their fried rice (best fried rice I ever ate in my life 🤤 ) , also their sesame chicken was yummy too. We really enjoyed our dinner then? Will visit again if we are in Taipei.

Google
This is one of those authentic Taiwanese small dish restaurant. The taste of their food are about average compared to other Taiwanese small dish restaurant. I guess it's due to their location The cost of each dish is slightly higher than the average.

Google
Easily one of the best restaurant for Taiwanese cuisine. Their braise pork belly, fried pork liver and 3 cup chicken were spot on. All other dishes were delicious as well. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This is our go to restaurant when ever my family's housekeeper did not prepare lunch. It like having fresh home style Taiwanese "stir fry" within 10 minutes of ordering. The menu changes every day depending on the type of fresh seafood and veggies available that day. You are usually greeted at the door by a server that explains what ar the fresh ingredients of the day. The prices are very reasonable and even some times down right cheap. The go to items are the following: Boiled Chicken Pork fat rice Any fresh fish of the day sea bream, snapper, rock cod, grouper Clams Pork liver Sesame kidneys San bei chicken Any fresh veggies , tender baby lotus stems, spinach, cabbage, yam leaves Grilled sliced pork Smoked pork Oysters Pork totters Ru Rou Fan Items that I don't recommend Dong po pork Bitter melon. The restaurant looks tiny from the front by opens up and has several large round tables. Service is always good. It's located ally #8 of the busy Yong Kong road, street number 5 .

Yelp
Coming from the taste palette of a girl who grew up in a Cantonese family in NYC; 2 stars. Everything here tasted like crap except for the stir fried veggies. Stir fried beef - it's legit called that in chinese in 3 simple characters. The dish is actually Sacha sauce stir fried beef. Fellow Asians should know. It's the sauce they sell in a bottle in any Chinese market. It's also the sauce we use for goddamn instant noodles with beef. It did not taste good and did not taste very "Taiwanese". Some famous fried tofu dish - Lady told us it was a best seller. The inside had the texture of vomit. Nothing like tofu, maybe a bit like polenta, grits, and a combo of slimy veggies mixed together. Very bland dish and it comes with f* KETCHUP.. lol. Stir fried oysters - Loaded w artificial brown sauce and sugar. Oysters are fishy AF, but we tasted nothing but sauce. Bad. Salted chicken - Again, a best seller. Not bad, but nothing special to be a restaurants top dish. I can it this at the supermarket in Chinatown back in New York. Anyway, my only real sit down fam style Taiwanese dinner in Taipei was nasty. Flushing in NYC tastes better and that's sad. Not deserving of 4 stars.

Yelp
Excellent Taiwanese restaurant with lots of great seafood dishes. I have no idea what the Chinese names for the dishes are but we had braised tofu, steamed squid, stir fried mushrooms with ginger, sautéed oysters, steamed clams, and sautéed greens. Everything tasted very fresh and it all came out quite quickly! Definitely recommend this place if you're near Dongmen.

Yelp
This is my favorite Taiwanese restaurant in Taipei. They prepare a variety of traditional Taiwanese comfort food and street food dishes with quality ingredients at a much more refined standard with a much more pleasant dinning environment. The "Sealed Meat" (封肉) , "Lard oil rice" (豬油拌飯) and "Fired tofu" (奇香豆腐) are must try at this store. Even though there are many restaurant that serves "Sealed Meat" (封肉), this is by far the best place. They always use the best cut with the perfect proportion between fat and lean meat and it's cooked to perfection so that the fat literally melts in your mouth and mix with the tender lean meat which effortlessly breaks apart into soft shreds. The portions aren't really big, which alway leaves you hopping there's more. "The Lard oil rice" is also a must have. I don't know what they do to prepare that lard oil, but their's just taste different than other restaurants. I normally like minced pork rice (滷肉飯) way more but every time I visit this restaurant I substitute it with their lard oil rice. Something about their lard oil that just makes the minced pork seem unnecessary. You do have to slightly adjust your expectation in terms of prices though. They're priced more along the line of a restaurant than a street food or traditional mom and pop store. However, I say the price is well worth it.

Yelp
Tried going to the other restaurant around the corner (豐盛食堂 i think), but there was a HUGE line. So we came to this one instead. The friendly lady at the front greeted us and recommended 山蘇 (shan-su: a fern-like vegetable) and chicken. Food came quickly. The chicken tasted ok, but the spicy dipping sauce was good. The shan-su was a little under-cooked. The stems were a little too chewy. So, it was mediocre but not great. The service was pretty good though (for a small shop like this). During the late lunch rushed, we had to share a table with another couple. The waiter kept apologizing for having to seat us that way. As we were leaving, every staff in the restaurant was saying "thanks" and "come back soon" enthusiastically.

Yelp
Lots of Taiwanese specialties that are hard to find prepared as well elsewhere (outside Taiwan, so especially appealing if you are a traveler not in Taiwan for long). A little salty and only bottled water and caffeinated tea available, but otherwise really delicious. Highlights of our dinner included: Asian eggplant, pumpkin with silken tofu, a wild green leafy vegetable sauteed with garlic and small fish, and a sauteed veggie dish with what tasted similar to bamboo shoots (but was not bamboo).
