昭觉寺

First built during the Tang Dynasty, with addings in Ming and Qing Dynasty. The present temple was rebuilt since 1970's after the massive destruction during the cultural revolution, mostly based on the original records. This in one of the most important Zens school temple in western China. The main entrance is currently (2025) being reconstruction, if by walking it's easier to access from the adjacent Chengdu Zoo.

成都昭觉寺始建于唐朝贞观年间（公元627-649年），初名“建元寺”，后于唐僖宗乾符四年（公元877年）更名为“昭觉寺”。昭觉寺经历了多次兴衰。明末毁于战乱，清代由高僧破山和尚发起重建。之后又在文革期间遭受严重破坏，现在的建筑和佛像全部是现代重建的，唯有大雄宝殿前黄树保存至今。现在的昭觉寺建筑群沿南北中轴线呈对称布局，拥有大雄宝殿、圆觉殿、天王殿、金刚殿、说法堂、藏经楼、八角亭等殿宇。

佛寺園林大，景觀美，和動物園接臨，旅客也多。
